User Image"Hmm," Grant said, staring thoughfully at the list of items he could pick from; Pokemon trainers get items that depend on their rank, and their rank gets better with every badge. And since Grant had no badges, he was stuck with the most basic of items: potions, antidotes, paralyz heals, awakenings, and Pokeballs. And, like most newbie trainers starting on their journies, he had three thousand dollars to spend. "I'll take five potions, two antidotes, and a Pokeball," he told the clerk. This took approximately 1,900 dollars. The clerk handed Grant his new items, who put them away and thanked the clerk. He turned to Argyle, who seemed to be watching with vague amusement, and said, "Alright, your turn."

User ImageSorrel giggled. "I learned to draw when I was seven. I picked up a piece of paper and a crayon. Next thing I knew, I had the lake outside of Pallet Town on my paper. It looked pretty good to me, and Professor Oak told me that I had real talent. So, that plus my researching, I pretty much never run out of things to do," Sorrel explained. Victor's next question caused her grin to fade completely. "Well, when I was three, my parents died in a car crash," she said, a tear forming in her eye. "I had no other family, so the town's professor took me in. As I grew up with Mr. Sammie, I grew to love Pokemon, and I wanted to research them like he did. So one day, I told him that. He smiled and told me that if I keep studying the way I do and I keep the burning passion I have for it, he'll let me travel the world, studying to be a top-notch professor." She wiped the tear from her face and smiled. "I'd be breaking a long lasting tradition, though," she joked. "My last name isn't a tree!"

Argyle smiled at Grant as he passed by, more of a pleasantry than anything meaningful.

He turned his gaze to the clerk and pulled his wallet out of his messenger bag."Distribute this between Antidotes, Potions, and Pokeballs please." He then handed the clerk the 3000 he had in his wallet.

The clerk handed him four Pokeballs, three potions, and two antidotes back, along with 200 in change. He turned from the counter and faced Grant again.

"So, off to Veridian Forest, huh? We'll want to keep an eye out for Beedrill. They can be dangerous if you're not careful. Even Weedle can give you a pretty nasty sting if you let them." He wasn't afraid of bugs, and he wasn't worried that they'd be hurt at all, but it was best to be careful anyway.

User Image

Vic winced a bit as she told him about her parents. "I can't relate. My parents are just fine, living together in Hoenn. In fact, if I hadn't gotten into a spat with my dad, that's where I'd still be. I can't even remember what it was over, just that I stormed off and said that I'd come back eventually. That was over two years ago." It had been petty and stupid, but he was far too proud to go back without some proof that he was doing fine for himself... and, well, the truth was that he really wasn't. He was little more than a drifter, moving from place to place constantly. He had been surviving on the money he could get for doing odd jobs and selling the more interesting things he could find.

This girl... she was going somewhere. She was talented and driven, two things that Vic had never been able to call himself.

User ImageGrant shuddered as they left the PokeMart and made their way to the forest south of Pewter. Bugs didn't scare him either, but the thought of a Beedrill's stinger... He shivered again, tightening the strings of his jacket. "Thanks for that, jerk," he joked, playfully shoving Argyle's arm. "Now I'm scared of getting stung! And even though it's, like, eighty degrees out here, I'm all of a sudden freezing!" He stuck his tongue out at Argyle, feeling quite childish, but like he deserved it all the same.

User Image"Well, then it seems like you picked a good group to travel with," Genesis said, closing the door to their room, fully dressed and hair and makeup done. "In just this group alone, we've got two trainers trying to become a Pokemon Master and a researcher to be. This group has talent, and some of it's bound to rub off on you, especially since you've got to have some already. Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to beat Argyle so easily. We could all be destined for great things, and the five of us meeting in this tiny room couldn't just be a coincidence. That's why we need to get out there. So Grant and I can fight to see who's gonna be a master first, Sorrel can become an amazing researcher, and you and Argyle can figure out what you want to do with your lives. And we'll be right there with you all the way." She beamed proudly at the both of them for her speech that randomly came to her as she heard Sorrel and Vic's conversation.

User ImageSorrel smiled proudly at the thought of one day becoming a great researcher, just like her mentor. She'd make her parents, and herself, proud. And Genesis might be right. The chances of the five of them staying in this one room together can't have just been a coincidence. Maybe fate did exist. "She's right," Sorrel agreed, looking at Vic. "I mean, I honestly think she's overdoing it a smidge, seeing as we all just met. After all, who knows what will happen? We could lose people, gain people, finish our journey, get stuck somewhere, or whatever. But it's nice to know that no matter what, you do have people who will keep their promises and stay by your side, no matter what."

