"Yes Tika, I know what you meant." Marcus said, rolling his eyes, as he stepped out of Tika's way. Watching patiently as Tika completely defaced the elevator doors. Marcus sudden bored expression changed into a ver interested one when Tika mentioned the word 'cheap' and 'free'. "Well -that's- going to save us a hell of a lot of money. Mainly money I don't even need."

Soon after Tika jumped and latched two levels down, Marcus followed suit, giving the suit the command to mimic Tika's suit. But as Mark caught up with Tika and the grapple cut through the wall just a couple of floors up, Marcus recklessly swung from the center of the shaft and banged onto the wall, just next of Tika. "Ow... that was smart."

Though Tika's suit hadn't used a grapple line, but was gripping to the shaft walls by hands and feet now. He grinned sheepishly through the translucent faceplate.

"Erm, might have wanted to use the suit's... baran osila. Erm... Well, kind of a scaling ability, I suppose it translates to. Full compatibility with most vertical and inverted horizontal surfaces. Let's just call it spider-grip or something."

"Oh yeah, my suit has also worked out the general operating system of the ship now. It guarantees me full access to most ship-wide systems, barring security, weapons, and defence. I can open the doors though." He grinned again, stil somewhat nervously, as though embarrassed that his superior technology was still unable to override such older restriction protocols.
In accompaniment to his news to Mark, however, the doors opened in front of them.

Only to be greeted by a fresh wave of security measures.

"Well I didn't exactly get to read the User's Manual, now did I?" Mark smirked at Tika, pulling himself up a bit. Just then, Mark worked with the suit in accessing the spider-grip ability, trying to remember the words that Tika had mentioned, just as Tika was talking about being able to access things from the ship. But by the time Tika had finished talking, Mark had comfortably planted himself on the wall, only to be terribly disappointed by the door opening and being greeted by two security drones.

The two drones looked at each other and then down at Tika and Mark, their arms then produced a light particle beam and charged. "Intruders found and targeted. Terminating intruders."

"Well that's alright Tika, we'll change the operating system to something your suit -can- hack into.." Marcus looked over at Tika with a sly grin. "In the meanwhile... Suit disengage surface grip." The suit complied and Mark forceably pushed off the wall with his feet towards the opposite wall, causing him to flip backward like an acrobat and come in contact with the second wall, to once again kick off and expertly lunge towards the two drones, and into the hallway. ((A la Star Wars: Ep. 3... lame v.v))

Of course that wasn't all the security within that level, as there were four other drones just a meter away from the lift entry and ready to open fire as soon as -anything- were to react to the situation.

Tika echoed Mark's actions, finding them to be just about the easiest way to get out of the lift.

"Hey Mark. Valete. Alright? That's Latin, means 'prevail'. And we're going to."

He stepped up beside his friend, checking the internal readout for his suit's particle cannon. Suffice to say that the liberal use before had pretty much drained the suit's ability to effectively produce the beam again, unless he wanted it to start using needed material to create the beam.
Tika dimly found himself wishing he'd had his suit absorb some material from the elevator shaft wall.

"You want these two?" Not that Mark had a choice as Tika sprang lithely over the two in front of them, crouched low, then dived forwards to intercept the other four.
In the time it would usually have taken Mark to answer, had not Tika so rudely gone ahead anyway, two drones were taken down. The first suffered a devastating swipe which sent it crashing into the wall next to it, with the full power of Both Tika's muscles, and the suit's enhanced strength capacity.
The second came off worse, receiving a hastily formed two-feet long blade that extended from Tika's left fore-arm parallel with the flat of his hand.

"Valete? Sounds more like spanish... but whatever." Mark muttered under his breath as he proceeded to deal with the two drones he took down. Taking hold of one of the drones, Mark rolled backwards and flung the drone towards the open lift doorway.

The second drone had taken this chance and fired its particle beam at Marcus, as it got to its feet. It fired rapidly as if it were a defence turbo laser for a military flagship.

The third and fourth drones that were being 'handled' by Tika, had prepared their automated turrets as Tika was rampaging on the first two drones. They targeted the closest threat, which was Tika, and fired upon him, at the same rate that the drones the duo had encountered at the Airlock hallway.

Tika grimaced as his suit told him that it could not sustain much more fire without losing much-needed layers of itself.
He wrenched the blade from the impaled drone, slicing upward to finish it off and free the glittering implement of destruction. The blade was automatically reasorbed to compensate for lost layers of suiting.

He then turned swiftly to the second two and landed a roundhouse on the nearest, carefully calculated to send it into it's comrade, before he dived onto the both of them, negating their projectile weaponry.
He quickly instructed his suit to inject each drone with tendrils, which it did so, and then told it to disrupt them in any way possible. A full hack wasn't possible, but ******** with their central processors sure was.

In seconds the pair had stopped writhing, as his suit absorbed their circuitry and converted it to more of it's own material, replenishing it's supply. It would take a short while to be completely broken down and assimilated, but it would happen.

"For a sunken ship... It sure is ******** lively." He mumbled over the comms.

Mark was a little too busy handling the remaining drone that was firing at him. He deflected the beams with telekinesis for a second, which was all he needed to get close to the drone and impale his right arm into the drone, the suit providing Mark with needed sharp points at the tip of his fingers. Mark could feel the pressure of the blow he had induced into the drone done to his hand, regardless of the suit's protective casing and the swiftness of the bladed fingertips. Remembering the last time he did this without a suit or any protection, he had shattered the bones in his hand partially.

