Aegle hummed softly to her self as she worked quietly and slowly. Her hips and tail swayed slightly in time with the tune. She figured it was better to work slow and make it right than to rush and there be a problem later.
Bout an hour or two later she popped her head out of the den to get a breath of fresh air and noticed that the sun was slowly starting to set. She had made good time she thought. There was only a little more that she needed to do and it would be perfect for the kits.

Slowly Leo sank into a deeper sleep. It was clear he wasn't going anywhere tonight. Maybe not even more several nights. Hopefully his position as a scout would give him that time, since it wasn't uncommon for them to vanish for up to a week when patrolling the borders. The tribe knew he was venturing to the edges of the lands, so with luck none of the Phim scouts would fly out looking for him.

Aegle was pacing around in front of the den that her and Leo had made weeks ago. Leo was off hunting or had gone back to see his tribe. She wasn't sure at the moment. She had this uneasy feeling and her nerves were shot so she went to lie down in the den.

Leo felt like a bundle of nerves. It had been tough getting away from the tribe. He'd been doing his best since Aegle had come to him with the news of her pregnancy, but the clan was getting more organized. Soon Leo's scouting would be limited to around Hometree, and the Phims would take borders.
He sighed as he found himself back in the field of flowers. Already he didn't get to see Aegle very often, and now it looked like that would be cut even more. He wished his mate was a part of the clan, but that was her choice to make. They'd discussed it though and at least one of their children was staying with him. He just wished he could be a better father to the others.
Leo paused as he got closer to the den. Usually Aegle heard him coming and came out to greet him, but she was nowhere in sight. He looked around, worried, hoping he was just overreacting or something.

After having a little incident Aegle and looked around as she walked out of the den making sure things where safe. She had to travel a little ways to go to the near by river. It wouldn't take her long but she was just making sure things were ok.
She was walking back and noticed Leo was standing in front of the den. "Come on love I have something to show you,"She said while walking into the den.

Aegle sat in the entrance of the den feeling very proud of herself. They had beautiful kids and everything just felt right. "Of course they are. They are our kids silly,"She teased him speaking just as softly. She nuzzled a couple than pulled back to let him.

After the inital wonder faded Leo felt a heavy saddness in his heart. "It'll be hard to separate them," he said, voice reflecting his saddness. He really wished they could all grow up knowing each other.

Aegle let out a sigh and nodded. "They are going to be scattered like the winds. But I don't fear of never seeing them. "She told him in all honesty turning to walk out of the den. She sat with her back facing the entrance as she thought.

Leo let out a sigh of his own. "Omaticaya isn't violent, but we're not very tolerant of outsiders," Leo said, voice rueful. "I don't know if you would be allowed on the lands. The children might be, especially since one or two will be with me." He stared out of the den past Aegle.
Ecthelion was calling a gathering tomorrow. Leo would have to tell him about all of this, and see what could be done. His hopes weren't very high. As one not of the clan, Aegle would probably never be allowed near Hometree. And he wasn't going to be spared from his duties to see his mate very often. They knew it would be tough, but the point was just driven further home at this moment.

"I Know," Aegle said in an unreadable voice. She wasn't going to bend to the will of a tribe just because she was mated to someone that was in it. She was angry that they would be like that. "They wont keep me out from seeing my kids Leo. You know that. It will be Dakari all over again and I will not let what happened to him happen to any of them." She said in a slight growl

Leo looked sadly at Aegle's back. "It's not that simple. You're facing down a clan, my love, not just a rouge fox who thinks it's delightful to snatch children. If my Elder gives me a direct order I cannot disobey it." That was about the scope of tribes. The Elder's word was law, to break it was to defy the will of the clan.
"I will talk, and see. Ecthelion may want to meet you, or he may find my testimony enough." Leo's hopes weren't high though. Aegle was stubborn, but this wasn't something you could fix through sheer willpower. Even if Ecthelion approved of them Aegle still wouldn't be allowed near Hometree. They would still get to see each other only rarely.

Aegle sat there with her back straight. "I know what I'm facing Leo. I can disobey anything. I am not bound by anyone's word."she stated plainly. She felt bad for him but she really wasn't going to budge on this.
Aegle sighed. "I'm sorry love,"She spoke softly to him hanging her head slightly. She knew she was stubborn and wouldn't budge on this but she was putting him in a hard position. "Talk to your elder."

Leo shook his head, going to curl up in a corner of the den. Aegle just didn't get it. She was stubborn and had a temper, but she didn't understand what it was like to be in a tribe. If she tried to disobey the will of the Elder the clan would run her off the lands. She would never be allowed to visit her children on Omaticaya territory. Ecthelion might even decree their mating be terminated and forbid Leo from seeing Aegle ever again.
Whether she liked it or not, Aegle was going to have to play by the rules on the clan on this matter. He would talk and see what came of it.

Aegle sat outside as Leo when in. She knew he was upset with her for being so stubborn and she felt bad but there really wasn't anything that she could do about it. She didn't roll over just like her father didn't.
She stayed outside as night began to creep up and the sun started to go down. The night air began to get a bit chill but still she sat there in wonder and thought. She knew the kids where fine with Leo sleeping with them so she didn't worry about going in to keep them warm.
