Argyle's lamentations could be heard clear across the cavern, of this there was likely no doubt.
Right behind them would be the mournful croaks of Jekyll. Humidity they could handle. This place could have been a sauna and they would have been feeling pretty, witty, and gay!
Instead it was like a house in the north with the heater on too high. It was an oppressing degree of warmth. His nose was whistling, his lips feeling clammy as the saliva dried on them, and his throat was feeling parched just from breathing. If there was a desert at the end of this place he was going to go back to the Academy and kill whoever picked this place as a trainer ground. Not with his bare hands. That could be messy. Maybe with a scarf or something.
Bah. He'd justhave to get this over with before plotting any violence.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 3 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. Stats: HP: 16/16, PP: 19, ATK: 9, DEF: 8, SPD: 8, SP-ATK: 9, SP-DEF: 7 MOVES: - Astonish - Headbutt - Meditate - Mud-slap Held Item: EXP: 58/100

Nothing. Well nothing but rocks, darkness, and heat that was. Argyle almost wished he'd run into something just so he could take his anger out on it. Which wasn't strictly speaking healthy, but it was effective, and more importantly there were no witnesses.
Grumbling under his breath Argyle would trudge forward. Hopefully he'd calm down before he met anything.

The youth had landed on a rough and rocky beach. Hot, dry wind would blow past him, kicking up bits of sand and stone in it's wake. Distantly, a rumble of the churn earth rang out.

It was hot, humid, and just plain awful. It would seem they were at the base of a volcano. Kiani rolled her eyes and looked down at Balrog. "Alright Balrog, let's do this." She said, and with determination, she began walking up the path.
Barely three feet down the trail the pair would be met with their first encounter. What luck! Of course rather than that exciting first meeting most trainer's hoped for, Kiani would instead find herself looking into the sleepy eyes....well eye anyway...of a Numel. Eyes only half open the Fire-type was slowly shuffling across the path. He didn't seem particularly interested in fighting them but he wasn't exactly going to sprint away at a moments notice.

They had barely gotten down the path when a pokemon sauntered past them. It was a numel, and it looked rather sleepy like most numel did. Kiani wasn't sure if she wanted to battle it or not, so she turned to Balrog. However, she decided not to confront it and let it go on it's way. While she didn't like passing up a battle, she didn't feel like starting a battle at this very moment. Together, Balrog and Kiani attempted to move past the numel without disturbing it.

Venturing further into the Volcano area, Kiani would be met with an interesting mixture of sound and sights....although this show in particular wasn't for her. On either side of a large flat rock two sticks burn liked torches, or perhaps even candles. Mood lighting. The grass rustled as a low, but sweet voice began to sing an emotional but wordless song. Black fur peaked through the grass, and soon a Litleo would saunter seductively forth as if a beautiful songstress stepping out from the curtain. Stepping onto the rock she stretched, rolling onto her back in an enticing manner before winking over her shoulder at Balrog. It seemed as if her long, surprisingly thick lashes were trying to persuade him to come over. Evidently this Litleo was trying to seduce Kiani's, and she was using Entertainment to do so!

It was easy to sneak past the numel, however, Kiani and Balrog soon stumbled across another pokemon. And this one was definitely up for some interaction. Balrog was quite interested in the female litleo that stepped forward, swaying like a seductress and blinking long eyelashes. His ears swiveled forward as he tilted his head to one side. However, ever the serious soul, he looked to Kiani for guidance. Kiani, on the other hand, wasn't amused by this female's attempt, but she could see some potential in her. While she already had Balrog by her side as a litleo, she was tempted to catch this one. It was part of her mission, after all, to catch a pokemon. While two pokemon of the same species wasn't technically an advantage, she wasn't adverse to the idea. After all, she enjoyed the idea of breeding strong pokemon and to do that, it would be good to have a male and female of each species. Looking down at her companion, she nodded, "Alright Balrog, let's test her mettle in an actual battle. Use tackle." She said. A pokemon with this attack might come in handy at some point. But she wanted to battle first.
">You're moves are fluid milady, but let's see how you do in actual battle.<" Balrog said to the other litleo. With that, he charged.

">Oh my! Frisky are we? I'm afraid I'm not that easy though~<" The Litleo mewled as she easily sidestepped Balrog's attack, the tip of her tail briefly flicking under his chin. She wasn't about to make it that simple for him....although that didn't mean she couldn't play the damsel. Once more laying down across her rock the female Litleo would raise a paw up to her head ">Although I'm just sooo lonely. Why don't we stop this nonsense and you just come over here?<" She called, beckoning Balrog to her using the end of her tail.

Kiani could tell that there was banter going back and forth between the two, but she couldn't understand any of it. "Use tackle again." She said, annoyed that the litleo had dodged. She still wasn't sure if she'd capture it or not, but right now, she wanted a battle. Though, watching Balrog, she felt she should just beat this pokemon and continue on her way.
Balrog growled at her, annoyed with her dodge and growing tired of her damsel act. He sincerely hoped that his trainer wouldn't catch this irksome female. ">Stand your ground and battle.<" he challenged.

After this tackle unlike the first the Litleo would be sent tumbling through the grass and dirt. Yet surprisingly when she stood she seemed completely undeterred. Instead she would say with a seductive purr ">Oh so you like it rough eh? Rawr~<" Practically bounding forward the female would then go for a 'playful' Tackle.

Balrog's attack connected and sent the female litleo tumbling. He smirked at her while Kiani smiled, however she was still paying attention to the fight. Balrog had been slightly distracted. "Dodge!" Kiani said, though the tackle attack that the female litleo was performing was more playful than serious. Balrog looked at Kiani before turning his attention back to the fight.

Although it certainly started off as playful the Litleo would pretty much shoulder check Balrog into the nearest rock. Apparently the little lady didn't know her own strength~! Tip of her tail wiggling the female would scamper off a few steps ">Catch me if you can big boy~!<" She teased, looking at him over her shoulder before bounding into the grass. No she was not about to make this fight easy indeed.

Kiani's warning shout came too late, Balrog got checked and thrown into a rock as the litleo's attack connected. Balrog let out a growl and shook himself off. Sure he had taken damage, but he seemed to be fine. "Go after her and use tackle." Kiani said, watching their opponent bound into the grass. Balrog cautiously entered the grass. When he had the litleo in his sights, he charged. Kiani made a decision then and there, she would not be capturing this litleo. It could faint or die for all she cared. She didn't like it's attitude. Then again, Kiani was a serious and calmer soul, well matched with Balrog. Her eyes were hopefull as Balrog attacked their opponent.
