I'm putting this idea out (well, a really, REALLY old role play I had set up quite a few years ago), since I'm thinking about reviving it here.

And, of course, I'm looking to see if anyone would be interested before I actually make the thread for the role play itself.

So... yeah. Here's the story:

Quote:
[ + Story + ]

The world of Avalar is a magical place, and is home to creatures beyond your wildest dreams. Avalar is home to three different Realms, where each Realm is home to several strange, distant lands that can be reached by magical portals.
Each Realm is home to royalty, Princes and Princesses that oversee the protection not only of their homes, but also of the creatures within the entire existence of Avalar. These Princes and Princesses are of different blood, race, and ability, but each share a special friendship with each other, a sacred peace that has lasted for what could have been an eternity.
The first of the Realms is known as Summer Forest; it is where the sun lingers over the sky, burning bright and hot – where there are no changes except for when the sun rises and sets. Flowers remain in bloom year long, and creatures roam the hills, change in neither temperature nor season. The castle of the Realm resides beside a calm, crystal-clear lake – this is where the Princess of Summer Forest resides.
Autumn Plains is as the name implies; here, it is Autumn year round. The trees, although they appear to be dying, always hold their colorful leaves – the transition between the seasons of Summer and Winter. The air is rarely hot, but the sun continues to rise and set in the sky, bringing a cool, autumn breeze for its creatures to enjoy. The palace of the Autumn Realm is set into a bold mountain, giving its Princess the ability to watch over all her Realm.
Winter Tundra, as you may have already assumed, is the Realm where the season of Winter is eternal. Creatures are yet abundant – those adapted to the weather reside within the realm. The landscape is dotted with trees, bushes, and mountains suited for the cold weather; as well as the occasional, not-always frozen, lake. And, though a rare sight within the Winter Realm, one can find a running waterfall (how else would they survive?), usually hidden within a cavern or connected to a small creek. The palace of the Winter Realm resides atop the tundra, protected by a dense forest of pine trees and marked by a large pool of water with dual waterfalls marking its elegance.

If the Prince or Princess can not be found in his or her respected Realm, they can be found in another Realm (visiting, for example), or in one of the separate Portals that are located within their Realms.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Peace had existed for centuries; the Realms, never at war, never in disagreement, always without bloodshed. A special Festival of Peace was held in a different Realm each annual; where they would celebrate friendship, peace, sometimes feelings that blossomed of something more than just friendship. It had been like that, peaceful, since before the Princes and Princesses were born, and they were happy. However, their story did not have a happily-ever-after.

Not much time had passed after the conclusion of the previous Festival, a shadow had begun to fall over the world of Avalar. Darkness came, shadows brought fear to the creatures, and began to wreak havoc among the lands. It was as if they had appeared out of thin air – shadows, monsters, attacked the Princes and Princesses, tried to either capture or kill them. As if someone had planned it. The shadows were able to shape-shift, whether from miscellaneous objects such as weapons, or from the treasures that each Realm possessed. The skies turned black, but only for a few days; a sign, an omen telling the Princes and Princesses that they were in danger. Whomever, and whatever, was controlling these shadows, monstrous creatures, would not stop until they had complete control over both the nobles and the entire world of Avalar.

Fortunately for the Princes and Princesses, not every Portal they entire prove dangerous for their safety. A few, albeit limited, sacred portals still provide safety for them, protecting from their enemies, the Shadows. How? It is unknown even to the creatures that guard the Portals, but, regardless, those are the few that serve as the only safe places they can hide, rest, and regain their strength before they attempt to fight for their Realms, for Avalar.

And so, the story begins here, with the Princes and Princesses fighting for their lives, their freedom...

Dunno how many charries to have, either... The "original" had 11-12, but that may be too much to fill here. =/

Thoughts?

There were two royals (M/F) for each realm, and a "leader" of sorts for the Shadow realm, plus 4-5 shadows (to fight the royals); genders were even numbers.

Oooh! Can I be the female fall one?

It may be easier to fill if there's only one ruler per land... then two shadows (like a boss and a lackey). Just an idea to help make it smaller. Then, if more people want to join, you can expand.

Mebbe. <__<

That's meh favorite one (also from the sample post xD ), but I may be willing to give her up.

That's what I was thinking, in terms of numbers. =3

OH.... okay. You sure? o.o
Otherwise it's fine. :3

Well, I'll just stick to the three main realms - can you guess which video game I got the names from? x3

If I played Winter I'd probably play her very... ironically. Like, she'd be super-outgoing and perky and warm instead of cold or distant like you'd expect... or maybe you would.

No... but it reminds me of a book I read once... I liked the concept of season worlds, even if I didn't like the plot so much.

Also reminds me of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. :3

It's up to you. o.o
I can be Summer, since I was born in the summer. xD
'Sides, it'd give me the chance to create a new character. =3

I haven't played many Zelda games, except for Windwaker on GameCube. D:
And the idea came from Spyro the Dragon for PlayStation. :3

So, lessee....

Autumn: Princess [Ixy]
Summer: Princess [Aislin]
Winter: Prince

Then:

Shadow leader-type person: Male
Shadow 1: Male/Female

Is 8 a small enough number, or should I reduce the shadow numbers? o.o

Ooooh. Windwaker is the best one wink

I'll do Fall then. I kinda have a design in mind for her. Also, if you don't mind short, short posts I MAY be able to talk my friend Elphie into this... if I can drag her away from the Wii long enough to post. She's almost beat Skyward Sword so I may be able to.

How short is short? As long as it moves the plot along, I don't mind.

Now, about recruiting others in the Guild... >D

Reduce the minimum required to like... 5. Otherwise it may implode upon itself, like many of our RPs do.
