She would walk into a rain forest, trees of every shape and size could be found here. Growing from the depths of the earth, spreading as far as any trees could range ...as they grew and twisted and turned in the wind.
It was a lovely place to see, and the reason why there was no sickness here would become clear as she pass by the first set of trees. They grew their own flora here, which meant, that none of theres trees were native to this place.
It was probably how Nurse Rachel Joy had figured out that the contamination was in the water or in the plants themselves.
It would be a boy with a soccer ball that would greet her on the path up to the place.
"Hello ma'am welcome to the Pink Island gym."
The boy would declares with a big smile that revealed in the 6 year old mouth the odd missing teeth and so.

Jasmine looked at the surrounding flora and cursed, for a moment it had seemed like an ideal place to collect samples, but as soon as she could work out and imagine that none of these plants fit the profile she was looking for...
She blinked when she realised she was being observed, and turned, dipping a quick bow to the boy, "Hello!"
She cleared her throat as she rose her head up, "Excuse me, my name is Jasmine Sumisu, I'm from the mainland, I'm here about the illness on the island."
"I wanted to speak to your Gym Leader regarding it, if they're here just now?"

He would toss the ball high as he catches it twice on the head as though he was using it to help him process Jasmine's request before turning and screaming full volume ....." MOMMMA!"
It would seem that this kid is the gymleader's child ...as his voice echos in the distances and to their left, one of the flora would start to move to reveal a Deerling. The small pokemon would dip his head to them, and then bound deeper into the forest.
IT would return later with a woman mid-age at it's side.
"Well, hello there, Nursey in training."
She would declare with a wide grin on her face. It would seem very strange that she would know that information since Jasmine herself haven't told anyone that, or even stranger that the Deerling that walked at her side would seem to almost press itself against her.
"I welcome you to this gym ....how can I be assistances to you and your kin."
She asks with a bit of a curtsy. A woman of middle statue with blonde hair, and a wearing a dress of red and white with flowers dotting the pattern of it in randomn spots.
"THe name is Gymleader, Marigold."

((Well, I may be at work, but I DO have something to show you when you get back~)) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8050693/((Hee, minus the epic Cheza cape and her current cast)) As she watched and waited for the boy to quickly process her thoughts, she would nearly have leapt backwards at his shout, but smiled at his miniature revelation as to the gym leaders identity, turning slowly... Jasmine looked at the Deerling and stood stock still, respectful, quiet, as one would see a child do, but as with all encounters, there it bounded off, and then returned just as quickly with the woman in tow, and Jasmine would blink, clearing her throat and slightly flustered by the not rather unattractive lady before her, she would remove her wide hat and give a light bow, her head still covered by the wrapped shawl and the bandages beneath that, but she'd at least try to look good and civil there. "Marigold." She repeated to take it in, "My name is Jasmine, it's nice to meet you, ma'am!" It was hard to say how she had changed so far... A month or so ago, she'd never even have had the courage to look up at the gym leader there, never mind admire the view... But how did she know she was a nurse? She looked at the Deerling for a second, unless she could somehow understand it... Well, Regal had been able to talk human, hadn't he? Unless of that, had she been listening the whole time in the hiding of th is forestry? By all appearances, it seemed easy to guess her gym's type... "Although, I do wish it could have come under circumstances... .I'm trying to find out about the mysterious ailment a lot of your island's inhabitants are suffering from." "For samples for a possible cure... And possibly better, I f I can find out what caused all this trouble," "If I'm right in looking at your gym's environment... Forgive me for being impetuous and guessing you raise mainly grass type Pokémon?" "I'd like to ask if you could help me find the necessary samples and cause... Or if not, at least ask you a for more questions that might help identify this ailment." "I was hoping as gym leader you might be able to help me regarding this?" A small Happiny poked into view as Nightingale peered out to glance slowly at Marigold...

"Yes, I choose the Grass type for my gym."
Marigold would declares with a smile as the Deerling would do her own sort of a bow as she lower her head.
"I am always willing to take challengers, but, it seems as you have noticed our island is having a few problems." "I can't tell you much about the disease other than the fact that it showed up a week or so."
"Before that everything was fine, and as you have noticed ....the solution to not getting sick is quite obvious." "YOu can't eat or drink anything from this island ...if you do ...well you shall suffer."
"Luck was with me, that I have always insisted on having an enviorment that can sustain itself." "Grass type pokemon have always been the best at such a task."
"But, I can't really help you much with finding ....any necessary samples." "Instead, I think I can do something of equal worth."
The woman would pull from a pouch on her side two berries.
"These come from my own garden ..use them if your pokemon are hurt."
She would hand over to Jasmine a Sitrus and an Oran berry.
"Good luck."
She told Jasmine ...as she turn to walk away. The deerling following along with the little boy with the soccer ball ...that was only as much help as the woman can give her.

Jasmine would hold out her good hand and gratefully accept the berries, then back to Marigold she would look, "Any help is enough, thank you."
"I haven't much idea on layouts out there, it might be handy to have these in emergencies."
She'd bob her head one last time as mother and son would head further inside along with the Deerling, as she would instead place the berries safely in her satchel, then replace her hat slowly from where she'd pinned it with her cast.
"I promise if things get better and I'm allowed some spare time, I'd like to come back and try your gym."
"I might not like battling, but I wouldn't want to leave without thinking I've earned these berries rightfully!"
She smiled, and turned, heading on out as Nightingale would plod at her side, Jasmine sighing as they'd exit...
One week ago.
Marigold hadn't answered much, but now she had a timeframe... It was all much the same as Joy had told her... Her joy... Alison.
But now she had a timeframe.
What could change in a week?
Unless she found someone else to question, she was best moving on...
And thus she looked lef and right. East and West, she had to go down both roots to find her items... No sense not getting to work and keeping eyes peeled to samples whilst at it...
But which first?
Out she'd pull a coin...
"Nightingale? Heads or Tails?"
The Happiny blinked, then turned around pointing to her backside.
Nightingale was toward west, she toward east...
Up the coin flew, Mayikarp, lank, Magikarp, blank...
And landed.
Tails.
"Alright then," Jasmine would adjust her crutch then grin, "West it is..."
And thus the two headed on.
((Whee, back to work again!))