Argyle laughed at Grant's antics. "Don't worry, I'm sure nothing bad will happen. Besides, I use fire types, remember? Even if they did attack us, I could protect you, no problem."

His smile beamed, something that hadn't been happening enough recently. He wasn't inherently broody, recent events just had a way to kill his mood. Especially with Victor around at every turn.

At first, he had tried to put what happened between them behind him, but the guy... he was so arrogant! How could anyone be so cocky!? Every word he said sounded like he was taunting him! More than anything, he just wanted to put Victor in his place... but that was for later. For now, he was having fun with his... friend? Was that what they were? Friends? Friends with benefitsish thing? Almost boyfriends? Something more than just acquaintances, that was for sure.

Argyle put his arm around Grant's shoulders to ward of his chill. It was what his mom used to do for him when he was cold before he moved out to see the world.

User Image

Victor leaned back against the nearest wall and smiled. Genesis was right, that was another thing he was good at. Battling. He was good at that. Damn good. He had once heard of a hotshot gym leader to be named A.J. who had won 100 consecutive battles. Maybe he would give that a shot once this journey was over. Make a name for himself that way.

But just because she was right didn't mean he wasn't going to let her get a leg up on him. Or maybe he would? That sounded fun. Mmm... NO. Mind out of the gutter. You have better things to do. Hm. Do... NO! Stop it, brain.

Shaking his head once to clear his mind of where his thoughts had mired themselves, he smirked. Back in his original line of thought, he wasn't about to let her think she had a leg up on him. "I never said I had no talent." I sure was thinking it, though. "I already know what I want to do with my life. I want to open my own gym." And even though he would never say it out loud, it felt pretty good for someone to say they had his back, even if it would take a little more than just words to prove it to him.

User ImageGrant blushed at Argyle's comments about protecting them, and it got him thinking about their relationship...or lack thereof. What exactly were they? They weren't boyfriends; that much was obvious. But they obviously weren't just friends either. He laid his head on Argyle's shoulder and sighed. He'd worry about it later. The two boys came up to the entrance of the forest, and separated. "Come on out, Caos!" Grant cried, throwing a Pokeball. When it hit the ground, a burst of light shot out and formed into a Zubat. It wouldn't be very strong against Bug types, seeing as it only knew Astonish, Leech Life, and Supersonic, but it was fast, and it could still do some damage. "Time to get some training in," Grant told Caos when he landed on his trainer's arm. "Maybe we can at least get you to learn Bite. It'd help against Rock types, as none of my Pokemon would work well against them." He thought. "Well, except for Dino," he added, referring to his Larvitar. "He's got Bite himself already. But as for Sparky, he won't be much help at all." He turned to Argyle. "Oh, right!" he cried. He reached to his belt and called out Dino and Sparky. "You guys, this is Argyle. He's a new... friend of mine. I'll introduce you to the others later." Caos and Sparky squealed with glee at the thought of a new friend, but Dino just huffed and turned his back on the lot of them. "Ah, Dino," Grant said, squatting down. "Still a bit moody?" He looked up at Argyle. "He doesn't trust me yet. Pokemon don't trust a newbie trainer sometimes, so I need to prove myself to him by winning against Brock," he explained. "Anyway," he continued, picking himself up off of the ground and calling back Sparky and Dino, "let's get to training, shall we?"

User Image"Oh, um, right," Genesis said, hurriedly correcting herself. "I knew you didn't say that, but, um..." She paused, then turned to Sorrel. "Hey, aren't you supposed to go take a shower?" she asked. Before the younger girl could answer, Genesis walked to the door, opened it, and said, "I'm going to get some coffee. Anyone want some?"

User ImageSorrel jumped a bit and squeaked at Genesis's comment. "You're right!" she cried, collecting her things again. "Sorry about that, I won't take long. And, um, no thank you. I don't drink coffee. Thank you though," she said, bowing and leaving the room.

Victor's eye's widened a bit. Coffee. Mmmm.... He couldn't remember the last time he had coffee. Coffee was expensive, and a luxury that he usually couldn't afford. The smell, the taste, possibility of addiction.... Yes. Yes, he wanted some coffee.

"I would absolutely love some coffee, if you don't mind."

