A'ight, I'ma get back to work on my profile. x3;

I'm somewhat interested, just not sure yet if I want to commit.

I guess I'd like to know more about the motivations of the dark side, how much you have structured, and how much leeway there is in creating characters. I'm fine enough with a dark dude seizing power, but what of his minions? Are they just magical constructs of his, with unswerving loyalty, or would each shadow be a unique individual? If they're flat characters, I'm not really interested, but I think it could be fun to create a few different shadows, kept in line through fear, twisted propaganda, personal sickness or insanity, and other diverse motives.

hmmm I will mull this over...

I don't mean to be overly critical, so just tell me if I get annoying, but you might want to add a bit more description about the world that your rp is set in.

For example, what kind of races and species live in the world. Your character is Darconian, but what does that actually mean in terms of skill, power, and background? What predominant features are they noted for, and what other species can a character be? What kind of animals are present in this world? Your character has a phoenix, does that mean that all fantasy creatures exist?

Also, a little description about the portals, their function, how they look/what they are, would also help to round out your roleplay. People can't write about places when they're not sure what kind of setting the rp should be in. Is it a medieval fantasy world, a technologically advanced world, or somewhere in between? What exactly are the portals? Are they cities? Rooms? Building of some sort? How does one enter, leave, or pass through a portal?

These are the questions you should be asking yourself. Everything may be fleshed out in your mind, but remember that an rp is made for many people to write together, it only works if everyone has a firm grasp of the world in their mind before writing. Even though you may be able to see it in your mind, others can't (unfortunately... or maybe it's fortunate in some ways. xD) see the images in your mind unless you put them in words in a post somewhere visible.

Was that a bit too much like a lecture? Sorry, I'm not trying to be nit-picky, I just feel like your rp is a good idea and it would be a shame if it didn't live up to your expectations because other people couldn't see the world well. It's off to a good start, but now you have to round it out and make it real.

Oh good. If I ever do get annoying, don't hesitate to tell me to butt out and mind my own business. I tend to be really curious about a lot of things, which generally translates to being a nosy busybody who tells people things they sometimes don't care about or want to hear.

I do apologize if I sound like I'm preaching at you, but I can get a bit carried away about things I'm passionate about... like writing... and I've never really been very good at subtle hints or tacit suggestions. I tend to just bluntly speak my mind... redface

If you're having trouble trying to decide what information you need to include in your posts, you might take a glance through the introductions of the other rps which are currently in progress. They can give you hints about how to organize your thread and what's most necessary to include, but really, my biggest advice is to read through what you have and ask yourself if other people without your inside knowledge would understand what has been written and be able to imagine your world along with you.
