She saw Asmaria admiring the guardians of the church and smiled. "Those are the Yukal, they are creatures that guard the Gods and Goddesses, They have the body of Orin, the claws of the Kunai...ummmm..." she thought how to describe them, "big cats, the teeth of Ruion, ummm.... meat eating fish, and the eyes of the all seeing Gods. They guard our Temples from evil and report misdeeds to the Gods and Goddesses. If you repent your misdeeds the Gods will forgive you, if not they decide your punishment. Do you have any other questions?"

"Wow!" Asmaria said, looking up at the statues of the Yukal for a few more seconds, then looking around some more as they headed through the city. The group passed many open-air shops with criers shouting their prices out in common and some other language that Asmaria guessed was the other native language of Orin.

Lex had gotten out of his Mech, but not out of duty, he just wanted to see what this tour was all about. He had closed the distance between them quickly enough to hear the talk of guardians. He dismissed the mysticism, that doesn't seem tangible.. and if they were so powerful, that is just because they haven't had a challenge on this planet of pacifists.
"Sounds like a load of horse s**t." He says gruffly, not caring who hears him. "Don't fear what won't attack you, fear what will. Asmaria, when are those reptilian bastards making landfall anyways? I would like to know when to finish the last of my wiskey."

She did not understand what 'horse s**t' was, but she understood his tone of mockery, she calmly looked towards him and said in a very calm, peaceful voice, "Please do not mock the beliefs of our people, we take our religion and beliefs very seriously, perhaps you should find something to believe in, you might find it enlightening."

"I'll enlighten you sweetheart. This won't cost you anything. The gods are just envious of us, the living, because they cannot feel all this, and that is why they allow their charges to die so futilely. I don't worship envious children, nor do I believe in anything except you die. Which is what will happen to your planet if you don't stand up against your enemies." He says very harshly with spitting his cigar stub to the ground and smashing in furiously with the heel of his boot. The golden crusifix on the end of the chain next to the dog tags dances with all the sudden movement.
"Do you have any alcohol on the rock? Or are you all as placent and useless as you seem?" he asks visible stressing with nerves. Before she can answer he just throws his hands skywards and starts to head in the direction of Excaliber. He grabs a cask of moonshine from his coat and beings to drown the pain in his head.

She stopped walking and stared at this incredibly rude counterpart. Her eyelids lowered allowing her almond eyes to squint at him as if he were a disgusting bug. "Perhaps for you, you will just die because the gods realize how incredibly idiotic you are, and perhaps they do not wish to put your ignorant soul in another being." She sighed flipped her hair at him, adding as an after thought, "And we have drink, try our Rui'lo, I'd be careful, however, it has been known to kill Orlocks from the planet Quirena." She pointed to a Tavern a few feet away. "You can get it there, Asmaria Coulie has the box with your Orinian money. It will cost you 2 Rez"

Asmaria opened the box and saw a bunch of coins that looked as if they were made of precious metals. "So which are the Rez?" she asked, thankful for a reason to get rid of Lex. He could drink himself into a stupor for all she cared, she just couldn't deal with his s**t right now, which is why she had kept quiet through his insult of the Orinian Gods, even though it pained her to do so. She looked back at the coins in the box and pulled out one of them. "Is this a Rez?" she asked, seeing another coin just like it and getting ready to pull it out.

"Rez are these," She held up two gold coins, about the size of a half dollar. "10 Wer to a Yur" she held up a small copper coin, a Wer, and then a larger about the size of a quarter silver coin, a Yur. "And 50 Yur to a Rez, and 100 Rez to a Kil'o"
She tossed two Rez at Lex and began walking away with Asmaria, to further explain culture, and to show her the way.

Asmaria breathed a sigh of relief as they walked away from Lex. She no longer had to worry about annoying, closed-minded men. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She didn't need to look back to know who it was, and to know that she had one more annoying, clsed-minded man to deal with. "Rickan, I thought I told you to stop doing that." she said, restraning herself from the tempting thought of giving him a bloody nose. "Asmaria, remember your position." Rickan said, smiling. Asmaria gave him a withering look. "My position does not give you the right to try to make me your personal harlot!" Asmaria said angrily, brushing his hand off her shoulder. She silently wished that he had gone with Lex to drink himself into a stupor. She breathed deeply, and the urge to knock Rickan's lights out slowly faded. She decided to ignore anything he said. In fact, she would pretend he didn't exist, unless he put his hands on her again.

She turned to the man, "Why do you touch her when she does not wish you to? Do you not respect her? If you touch a woman here on Orin without her permission that can lead to jail. Not just sexual touch, but all forms of touch, with exemptions of accidental bumping and brushing." She crossed her arms waiting for him to test her. She then noticed a darkening of the sky,she looked up to examine it, something was blocking the sun from view....but what?