He sat back and watched Sorrel gather her things and leave for the shower, and closed his eyes slowly as Genesis closed the door behind her. Once alone in the room, he slid to a sitting position against the wall. Almost immediately, the Absol marched over and sat down next to him. Victor placed his hand on the Pokemon's head and lowered his own down on top of it, carefully avoiding the sickle.

"What kind of situation have we managed to get ourselves into, huh bud? I mean, the girls are pretty, both seem pretty easy to get along with. The other guy doesn't seem so bad either. But are we actually gonna be traveling with the toolbag with the peach fuzz? I dunno. Maybe it'll be alright. Besides, if we run into any trouble, we can always just disappear one night, right?"

It wouldn't be the first time.

User Image

Argyle smiled at the Pokemon in front of him. He supposed that was his cue to let his out. He reached into his bag and found all three of them, pressing the button on each ball to increase it's size before opening the first. Almost immediately, a Cyndaquil popped out onto the ground in front of him. A Vulpix and a Ponyta were quick to follow.

"This is Kestral, the Ponyta, and Sienna, the Vulpix. And... y'know, I haven't actually named my new Cyndaquil yet."

It looked up at him with slight curiosity. "I'm gonna call you... Sizzle. All three of you, I'd like you to meet Grant and his Pokemon Caos, Dino, and Sparky. So, how should we do this?"

User ImageGrant gasped in delight at how adorable Sizzle was. He dropped to his knees. "Oh, my gosh!" he cried, picking up the fire-mouse and hugging it gently. "Now I don't blame you in the slightest for wanting to show off this little guy!" He turned and saw his Pokemons' reactions to this show of affection. "Oh, I'm sorry, guys," he cooed. "I was just a little caught off guard. You know y'all are my bros." He put Sizzle down and looked up at Argyle. "Sorry, that was kinda really gay of me, wasn't it?" He stood and wiped the dirt off of his pants. "Um, I guess we could just take turns fighting whatever shows up," Grant suggested. "Since I'm fighting Brock, I'll go first, then you, then repeat. That sound okay?"

User ImageGenesis sighed in relief after she closed the door to the room. That was awkward enough for her that she took her sweet time walking to the front lobby, then ordered a large cup of coffee for Vic, and a medium for her. She thanked Nurse Joy and grabbed a handful of creams and sugars. She made her's right there, adding in two small cups of cream and a tiny packet of sugar, stirring it in with one of the little black straws that they always had by coffee. Genesis remembered wondering what those little straws were for. They looked like it would take forever to drink your coffee with those tiny things. Then her dad told her that they were for stirring, but she'd never have to worry about it because he forbade her to drink it. The instant she turned twelve, she made a habit of drinking coffee every morning and flaunting it in front of her parents. Just one of the many things she did to rebel against her obnoxious parents. I wonder how they're doing, she thought, looking at one of the telemonitors along the wall. She thought about calling them, then shook her head. Maybe some other time, she thought. I'm busy right now. She made her way back to the room, forgetting completely about the awkwardness she had been feeling earlier. "Here you go," she told Vic, handing him his cup and the leftover creams and sugars. "And don't worry about paying me back," she added. "First cup is free here, and she believed my story about a friend wanting a cup. Just make sure you walk out with it so she has no reason to distrust me." She gave a mischievous grin.

User ImageSorrel walked back into the room, sighing in relief, dressed in some khaki shorts, a pink t-shirt, and some white tennis shoes. Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail again, and she was cleaning her glasses. "Sorry for the wait," she said, beginning to pack her suitcase, everyone else having done so already. "I guess it's time for us to go, right?"

Argyle smiled and nodded at Grant's suggestion. He was taking on Brock, after all. It only made sense for him to do the most training. Argyle liked to battle, but he wasn't ever going to be as good at it as some people. Even among his companions, he knew that Grant and Genesis were better than he was. Hell, as much as he hated to admit it, Victor was probably the better battler as well. Sorrel was questionable, but he wasn't very interested in testing it.

Maybe he'd open up a Pokemon daycare or something.

Either way, he knew he loved Pokemon, and whatever he ended up doing was going to involve them somehow.

"That sounds fine. However you decide you want to do it would be great. Just remember to be conscious of the time. You don't want to be late to the match."

User Image

Vic gratefully took the cup and downed a quarter of it in one go. God, how he'd missed coffee. He took a moment to add the sugar and cream before taking another long swig.