The drone began to twitch uncontrolably as Mark ripped out its operating system's core and throwing it aside as he began to walk towards Tika, nursing his hand, as well as repling to Tika's previous comment. "Well I didn't think the security drones would surive the crash... I guess I was wrong. But hopefully that's the last of them. Seeing as how the crystals are just up ahead.. and Ocarina can simply shut down the alarm and we will get no more trouble from the ship." Mark caught his breath and sighed, ordering the suit to open the faceplate quickly, before continuing. "Sound good?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 3:44 pm

"Hm. Not in the mood for any more fun, eh?" Tika looked to Mark ponderously, then had his own faceplate disengage.

"Well, you heard him Ocarina. Run a deep-level intrusion routine. Rewire this b***h's entire security network to submission to Mark's preferences, which he can inform you of later. In the meanwhile, unlock every door on this ship, except for external airlocks and any doors leading to compromised sections, if there are any."

And what else could Ocarina respond with, but

"You want fries with that?"

Regardless, he complied. And within seconds the doors ahead of Mark and Tika opened up, as were all other doors on the ship, should they wish to wander around it.
The alarm died down, and the lights returned to low power mode.

"Very good." Tika said sourly. "Have a Scooby Snack."

He turned to Mark with a smirk, then bowed minutely. "After you. This is your ship after all."

"Well, I want to get back home just in time for..." Mark frowned, suddenly depressed, remembering how little he did back at the TGM mansion. He was surprised he hadn't gotten -fat- from laying around and doing nothing at all. "Nevermind."

Marcus lighten up when Tika bowed at the slighest and made the mention of the ship being Mark's. "It won't be my ship until I get to spray paint its new name on the side of the bleeding thing..." Regardless of what he said, Marcus led the way down the rest of the hallway and stopped at the entrance of the armoury. He looked back over to Tika and felt like directing their conversation to another topic. "So Tika, last I heard you had a kid... how does that work out with Crimson?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 4:14 pm

He shrugged. To Tika, past was past, things done could not be undone, and such questions were pointless. If Crimson had a problem, she'd have to stick with it. Such was the way he viewed things.

"To be honest, I can't remember if she knows. But I'm pretty damn sure she definitely does. She's fine with it as far as I can tell. Her and Loka are alike enough to get on."

Tika examined the weaponry in the armoury, debating whether or not it was worth taking some, then remembering that it was, by default, Mark's weaponry now.
"So, you haven't met her yet? Ni'Loka, I mean. As I understand, she's going through a kind of gothic phase at the moment."

"Heh. Right the whole kid mentality thing." Mark poked around the weapons muttering to himself, "Old, Old, Really Old, Ooooh rail gun." He stopped and admired the rail gun he found but was disappointed when it wouldn't load. "I guess the only guns that work are the beam/laser weapons."

Mark got out of his 'i-got-my-own-armoury-filled-with-guns' state and proceeded to look for the crystals, checking under the lower sections of the shelves. In the meanwhile, he replied to Tika, "Well no, I haven't. Though I think I might have seen her once, not entirely sure. Hey, I think I'll have to go to Du'rem for some stuff after this. I need clothes." Just as Mark made the mention of needing clothes, he found a metallic crate 2x2 feet. But it wasn't just any metallic crate, it was his crate. "I FOUND THEM!!!!!" Mark yelled, as he jumped up with a genuine Cornelian grin, a grin that Mark knew only too well what it meant if it were on any other Cornelian's face.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 4:49 pm

And it meant that the grinning Cornelian just found their stash of highly illegal donkey pr0n crystals.

"Cool." Tika grinned back, a lowly Aastaian grin that was a lot like other grins and only said 'grinning like a moron is fun' 'cool'.

"Mark, about the ship. It needs plasma to get anywhere, so..."

"Come on Tika. You know you want to pull a trade to your advantage already."

Had he been in a body, Ocarina would have been grinning a 'lolz retard' 'Beat you to it' grin.

"Mark, we'll cut you a deal. We use some of the base materials left onboard the Nostalgia to convert into plasmatic energy, and you let us play with the ship's armaments.
Alternatively. We use some stored material from your ship, convert it, and you give us the damaged drones."

Tika just leaned against a bulkhead, staring at the ceiling.

"Huh? ******** that. I'll give you all the damn drones I have. I'll make this ship so goddamn impenitrable I won't need drones. Or get better ones?" Mark said unsure, looking at Tika guessing that Tika probably thought he was insane. Even so, Mark began to drag the rather heavy crate towards the door of the armoury. "Um... Yeah, let's make that trade. But even if we get the material for the ship to work, I don't think it'll be able to fly seeing as how one of the engines is damaged." Mark said frowning.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 5:26 pm

Tika shrugged.

"Doesn't have to be able to fly. Just to execute a synchronised jump with the Nostalgia to Aastaium. Repairs can be done there for free, since the Aastaians are such lovely little nice giving and caring people."

His tone was almost, but not quite, vile distaste. He would never admit it to anyone, but deep down, Tika felt some loathing toward his race.

"Ocarina? Teleport the drones aboard the Nostalgia and have the nanites on board break them down into base metals and resources."

"Hehe.. Someone dislikes their race as much as I do." Mark grinned slightly, but nodded in agreement with what he said. "Yeah alright. You think we should stay here or get back on the Nostalgia for the ride back home? After we're done with the whole, giving this ship life again stuff."
