"And you would fight a wounded opponent? How honorable!" she scoffed. "Sorry but I have places to go so i'd advise you to step aside peacefully." she said, drawing her Zanpakuto.
Zero didn't budge. "I'll just call it my handicap since you're a Captain. It evens out the odds." He said, similary drawing his Zanpakuto.

She readied herself for battle. Shiki, shut up and don't give me that "your wounds are going to open up" crap. Just sit tight and watch. She thought, sending her a mental message.
Zero went for the classic assassination move, using Shunpo behind her and aiming to stab her in the back.
Kaori swung around and knocked his blade out of the way. "Very advanced Shunpo." she remarked. "As expected from the Squad 2 Lieutenant...but you'll have to do better than that!" She said, using Shunpo above him and slashing downwards.

Zero sidestepped, Kaori's blade stabbing into the ground right next to his feet and he swung his sword unpward.
Kaori twisted away and dislodged her blade, his sword tip managing to injure her. She landed and felt her wounds reopening for the third time today. Ignoring her wounds, she dashed right at him.
He used Shupo behind her, swinging his blade up and got her, his blade slicing down her shoulder.

"I think you missed me." she said, appearing behind Zero with her blade at his neck.
Zero didn't move and inch. "Utsusemi?" He said in a mildly impressed voice. "Just what i'd expect from a Captain." he said, sheathing his sword.
"Just be glad I didn't kill you today." she said, also sheathing her sword and walking out of the barracks.
