"Nah, 'scool. I love a satisfied customer. But I love their money even more!" Leo nudged Duke's shoulder jokingly. "How's food service treatin' ya?"

Duke's gleeful expression changed to a very tired one. He looked over his shoulder, making sure his boss wasn't listening, and rolled his eyes.
"It's awful, man. I can't ever get a break with my a**hole of a boss. If he wasn't paying me so well, I'd quit in a heartbeat." he grumbled

"Can't blame the guy. You waste half the day flirtin' with any cute girl that walks past your field of vision. He's probably just jealous because his balls are locked up in the missus' purse." Leo laughed. "At least you don't have to deal with the manager's son as your 'apprentice'. I have to be at that p***k's beck and call almost 24/7."

Amber got up to go throw her cup away once she was done with the drink. She stared over at Bryce once more and then walked back losing interest in the conversation between Leo and Duke. Then thought about it again. She walked over to them and leaned on the counter. "Are either of you interested in joining my band?" She asked.

"Your band?" Leo asked. "I would, but I don't really play. I know a thing or two about the music industry, and I work with instruments all the time, but I don't really see me actually playing in a band. A few years ago maybe, but I'm more of a behind-the-scenes kinda guy."

"You're passing up a great opportunity." Chelsea said, finishing her drink and tossing it in the trash.

Duke turned to the girl, looking her up and down. She was cute, but not really his type. "A band?" he asked, scratching his head. He mulled it over for a few seconds and sighed. "It sounds neat, but I can barely hold down a decent job. Even Leo here would do better in a band than I would. No offense, buddy." he said with a small grin.
Bryce watched as the girl wandered off to talk to two other guys. He frowned and slowly came closer, trying to eavesdrop on them. What could she be talking about?

"None taken. But why would you want to start a band?" Leo asked, "It's fine to play music as a hobby, but being in a band isn't really a good idea. The music industry is hell on newcomers, and even if you start getting recognized something's going to go wrong." "I've seen it happen to too many people, some of my closest friends' lives were ruined because of the music industry." Leo said, "I'm not going to keep you from trying, but you may want to rethink it. Just think about what I said, and if you need to talk to me just call this number." he tossed Amber a business card: Leo "Blak Lotus" Wright Instrument sales/repairs, web design (XXX) XXX-XXXX

"Well...i actually had a band of my own but they quit so im rebuilding it. I have 2weeks to find replacements, have them learn the songs before the record company cuts me loose." She explained and then said, "The band would be ur only job. If you play an instruement and want to actually use it joining my band wud be a great thing to happen." She paused looking at Leo, "And yes it is hell for newcomers but thats just a part of working ur way up to the less hellish area. There will be ups and downs but if the band stays together..we can get through it." She said trying to persuade the two. She picked up the card, tapping it a couple times on the counter before turning it over. She grabbed a pen from the boys side of the counter and wrote her name and number down on it. "If you guys change your mind..call me." She said and walked away. "Come on Chels. Apparently I wasted a few moments of my life on these guys. I guess I'll just..go tell the record company I couldn't find anybody and to just forget that I ever came into their office...Looks like I'll be homeless from now on...always scrounging around for enough money just to get a bottle of water..." She said with a sigh, trying to guilt at least one of them into joining her band. If she couldn't recruit anybody, her back up plan was to see if they wud let her just go solo. Amber could sing and play the guitar. Now, Amber wouldn't let them know of her backup plan and just hope they wanted to join.

"Why the hell do they have to do that? I can never handle a f*cking guilt trip." Leo mumbled. He ran after Amber with his lunch order and stopped her before she left. "Okay, just come with me." he said, "I'll take you back to the shop and we can talk in my office. I need to drop this stuff off with the guys ASAP, so I don't have time to chat here." Leo explained. "Just climb in my truck with me, alright?"

"Woah, woah, woah. Wasted a few moments of your LIFE? Don't talk to me like-" Duke paused as Leo grabbed the girl, and he folded his arms. She must've been really desperate, to start guilt-tripping and insulting like that. He picked up the card, glanced at it, then picked up his cell phone as the two headed off.
If she's not just spitting out bullsh*t, and she's serious, give me a call, k? he typed in, sending the text to Leo.
"DUKE! GET OVER HERE, YOU SLACKER!"
Duke winced, giving one last glance at the girl, then ran into the back kitchen, mumbling about how he hated his job.

Amber smiled seeing that her guilt tripping skills were still useful. "Good." She paused and added, "How 'bout i follow you? I don't like to get into other people's cars if I don't know them very well." Amber walked out as he went to go drop off the lunch order. She went to her spot on the beach and smiled at Bryce. She gave him a small wave then turned and started to walk to her car. Today was going to be a successfull day.

Bryce waved back, his mind working a mile a minute. She was walking away, going out of sight...should he do something? He debated for a long while, then jogged after the girl. He pulled out a slip of paper as he ran, shakily scribbling down a phone number.
As soon as he was done, he shoved the pen in his mouth, gripping the paper tightly. He trotted up beside her, trying to think of how he should approach this.
Finally, he decided to just smile. However, having the pen in his mouth like a dog with a bone probably didn't look too attractive.

Just head down the street and turn left at the third intersection. It'll be the third building down the block. The one with the guitars on the sign."

((I bet you forgot all about Isi...don't worry, for a couple of days, I did too! Don't be guilty...I'm guilty enough for all of us and China too...that's a lotta people...*blushes*))
Isi walked from the bar to the beach, sipping her virgin strawberry daiquiri, her legs slathered in sunscreen. She couldn't go anywhere without getting burned. Her phone next to her vibrated. "Helllllloooo?" she drawled into it. "Isi, can you come by and pick up something for your mother?" It was her aunt May. "You don't have to come by today, but she needs it by the end of the week." "What, did she forget her toothbrush again?" Isi was being sarcastic...mostly. "No, she just forgot her phone. And you know how that will end up." Isi nodded, then remembered that her aunt couldn't see her. "Okay, I'll stop by soon." She picked up her daiquiri, threw the cup into the wastebasket nearby, and picked up her purse. She slung it over her shoulder and began walking to the beach parking lot. ((Yes...sadly, I included the beach parking lot. *sigh* It's amazing, the lengths you have to go to in order to get to a place where you have a one in a million chance of getting your arm bitten off by a shark...)) Just as she was walking to her car, a car nearly rammed into her. Isi stumbled, dropping her purse and smacking into a man. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she exclaimed. "Totally my fault." She ran a hand through her hair and picked up her purse. "I am so clumsy. And sorry," she babbled. "Really, my fault." She turned to walk away. "Where did I leave that stupid car," she muttered. "If I lose that thing again...sh*t, my drums are in there! If it got stolen..."
((BTW, if unclear...that man is Bryce. I am trying to be clever in my way of entering this band...sneaky...like a ninja! YAY NINJAS! ninja ...Sorry, it's this...obsession--that Lykie and I sort of have.))