"Thanks. This is fantastic. Y'know, this is the first time I've had coffee in over a month. I used to be completely addicted to the stuff, back when my parents kept it in stock. They always told me not to drink it, but I would go behind their backs and drink it anyway. I think it was even better because I was doing something they told me not to."

He took another swig of the coffee and set it down at his side. He nodded to confirm that he'd carry the cup with him and moved to stand, grabbing the backpack next to the bed as he stood. He only had three sets of clothes including the one he was wearing, so he only really needed the one backpack to carry everything. "I guess we should get a move on. Where to then, cap'n?," he said, facing Genesis.

User ImageGrant looked at his phone. An hour had gone by since they'd left the Pokemon Center. "Four hours to go," Grant announced, tucking his phone back into his pocket. "Amazing how fast time can go by when you're hanging with a cute guy," he added, putting Sparky on his right shoulder, Caos on his left, and holding Dino in his arms. The little dinosaur apparently liked heights, because he was laughing and smiling and having a good ole time.

User Image"That sounds almost exactly like what I do with my parents," Genesis said, lifting her bag onto her shoulder and heading for the door. "They didn't want me drinking coffee either, so I waited until I was old enough then did it anyway, and right in front of them, too." As the three of them left the Pokemon Center to head to the gym, Genesis felt like a real member of this odd group. She didn't feel like she needed to watch her back around any of them, and they weren't too annoying all the time. She smiled a bit and looked at Vic. "You know, you're not as bad as I thought you'd be, looking at you. I thought you'd be a total jerk, or a freak, or something. And I'm not insulting you. I just like to express how I first felt about people if I don't end up hating them later. And I don't hate you!"

User ImageSorrel stayed quiet. Genesis and Victor were talking, but she didn't really listen to the conversation, finding it a bit boring. So she took out her sketch pad and began to draw the two older trainers in front of her. By the time they'd made it to the gym, Sorrel had a nice portrayal of Victor and Genesis's facial expressions: Victor's half smirk, and Genesis's Mona Lisa smile. They looked like an odd duo, but they sounded like old friends. She smiled and put her pad away as they entered the gym.

Victor cocked an eyebrow at the blue-haired girl's revelation. So, she had issues with her parents too, huh? He silently questioned the possibility that they were in similar situations. It didn't seem likely. She seemed to be much better funded than he was. The parent thing though, at least that was something he could carry on a conversation with.

"Oh man, you wanna talk about rule breaking, I remember this one time, my mom had just put a new carpet into the living room and told me that Abaddon wasn't allowed in the room. You can guess how well I followed that rule. We fought about that for weeks!"

It was interesting how well Vic seemed to fit in with these two. Well, not fit in, exactly. More like not stand out. And that was just as good. He noticed Sorrel's silence and stole a glance in her direction. When he saw her drawing, he kept silent, not wanting to distract her.

User Image

Argyle was smiling brightly. Not at anything particular, it was just that the whole situation felt like a pretty good one to be in. He was hanging out with his more-than-friends-ish person, and having a good time with their Pokemon, which were always a good addition to the day. Grant was definitely right when he said that time was flying. Just a moment ago, they were talking in the bathroom of the Pokemon Center. That couldn't have been a whole hour, no way.

"I know what you mean. It feels like we've only been out here for 10 minutes, tops."

User ImageGrant was about to agree when he heard a rustling. His Pokemon stiffened a bit, then calmed a bit as a young boy with green hair and glasses jumped out some bushes. He was wearing what looked like a white elementary school uniform, but with a black bow tie instead of a regular tie. "Woah!" Grant cried, falling back, never once letting Dino go. "Watch it, kid! You trying to give me a heart attack?!"

The boy straightened his glasses and smirked at Grant who was still on the ground. "The name's Wade McAlistair, not kid," he said, holding out a hand to help Grant up. "I'm a bug trainer."

"A bug trainer?" Grant asked, accepting the kid's help as Argyle walked up behind him. "You mean one of those kids who train here constantly with the butterfly nets?"

Wade's right eye twitched. "No!" he roared. "I'm not one of those losers! My Pokemon are actually tough." He pulled out three Pokeballs. "Here, let me show you. I challenge you to a three-on-three Pokemon battle with no substitutions!" He smirked. "And by the League federation rules, you can't deny my challenge!"6

Grant growled, baring his teeth like fangs, which Dino mimicked without meaning to. "Who said anything about denying your challenge?" He put Dino down and called out Caos. "Get 'em, Caos!" "Zu!" cried Caos, flying in the mock battlefield that Grant just now noticed. Wade had obviously made this field in order to trap trainers into fighting him. Grant didn't care though; he'd show this punk what he was made of.

