"I didn't do anything sir," Neylie said her eyes wide at the events. "I didn't do a thing. We got here and he changed to a bat," She looked out the window at the bats, as if to see if what had happened was real. "That was freaky," she mumbled.

Professor Rote had that irritating quality among older wizards of being able to, seemingly, tell when a child is lying. Fortunately it paid off for Neylie. "I believe you my child. However I still need to know who did it. Even if Mister Harris here is unscathed. Do you know if he has exchanged words with anyone recently?"
Gawain would have answered for himself if he was passed out on the Headmaster's hardwood floor. Hopefully it has been washed recently.

Neylie hated to rat out her friends but she had heard of the 'power' the headmaster had and didn't want to get in trouble. "He talked to Eva and Sapphire both before we left,"

"Now that that is settled, I will talk with both later, I have a letter from an acquaintance of mine you might find interesting. I will read it to you:
Dear Garius,
I am of need of a few good hands over the summer for a special round up in Romania. The authorities there say that birth rates have sky highed for the dragon populace. I would be pleased if you could find me a smart and able bodied witch or wizard to help and get paid some amount of money. Respond as soon as possible with names.
Your friend,
Rezel Hawk"
The headmaster smiled and closed the letter as he waited to hear her surprised sounds of glee.
Gawain was now on a settee that was not there when both students entered the room, but by his snores it appeared he didn't care.

Neylie smiled. "Oh my gosh! Your serious? I've always wanted to work with dragons!" she said astonished at her luck. "It's a dream come true!"

Professor Rote nodded and passed her a form to fill out regarding health and parental agreement. Nothing too hard, just the basics. After that he asked her, "Would you please bring me Avarielle and Sapphire."
At that moment though Ava burst into the room with a letter clutched in her hand. "Professor, I've done it. I really believe I have done it!" Professor Rote gave her one of the most genuine smiles to date and took the letter from her hand. He skimmed it over and by the time he had finished he was absolutely beaming. He said, "Good Gods Ava, you found the countercurse for not just the Killing Curse, but for any malevolent curse. An all purpose curse breaker. You will be famous." At that point he sat down on Gawain who woke up with a ooph!

Neylie took the forms and skimmed them quickly. "Shouldn't be to hard, I'll work on it right away and send it home," She saw Professor Rote sit on Gawain and laughed quietly. Finally it clicked what Ava had accomplished and she was awed. "Wow," she said simply and turned to leave.

Sapphire gasped as she felt that her hex had failed. Running closer to the castle she noticed bats attacking the Headmaster's window. The hex had begun in the headmaster's office! "Great timing Sappire, great timing." She immeiatly thought about lifting the curse and a few seconds later, the bats dissapeared.

Neylie walked back down to the garden, hoping Sapphire was still there. "Sapphire?" she called out.

Sapphire walked back to the garden to pick up her things. She noticed Naeylie and waved once more, running over. "Hi! What did Headmaster Ross want?" She gave a slight cringe as she remembered thinking that Gawain had been trying to trick Neylie. Luckily it was unnoticable.

"One of his friends needs someone to help with an overpopulation in dragons. I need to send a form to my parents. Oh, Proffesor Rote needs to talk to you. It's about a curse put on Gawain," Neylie said quickly in her excitment about the dragons.

Gawain got up slowly and rubbed his sides. "I feel as though I have been compressed and then stretched out again. What happened?"
Ava looked quizzically at him, she hadn't a clue and she shrugged to express that. "I thought you were just taking a nap."
Professor Rote looked at Gawain seriously, "You were cursed.. into a bat-"
Ava burst out laughing, she couldn't help it, the image was hilarious. It was so-so- Gawain.
Professor Rote glared at her, but he knew that it wasn't her. He had known Avarielle since her birth and if there was one thing he could count on her for, it would be an aversion to causing others grief. Even if she did tease people mercilessly. He turned his attention back to Gawain, "What do you want to do about this? Do you want to press charges?"

Neylie grabbed Sapphire's arm and dragged her to Professor Rote's office. She knocked on the door, but heard Ava laughing.

With the knock on the door Headmaster Rote was again forced to turn his attention away from Gawain. "Come in Sapphire. Neylie, you may go back to your dorm."
