He shook his head as if he could physically rearrange his thoughts. “That doesn’t make sense!” he protested, frowning. “Who would want to just sit and listen to someone else ramble? The world doesn’t work that way!” Does it? He tried to think of the last time he had actually conversed with another person. He couldn’t drum up a time. Of course, he often went out of his way to avoid others, not wanting to deal with pity over his short comings. Or reminders of the same.
Seb yawned silently as she, once again, revised her opinion of this current little show. The mare seemed decent enough. The little stallion, however, was a moron. Eh… alright, so her opinion didn’t really need revising, just reiteration. If something interesting didn’t happen soon, she was liable to fall back asleep. Mmmm…. A nap… now that sounded like a good idea. Everything kept swinging back to that, didn’t it? Well, maybe not to the two interlopers, but they were the ones who had interrupted her nap in the first place. She stretched a bit then settled down again. There… she moved an inch… time for a break.

"Yeah, actually," Jade said flatly, her tail twitching restlessly. It did feel like she'd gone over this before, maybe once or twice. "That's pretty much how it goes. And lots of people have perfectly reasonable conversations. Just like that."

“But why?” he huffed. “I could see someone listening to something they find interesting, or someone they care about. But you couldn’t possibly find me interesting OR likeable. So why?”
It was a good question. Seb was definitely getting tired of listening to him whine.

“Entertaining?” he repeated, stiffly. He wasn’t certain he liked being viewed as entertaining. On the other hand, it made sense to stick around someone if one got amusement out of it. And, he reluctantly admitted, just because someone found him amusing didn’t necessarily mean that they were being cruel or spiteful. It hadn’t happened often in his experience, but he had heard that it does happen. Why, whole herds humored children because their antics were endearingly entertaining. So was she viewing him as a child? Or did she just like watching him flail? Either was possible. He didn’t like either option, but again… that didn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing, right? She had been… relatively polite so far. She hadn’t been mean… exactly. Maybe she was just curious? Ugh… this whole socializing thing was confusing.
Entertaining? That’s it? That’s all he had to say? He’d spent all this time whining and complaining and grumbling, and now all he had to say was one word? And not even his own word! He just repeated what the mare said! That was… that was… that was cheating! That was… parroting! Where was the ranting? Where were the self perceived insults? Where was the snapping and snarling? Was he going to start warming up to the mare? Yawn. Boring. Or… maybe not. She considered for a moment the possibility that he would be more interesting when he was being nice. It was a slim possibility, granted. Most people were boring when they were nice and interesting when they were irritating. But then again, being angry took up too much energy. Maybe he was finally figuring that out.

Jade laughed, "Oh yes, entertaining." She sized up the stallion again, finding she had perhaps misjudged him initially. This fellow wasn't really so bad, if maybe a little clumsy, but it seemed like he'd had some rough times in the past. Really rough. Oh, and he liked to yell too much. That was a bit of a detractor. "So...listen, I know you were upset and everything earlier, but I hope you're doing better now. No hurt feelings over the whole thing, right?"

Sebastiana tilted her head slightly, wondering if that would really work. So far the little stallion had been so overly sensitive that it had been almost comical. Mostly annoying, but slightly comical. Would he fly off the handles yet again? Or would he actually accept the mare’s figurative olive branch? If Sebastiana was the betting type, she would have said that he’d shoot off his mouth again. But she really wasn’t the betting type. That was far, far too much work.
Seible twitched slightly, thrown and uncertain about her behavior. "Er... I.... suppose," he muttered.
Well, what about that? Sebastiana shook her head slightly. She would have lost that bet. So the little pain in the neck had some surprises in him. Either that or he genuinely didn’t know what to make of the larger mare. Seb didn’t think Padme was that unusual, but the little stallion clearly did.

Jade nodded, very pleased with the situation and how things seemed to be working out. Maybe she wasn't such a total social klutz. "Good good," she said cheerfully swishing her tail back and forth. "I normally wouldn't care too much about the types of hurt feelings I left in my wake, but honestly you seem like a nice enough fellow - when you're not yelling all the time, that is - and I think I'd like to hang out with you again. You've got an interesting perspective on the world and you can take my guff - not everyone can do that, you know."

“No… I don’t know…” Seible muttered, floundering even more. What in the world was this female talking about. She thought he was a good fellow? Even after everything he’d done and said so far? Was she messing with him? No, no, he’d already figured out that she wasn’t. But what in the world was she doing?
Hey, whoa, hold on a minute! Seb stiffened a bit. The green one wanted to HANG OUT with the little crank? She couldn’t possibly want to be friends with him! Sebastiana was never going to get rid of them! They were going to stand there and jabber on and on and on and on all day! She was never going to get back to her nap! This was absolutely unacceptable! Frustration bubbled up and she gave an audible groan. “Oh come on!” she growled, finally making her presence known. Maybe she should have kept silent, but she simply couldn’t take this anymore. A moment ago they were amusing. Back when it looked like they were each going to run off in a huff in their own directions. Not now. Not when they’re getting all buddy buddy. Oh no.

Jade raised an eyebrow and looked off in the direction that the sudden, unexpected voice came from, "Well hello there..." She muttered, frowning and thoughtfully looking at the shrubbery. "Friend of yours over there?" she muttered to the stallion. Without waiting for an answer Padme Jade called out, "Come out, come out! No need to be shy...although it is awfully rude to spy on people like that. My gosh how long have you been there anyways?"

Seible jumped, startled at the noise and scowled, not at all pleased that he had been caught off guard. Again. There must be something about this mare that he was speaking to. Yes, that had to be it. It couldn’t possibly be that his senses were going or that he had been distracted.
Come out? Oh no, that was way too much work. She was staying put. “If you want to see me, you’ll have to come here,” she grumbled. “And I wasn’t spying.” What was a lie or two? “I was NAPPING. Or at least I was trying to until you loud mouths came along!”