Wade smirked at his choice. "Just because he's a Poison/Flying type doesn't mean you have advantage!" he cried, throwing one of his own Pokeballs. "Go, Beauty!" he called, summoning a Caterpie to field. It was tiny and still looked rather weak, but that's because Wade didn't have much of a chance training this one. He needed the experience anyway.

"Argyle, can you ref this battle?" Grant asked. Argyle nodded, then walked to the center of the sidelines. "I'll go first since you challenged me." Wade nodded. "Caos, Supersonic!"

"Beauty, dodge!" Wade called. The tiny worm wasn't fast enough, though, and was hit dead on by the waves of confusing airwaves. Beauty ran into a rock on the field continuously until it snapped out of its confusion. "Beauty, Tackle attack!" Then he cringed because he remembered that Zubats fly. Beauty couldn't help but miss.

"Caos, Leech Life!" called Grant, knowing full well that it wouldn't do much to a Bug type, but Beauty had already hurt itself a lot when it was confused. Leech Life easily knocked it out. "Yes!" Grant called. "Good job, Caos. Wanna keep going?" Caos didn't move from its spot, so Grant took that as a "yes".

"Beauty! Return!" A red beam shot out of Beauty's Pokeball and wrapped her in it, pulling her back inside the ball. "Good job, girl," Wade whispered. "Come on out, Lint!" He threw another Pokeball, and a Venonat came out, a giant purple fuzzball with large red eyes, a pair of antennae,, and two tiny hands and feet. "Try this on for size! Lint! Disable!" Lint's eyes lit up and Caos froze for a second, then landed on the ground, stunned.

"Caos, shake it off and use Supersonic!" Grant called. Caos took to the skies again and shot another round of waves, but Lint was faster than Beauty was, and he avoided it easily. "Keep trying until you're not disabled!" Grant commanded.

"Lint, Tackle attack!" Wade commanded, and, unlike Beauty was able to, Lint jumped and tackled Caos out of the sky. "Way to go, Lint!" called Wade. Lint jumped for joy and danced around the field.

"Not bad," Grant said, returning Caos to his ball and praising him. "But you haven't seen anything yet!" He pointed to the field. "Go, Sparky!" he cried. The tiny Joltik jumped off of Grant's shoulder and landed on the field. "Show him a Thunder Wave!" Tiny sparks came off of Sparky's back and got bigger, then blasted at Lint. It hit its target, and Lint lost the ability. "Good, now use Screech a bunch of times, then follow it with Leech Life!"

Wade couldn't do anything about this because he had no Paralyz Heals or anything. He watched his Venonat fell over, knocked over. "Good job, Lint," he said, returning that gnat back to its ball. "But now it's time you to say 'Hello' to our star player. Go, Buzz!" He threw the ball and out came a Kakuna, standing stock still.

Grant couldn't help it: he started to laugh. "A Kakuna? Give me a break!" He pointed at the cocoon Pokemon and roared, "Leech Life! Continuously!"

That's right, Wade thought. Keep attacking the harmless Kakuna. Until... Buzz glowed white after Sparky's final Leech Life. Out of the shell that was the Kakuna came an oversized bee. Buzz had evolved.

Right into one of Grant's worst nightmares. He gasped for breath and fell over. He couldn't even tell Sparky to move as Wade told Buzz to use Fury Attack, knocking out the tiny bug. "R-return!" he called, calling back Sparky. He looked at Dino, who looked raring to go. But Grant couldn't do it. He couldn't face a Beedrill. He curled into a ball and sat like that.
PostPosted: Wed May 09, 2012 11:58 pm

User Image

Argyle felt his heart drop as Grant shut down. He had expressed discomfort earlier at the mere mention of a Beedrill, he couldn't imagine what must be going through Grant's head as one actually faced him down, even if it wasn't a wild Beedrill. He had to do something.

"C'mon Grant, you can do it! I believe in you! It's just a Beedrill! Just look at Dino! He's more than ready to take out this bug!" Argyle realized it wasn't much, but from where he stood, it was all he could think to say.

"You're better than this! You're taking on Gym Leader Brock in a few hours! That's way worse than this one little bug! You're gonna be champion one day! Don't let this hold you down!"

