Hivestuck  My name is: Pragma Comsen I am in team: Orange My final score was: 7 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 ( 63) Feeling inspired by his success in breakfast foods, Pragma decided to stick with the theme. While Omini hadn't taught him much else, he figured he could try his hand at pancakes on his own. There was a whole tub of instant pancake mix; how hard could it be. Starting on his typical 8 dishes, he quickly realized it was going to get out of hand. There was too many things to juggle: mixing the ingredients til there wasn't any lumps, doling out the right amount of batter, and flipping and making sure it wasn't over or undercooked. It was all too much and it quickly escalated to a blackened mess on the stove. Frustrated, he threw the mess into the trash as he packed his things to leave the stage. Well, at least he had made it this far. And done a pretty good job as well, if he did say so himself!

She started big, she went bigger, and then suddenly everything was on fire. She hated being asked to leave, and as she did, she looked, morosely, at the game board. She had failed her team. Odette took some deep breaths, shaking off her nerves. This competition couldn't be too horrible, could it? After sweeps of having little material to make good food, Odette became a master at making edible meals out of (sometimes literal) garbage. She could do this. She just had to keep reminding herself that.
The only thing left to give her nerves was the time constraint. And well, the kitchen. Odette never managed a kitchen like this. Everything had nobs and buttons, and Odette didn't even know what most of them did. All of these scary buttons, staring back at her, terrorizing her. It was driving her mad. She took another deep breath, and got to work.

Odette rolled up her sleeves and got to work. What was she going to make? There was a lot of seafood at the ready, but Odette wasn't really sure how to prepare anything with that. There were plenty of poisonous finbeasts out there, and Odette had no clue how to tell which were poisonous, let alone how to prepare them properly. Nervous, she just grabbed an assortment of bags and brought them back to her station. Peppers, Potatoes and Musclebeast Milk? She guessed she could work with that.

Odette screeched as the fire alarm went off. Oh no, had she not been paying attention to her mish-mashed flambé? Odette turned quickly to the source of the noise, only to find another chef running wildly with their hair on fire. She felt a strange mix of pity and pleasure, happy that she hadn't lost total control of her kitchen yet. Maybe she was better at this cooking thing than she thought!

Whisking until her arms were tired, Odette tossed the featherbeast yolk mix into a pan, throwing whatever other materials she had at the ready into the pan with it. Wow, eggs cooked so quickly, this was a great idea! She quickly plated the dish, giving herself enough time to throw a little garnish on there. For sentimentality's sake.

Taking deep breaths, Odette tried to make it through her nervous panic. She could make it through this! She wanted to win for her team and make everyone proud, but... Everyone was screaming and running and all Odette wanted to do was go back to her hive and curl up into a ball. One troll had accidentally stepped on her foot, nearly throwing her into a worse panic. Not her feet— anything but that. She'd take a pot of boiling water over breaking her feet.

Hivestuck My name is: Odette Cygnet I am in team: Redblood My final score was: 37 Screaming at the fire, Odette worked desperately to try and fan the flames out. By feeding it with air, she only contributed more to the problem, and the fire quickly spread to the rest of the ingredients she had on the counter. Some event drones had to come in and handle the fire, and Odette backed away. She hid her face in her hands, face flushed brightly from embarrassment. She ran off the stage as quickly as her legs could carry her.

It could have been said that Cebass was one of the smallest things that could go into this kitchen. He could easily fit in one of the large pots! He was just a child after all so that was to be expected. At least he wasn't so tiny that he needed a stool or something to reach the counter. He removed his coat and gathered his ingredients, ready to begin his first set of dishes.

So far his time cooking had gone well. He was working on some meat, pounding it to tenderness and then seasoning. some gravies and whatever else he thought could go into these dishes. There was a bit where he thought maybe the foods were a bit overcooked. But he pulled through in the end.

He was on a rolll! Things were absolutely perfect at this point and he was confident that he would have one of the higher scores in the kitchen. At the very least he'd have the neatest working station. Praise be to the organized for they will survive hell and can actually get what they need to without being brought down to shame and tears.

There was so much to do and so little time but he was so close, so very close. He could practically feel the success with each dish he completed. This was turning into a pretty alright day! Well, alright as alright can get. Now if only he was just a little bit taller he'd feel a lot more comfortable in the kitchen.