Asmaria smiled as she realized that the laws forbade Rickan from touching her without her permission, and next to her, Rickan frowned and fell back into the crowd of colonists. Asmaria looked up at the sky as something blotted out the sun. "Already?" she asked, recognizing the shape blotting out the sun from the last transmissions from Earth. "We have Metas! I repeat, we have Metan crafts!!!" she said into the small headset she wore in her ear as she turned to Coren. "It seems it is time for us to get to work." she said. She pressed a small button on the side of the headset.
---------
Back at the Excalibur, as the MechSuit pilots that had made up the aeriel peremiter sped toward the shape blotting out the sun, the ship's hangar doors opened and a violet and silver blur shot towards the group of colonists. It landed directly in front of Asmaria. "I am here, Asmaria." the MechSuit's AI said. "Ah, good, Raye. Coren, allow me to introduce the very best in MechSuit technology, Raye. I developed her myself. Those Metas don't stand a chance against us."
---------
((Since Baka-Chibi is not here right now to play Ba'jret, I'll have to make up an NPC Metan to lead the first assault on Orin.))
As the Metan Destroyer-class ship Tyren orbited the planet of Orin, preparing for its first attack, Darnekt formed probably the closest thing to a smile that a Metan was capable of making. He turned to the ship's Captain. "What's their defensive status?" he asked. The Captain turned toward him, as if offended. "I've told you, General, the Orinians have no defenses. They value peace, even over their own pathetic lives." the Captain said. "No defenses? Then what do you call those?" Darnekt asked, pointing to dozens of large blips on the holoscreen in front of him. "Errr...." the Captain said, trying to think of an explaination. "Wait a minute... I recognize those material signatures... Those are Earthen metals." "What? But I thought we already destroyed Earth!" the Captain said. "The humans must not have all been on Earth. Perhaps they colonized to another world before the attack." Darnket said.
--------
Asmaria climbed into Raye and closed the cockpit. The holoscreens formed around the chair that Asmaria sat in. Her fingers played across the holoscreens, touching the parts that started the startup sequence. "You ready, Raye?" she asked. "Yes, Asmaria, I am always ready." Raye said. Asmaria touched the holoscreen that activated the booster rockets strapped to Raye's back. Raye took off into the sky, spinning into a barrel roll as she flew.

Lex was just about to indulge himself in his first of many alien liquors when the call came. His personality turned a full one-hundred eighty degrees. From a low life that wants to drown his sorrows to one of the highest ranking military men earth had left to offer. His poise became stiff and his face a stoic mask of duty. Steeling his nerves for perhaps his final combat, he leaves the tavern much differently than he had arrived. Many Orins take notice to the drastic change in persona. Marching to the Excaliber, he salutes any higher ranking officer before he reaches Tumbleweed.
"If this thing isn't fully loaded it is my a** that is going to die, let's move people!" he shouts at the technitions, "but remember folks, I will fight to save your lives."
He enters the Tumbleweed with a large leap, while grabbing the top bar of the door. Swinging his heaft into the customised c**k-pit, he greets his "ladies" with a wave. The multitude of model pictures wall paper every inch of unused space. He straps himself in and looked at the screen. His smiled became dark and malicious, he sees what he has been waiting for, Metas.
The Technitions move away from the "Burn-zone" and he takes off. The cumbersome weight of a ground force mech lifted from Orinian surface. "Okay Asmaria we are airborne, I'll be your wingman if you don't trust any of the greens. Let's get this straight, personal battles are left off the battlefield. I want their blood on my hands, not yours."

She nodded as Asmaria ran to her equipment to fight for Orin. She then took a deep breath and let out a screeching call that sounded nothing like the deep accented english she was speaking before. It seemed to reach all octaves at once and reach miles away. If an official heard it, it was their job to continue the call until all of Orin was alerted. This call was a built in defense system for the Orinians, it was a danger warning, to know that all Orins were to seek sanctuary at the bottom of a nearby church. With waves of Orinians pouring into churches the cities seemed desolate.

"You act like I need you to be my wingman. However, I agree that personal battles should be left out of this. Just try to keep up." Asmaria said, exiting the atmosphere as she flew toward the Metan fighters that had begun to shoot out of the Tyren. "Raye, prepare the Particle Cannon!" she said. "Yes, Asmaria. Particle Cannon ready for battle." Raye said. "Right! Let's do this!" Asmaria said as Raye's Particle Cannon locked into place and aimed at the nearest cluster of Metan fighters. Asmaria fired, and the fighters in the cluster of 5 exploded into shrapnel.
--------
Darnket growled audiably as 5 of his lead fighters were destroyed. "What the Kanr is wrong with you people? What are you, blind? Fire! I said fire, blarg it!" he yelled. "Yes, sir!" his pilots said, firing at the MechSuits.
--------
"Incoming!" Raye said as the blaster rounds flew toward them. Asmaria was barely able to avoid the Metan blasters. She tilted the joysticks, and Raye banked quickly, barely dodging the blasters. Asmaria continued to fly toward the rest of the Metan fighters.

Lex watches as the metan tries to spray Asmaria, blasting forward to intercept. Coming from above, he uses his Graviton Hook to catch the top of the figter. Ripping thought the foreign metal like butter, he positions himself between the metans and Asmaria using the metan fighter as a shield. The fighter explodes under its own friendly fire, the explosive debrit giving Lex the cover he needs to open up a long burst of heavy caliber rounds. The trashcan sized bullets tearing into three fighters. "Sure looks like a wingman might be useful for you, don't try to be the hero, kid."
He throws off the remenants of the fighter from the hook, cudgling a near-by fighter with the arm of the Mech, crushing it with the empty cartrage he was about to eject. As the fighter spiralled groundwards he pushed the eject button. The clamp wouldn't release. "Frag... I've got a gun down. I need cover to unclamp it."
