Her gift had been a big hit and Peyton was all pride and smiles after America had finished peppering her face with sloppy kisses. "I'm really glad you like it." Maybe it was silly, but The wonderland weddings had meant something to America, and Peyton loved the other girl like a sister.

When others arrived the dainty Sun allowed herself to be shuffled into the background, at least momentarily. America had a lot of friends that were showing up to wish her a happy birthday.

It gave Pey the opportunity to slip off to the food table after giving an affectionate pinch to one of America's elbows. If that caught the red head's attention she'd jerk her head in a nod towards the delicious looking spread to indicate that she'd be over that way if the taller girl wanted to find her.

Of course her leaving meant others were free to take her place. That had been the point, but if she'd known Lawr would be the one to fill the gap she'd have just stayed put. He didn't seem to be doing anything, at least at the moment, so she didn't see a need to hurry back over, but she did flick numerous glances in that direction as she helped herself to a slice of pie.

Lawr frowned just a fraction as he seemed to try and figure out which was the best expression for the accusation, he decided just to settle for the frown itself. "There may have been a miscalculation with a BMI and some alcohol consumption" he said. "I wasn't really paying attention to what I was drinking. I mean, a cowboy doesn't need to pay attention to that sorta thing." He'd been too busy paying attention to her.

He stood up to his full unimpressive height and tried to look imposing and unphased, but the slight sway to this completely ruined the effect. "So yes. Maybe a little bit intoxicated. Too much to - " he mimed writing in the air. "To write you a words. Butch keeps telling me I should just put my head in your lap or give you a paw. I keep trying to explain I already gave you a paw hahah and did the former in some respects too." There wasn't normally a substantial filter between Lawrence's thoughts and words, but right now even that flimsy degree of self control was missing.
