She flinched a little when he touched her, but didn't move away.
Her heart skipped a beat, terror rising up in her as she said, "No."

He stepped forward again, turning so he could nuzzle her neck and fold two of his wings over her. There wasn't really anything he could think to say to make her feel better.

Ravyn leaned into his touch desperately. She didn't want him to see her cry, and she had to admit that even now, maybe especially now?, his touch was soothing to her.
"What does that have to do with anything?" she asked, her voice muffled against him.
