Eires heart
WellzY
I hate, hate hate hate hate hate the Irish accent with the constant rising intonation at the end of every freaking setance.

ARGH!
Go ******** yourself.

Nah, don't. I'm only messing. I don't have a rising intonation. I don't know any Irish accent that does. Well possibly the N. Irish one, but they're all turds up there.

What accent do you have anywhoo?

Actually on topic: We say Chips; Coke, 7up, etc; zed; ... hmm ... colour ... and in Ireland ... well me ... we've got gutteral pronounciation. Kinda like German, what with being one of the harder Celtic languages.

For example, I would say Eye-ur-land rather than Aye-are-land, for Ireland. Or however you try to type it in an America accent.
even the English pronunciation is different to ours.
Don't like the English accent. ^_^;

Aagghhh, I hate it when I hear some Americans saying IIIIIreland or IIIIIIIraq or he was IIIIIItalian.. I mean what the hell?!?

Hee hee, I think even when Irish people go into Mcdonalds etc. thay ask for chips rather than fries...

I also hate that stage Irish accent that says 'top of the morning t'ya'.. I have never heard any Irish person say that or have such an accent.

I love the Scottish accent and I like French people speaking English.

We had some Canadians in our school talking to us for a day and it seemed like all the stuff they said ended on a high as if they were asking a question or else they finished with "and stuff like that". It was funny, before that I hadn't distinguished much between Canadian and American accents.

Haha...It's funny to hear how a fellow Pskovite sounds. I didn't realise we sounded so...nasalish.

I laughed out loud when I heard the Texan woman speak.

Sheesh, what's the big problem with the Southern US accent here? Yall act like it's the same all over the south. Personally though, I loooove the Creole accent; it makes me want to melt into a puddle of Starfishy goo. But seriously, I live in southern Texas and I'm one of the only ones with the stereotypical accent, and it ain't very distinct anyways.

I love listening to yankee accents because they sound so odd to me. Especially when this kid in my computer class says "Ohio".

Also, the only time I've ever heard someone use the word "pop" for "coke" is when my current best friend moved down from Indiana. I was all, "Wtf's a pop?"

I enjoy my Californian "accent," it just sounds so plain and NORMAL. the general flatness of it all makes us sound like more practical people, when we're not using the word LIKE every other sentence.

I don't think most of the ones from Southern US have very strong at all, maybe it's just me. If yall heard the people I grew up around yall would probably tear yall ears off or something. If I try to sound like, say somebody from LA, it won't even sound right and I refuse to do it. Me trying to have a casual conversation with that accent feels as ridiculous as somebody from LA speaking with a southern accent.

I'll just say that I don't sound like the people on that site. Being Black and growing up listening to my incrediably country relatives I think Black southerners sound totally different from White ones in a opposite but equal kind of way. They really pronounce r's but r's used at the ends of words are minimal and if the person is really country (like my parents) they don't say it at all. Store becomes sto' when used by my older relatives.