User Image

Wade frowned heavily. He hadn't meant to cause this guy to have a breakdown, he just wanted his Kakuna to evolve... but that didn't matter! They were in the middle of a battle! If this guy couldn't continue, then he would have to forfeit, and that was all there was to it!

He felt his anger rise a bit as the other guy called his Beedrill "this one little bug" but kept his mouth shut. There would be time for talking later, after the battle was over. And at this rate, it wasn't gonna be much longer.

User ImageGrant gulped, smiling nervously at Argyle while thinking of some way to get out of this. But then he looked back at Dino again, who gave him a look of pure determination. That shocked Grant right out of his funk. He jumped up, noticed the Beedrill, and slumped a bit, but not enough to keep him down any longer. "Go for it, Dino!" he called, and Dino ran out onto the field. "Sandstorm attack! Then bite him!" Larvitar kicked up a sandstorm in the battlefield, then lunged at the giant bee. He bit down hard on its large abdomen, and that, plus the damage received from the sandstorm, Buzz was unable to battle. "We did it, Dino!!!" Grant called, running onto the field and picked up the Pokemon in a hug. The Pokemon squealed right along with him and hugged back... then remembered the small amount of respect he had for his trainer, so he hit his head and jumped out of his arms. "Oh, right," Grant said, rubbing his head. "Forgot about that." He returned Dino to his ball and looked at Wade. "Good match," he said. He then turned to Argyle. "I won!" he cried, running up to the boy and hugging him tightly. "I beat more than just Wade. I beat my fear! And I couldn't have done it without you and Dino." He blushed and pulled away a little, keeping their arms connected. "Thanks," he mumbled.

Argyle blushed just as red as his arms pulled Grant in for a second hug. He hadn't meant to, his arms just kind of did. "Anytime." he mumbled back.

He released Grant from the embrace and looked over at the boy who called himself Wade. That had been a dirty trick, ambushing other trainers like that, but he couldn't really blame the kid. He had just wanted to train with his Pokemon, even if that meant being a little bit dishonest.

Half way through his musings, Argyle realized he still had one hand on Grant's arm. He didn't move it.

"You did great! You showed that Beedrill who's boss! I knew you could do it."

User Image

Wade had heard just about enough from the guy with the not-beard. Nobody talked about his Pokemon that way! Especially not some prettyboy stranger! He was Wade McAlistair, the future Bug Pokemon master!

He called his Beedrill back to it's ball and told it it had done well before storming across the makeshift field.

He first turned his attention to the clean-shaven one. "That was a great match. Thanks for helping me evolve my Kakuna." His expression changed almost as quickly as his tone when he faced Mr. Almost Beard. "Who in the world do you think you're talking to!? Just a bug! I'll have you know that that Beedrill was my first Pokemon back when it was a Weedle! Do you know who I am? I'm Wade McAlistair, and I'm gonna be the greatest Bug type trainer the world has ever seen! You remember that name, because it'll be more famous than you could ever be one day! Just a bug. Hmph!"

After his tirade, Wade turned around and examined his Beedrill's Pokeball.

"I guess I'll have to go to the Pokemon Center now... man, and I was really hoping to get Beauty to evolve today as well..."

User ImageGrant smiled at Argyle, but then turned to Wade, frowning. He really had only done this to get his own training, and Grant had gotten in the way. Grant left the warmth that was Argyle's arms and walked over to Wade. "Hey," he said, tapping his shoulder. "Look, I need to go to the Pokemon Center, too. Do you wanna come with us? And, hey, maybe we can train together as well? We can help you get your Beauty to evolve into a beautiful Butterfree." Grant held out his hand kindly. "What do you say, soon to be Bug Champion Wade?"

User ImageThe sliding doors opened for the three companions, which made Genesis flinch a bit. Calm down, she told herself, inhaling and exhaling slowly. It's only the registration. It's not like you're fighting him right now, or today even. That made her smile a bit. She'd be getting more of a handicap than Grant would, because she'd come in here tomorrow knowing Brock's style of battling. She walked up to the man standing by the plaque, on which only two trainers names were written. "Gary and Ash," she read aloud. "Only two have made it?"

User ImageSorrel felt ecstatic upon entering the gym with Victor and Genesis. She'd never seen one before. The first room was dark, and not much stuck out, but it was cool and a bit misty, like a cave. She had to hold back a squeal of delight. "Or, only those two have tried," Sorrel told Genesis, continuing to look around the gym. "Not many people come here to face Brock. He's supposed to be hard on beginner trainers. "This is all just speculation, of course."