"Huh..."
[Huh...]
"The Joy in- Rachael said THIS was the way to find an Apricot Berry, wasn't it?"
Jasmine looked to the Happiny at her feet and began moving forward slowly, looking up and down the field, it was wide and open, which was nice on her at least, easier to move about in...
Still... so many trees looked barren, were they the diseased ones?
She'd need to make a closer look at them...

As she was inspecting one ....a Murkrow the color of pink would look down at her. It's feathers were missing in some of the places, and it's eyes were dull instead of the vibrate color of black that most Murkrow's eyes are. A creature said to be of misfortunate itself ...this one seemed to have fallen on hard time s...as she came lower in the limbs. Her eyes seemingly to brighten up just a bit at the sight of the Happiny as she flapped her wings and without warning came at her.
It would seem that though the Happiny hates to fight the same couldn't be said of the diseased bird as the Murkrow in it's sickness was easier to rage than any other time ....in it's normally violent life.
With claws outstretch it would move to attack fully.

Jasmine saw a flash of pink, that was about it.
Before the girl could look round, the Murkrow had already flown past her, and Jasmine knew there were only two alternatives...
One, recall Nightingale, that needed a steady hand and aim...
Or two: she reached to her holster and flung another ball forward to the battlefield, as it burst open, the Murkrow would rush in, talons waiting, and find talons scraping uselessly on a steel form far too large to grab or pull at individual plates, as a head reared, and an iron bird now stood before her, glaring through Pink Goggles.
Nightingale blinked, the whole thing had been in gone in and instant... and she was still in the thick of it all!
[We only need ONE test sample, isn't that right...?] She cawed slowly, a slow spreading smirk going over her beak as she met a look upon the bird.

The pokemon's peck would aimed at the Happiny's head. Her beak striving to drive into her skull even ....as as she flapped her wings to help blind the Happiny. This was her swift and powerful attack ...her movements enough to take even the best of her opponent off guard. Her eyes twinkling ...in that insanity that almost could be completely attributed to the illness, but there was a deeper darkness that wasn't cause by that sickness and it was what drove her attack as she struck.

The crazed Murkrow wasn't scared of Bltzwing? Not only was it not scared, it just kept going for the Happiny!
The Skarmory wasn't going to stand to for it, as suddenly plates would gape open, armour would split and widen until she would make herself look taller, wider, fanning out her wings like a curtain of hanging blades, trying to put herself between the bird and the nurse!
As it tried to fly around Ironclaw, Jasmine looked on, she couldn't get a clear shot to recall Nightingale!
Jasmine swore under her breath at the whole thing, this was swasting time, but if it kept attacking, they'd have to deal with it... And Nightingale needed to learn her way around a fight somehow... No sense in delaying it... "Nightingale!"
"Roll into a ball!"
Nightingale blinked over, looking wholly unconvinced... Attacking sounded okay, but why say to do THAT?
"Quickly!"
The Happiny didn't know really in her own mind what to do, but... If this was how it went... She suddenly curled, and before she knew it, she was rolling backwards!
((Roll 1, Ironclaw's protection, Roll 2, Nightingale's dodge))
((Whee, another two hours before I'm out~))
((Edit: ... that could have gone better))

(11 - 8 + 15 - 6 = 12dmg)
The attack would hit against her ....savagely as the Murkrow had managed to avoid hitting the metal bird, and had struck strong and true against the small ball. It was a two on one situation as the bird powered it's wings to get back up and high into the air. A caw coming from it's beak as it did so ....as it's wings would flap the air as it forced itself to climb up higher and higher ...to get above any incoming attacks ....as it's eyes redish in the light would lock back upon the Happiny.
she would go down first.

Jasmine looked on, and what she saw was not encouraging, as the Murkrow would find its mark, and then Nightingale would be bowled backward for several yards before she would meet a rock on the uneven surface that smacked her with a sickening impact, causing her to unfurl, dazed and hurt...
Jasmine grimaced, that was enough of an indication for. Her. "Return!"
Nightingale's ball took her in, vanishing in red light, and now, what had been one on one, now had returned to one on one, as Ironclaw turned only now to see how swiftly the Murkrow had followed upon its selected prey.
"Ironclaw, your turn."
The bird would have snarled, if she had the time, to be outflows by a bag of feathers like that?
Now she'd show it what a REAL Peck was like, she took off skyward, wings flapping rapidly as she pushed herself, until she could fold them down, with neck held straight and pointed beak first, she was like a Skarmory shaped bullet with targets set upon the pink Murkrow's hide!

Though the Murkrow was a fast bird, she would flap her wings strongly as she would take off ...dodging that beak even as she gain the necessary height. She had no fear that that attack would have hurt....if it had hit, but she had no plans of letting it hit her ....as she narrowed her eyes and drew her wings in tightly against herself. She allowed herself to fall like an arrow towards her opponent once more ...she saw no reason at this moment to change her attack.
What was good for the Happiny is good for the Skamory as she came at the bird swiftly once more using peck. She was going to teach that metal bird whom was the real ruler of the skies ....her kind wasn't known as the foreteller of misfortunate for nothing .....she thought as she swoop with talons outstretched. She was would hook and peck all at the same time.
