As Hexxis started to struggle against him, he pulled her closer, swallowing the lump in his throat as he held her closer. "Hexxis-" he was about to apologize again when she mumbled something, his name. His name!
Then she fell limp in his arms, causing him to breath in sharply, fearing that he might have killed her, though with a quick check, he could tell she was breathing. 'I-it worked, she's asleep..' he thought to himself, quickly picking the sword she dropped up, pulling her close, and falling back into their shadows, bringing them back into his room at the compound [Shadow Slide 3/7]. Quickly getting to work, as he was unsure on how long she would be out, Zephyr put Hexxis down onto the bed and started to tie her down to the bed, using the bed sheets and his own clothes.

Once it was set up, he grabbed the sword he had set near the window and walked over to the bed, looking down at Hexxis with a sad look in his eyes. "I'll keep you safe.." he murmured, walking to the edge of the bed and turning his back to it, so he could look at the door, sword held tight in his hands.

She should've expected this in all honestly. They just spent the better part of the fight pulling batteries from the guy's suit and here she was powerless. If that didn't make matters worse than this would for sure. Expecting to get stabbed clean through, but instead getting locked inside the suit. Hell she couldn't even teleport to get out of the suit. She wasn't limited by mobility at least, telekinesis was still in question but she was the last one standing and he didn't go for a killing blow.
Sitting here thinking about her situation could only elicit mental laughter. Laughter was honestly the only way she could cope with this situation.
She formed up a telekinetic shield around herself, not able to be sure of his intentions as she thought for a moment.
The situation changed quickly after his blade pierced the suit, the child screamed out a name, Syth. The horned woman presumably, but the action that followed didn't make sense. The girl ran out of the room, perhaps she was to afraid to continue or the spirit had decided staying was to dangerous for it's host. It didn't matter though, only he and the horned woman, Syth, knew he hadn't actually injured her. He heard a door slam somewhere else in the compound, perhaps her hiding spot or maybe where the others had fled to it didn't matter anymore though. He couldn't be sure Hexxis was there and following without a guarantee into a possible trap wasn't worth the effort, perhaps if he knew where she was he would risk it however.
Kylar pulled away from Syth making his way over to the pile that was his own suit, now that they were alone in the room he didn't have to worry. Her suit locked up and the HUD on the helmet without power she posed no risk to him. He picked up the power packs reinserting them into their respective locations on the back of the suit when he suddenly heard a voice, or perhaps not heard but felt. Within his mind a question rang out, "Why did you come here?" An odd question, even odder a telepath. He hadn't expected Mara to have one of those, hell he didn't know that even as he left she already had one.
As he put together the pieces of the suit slowly locking them back into place around his body he looked back at the helpless woman and decided to answer, what harm would there be in humoring her. "I'm here to rescue Hexxis, why else would I charge into the lions den and risk my own life?" That last question was a bit rhetorical as she didn't even know him or know if this was normal behavior. He slipped on another piece of the suit locking it into position as he continued, "Mara broke her, I'm here to fix her. I'm going to set her free and break the programming that SIU has in her. No more will SIU be able to use a meta as a simple weapon. I must admit though, SIUs blood thirst never ceases to amaze me. The first time I attempted to rescue Hexxis she was killed by her own brother trying to apprehend myself and the others. This time you all sacrificed Mara without hesitation, I can not understand what causes you all to serve SIU so obediently and attempt to kill your own kind for those humans that view us as nothing more than a weapon or a tool, to be used and discarded when convenient." He snapped on another piece looking about the room before replacing the Helmet and initiating the suit.

Melody was sobbing quietly to herself as she just kept healing Mara, hoping it would work, she didn't want her to die now that they had been reunited. A deep sense of sadness and anger welling up in the pit of her stomach as she glared through pained and blurry eyes. She just remained quiet, concentration fully on Mara. [Heal Lvl 5: 21 points]
Shadows pooled up next to Syth as Zira slowly rose up out of the ground and fixated her apathetically blank eyes on Kylar who had just finished suiting up. /I do not have the strength to fight him alone with him in the suit. Our best option is to retreat. I apologize if this goes against what plans you had.../ she thought to Syth without breaking eye contact with Kylar. The shadows beneath Zira expanded to pool beneath Syth as well as Zira concentrated to trying to teleport them out. As she focused the suit Syth was in began to sink into the shadows. Zira waited to make sure Syth would be well within the shadow's grasp before trying to jump into it herself, moving them toward Mara's room again. [Shadow Manipulation: Teleport]

It was dark, silent, maybe there was noise but it was hard to tell. A male voice spoke to her, she couldn't recognize it but it was also so far away. Like she was underwater, everything was muffled. Her breathing quickened as she was trying to move, but she was being held down.
'Don't move or this will only hurt more...'
Hexxis tried to speak but nothing would come out, her mouth wouldn't even move. A bright light in her face, she couldn't see who was talking to her. She knew this place. This was the place she knew well. A metal table and bright lights, restraints and the sound of metal instruments. Her heartbeat increased in a slight panic. No, she didn't want to be here. She wanted to go, she didn't want what would come next. Someone was walking around, as well as things were being moved. Heavy things. No, not machines. Hexxis faced strained in her sleep as she was beginning to move but still looked very much asleep.
'If you're quiet, maybe we won't run so many tests today... The last time you screamed so loud over the noise it was hard to explain to others what they heard.' the man laughed and gripped her arm.
Hexxis whimpered. She knew this test, this one was especially painful.. she didn't understand how she was supposed to be quiet. But he made it seem like it was possible, so she nodded, making the effort to try as she grimaced in preparation for what he would do.
Metal against flesh, pressure, pain, and snap.
Hexxis screamed out loudly in panic and in a deep sense of pain, practically sounding like she was being killed with how loud she shrieked. "MARAAA!!" she called out, tears down her face as she thrashed against the materials that restrained her to the bed. She was sobbing and in a flurry of panic, was trying to get free.
'Shutup or it will be worse for you.'
"SOMEONE HELP ME!!" she screamed in between gasps for air from her cries. Her eyes still closed as she struggled hard, not letting up from screaming and thrashing. There was a flicker of 5 shadowed swords as she tried to summon them but didn't have the power to do it as they barely appeared and quickly faded.
Flinching when he heard the scream from Hexxis, he turned to look at her before taking a deep breath. He couldn't risk getting any closer to her right now, more so if Mara did hear the shout for her and come running - it'd raise many suspicions on what he was doing there and who he was. So he couldn't physically comfort her, but maybe...maybe he could help calm her by talking to her."Hexxis, you're not there any more. No one there can hurt you while I'm around. I want to keep you a safe as I can..but I need you to be quite, okay?"Zephyr/Dr. Enid said as he looked back at her, a look of concern on his face, but he really couldn't do much as it stood right now. If he did anything risky, he had the chance of things getting much worse than they were now.
She had a chance to listen to Kage's story. Humming to herself as she tried to think of what she'd be asking Mara, if she lived to see the next day. Honestly it really came down to 'What the hell is with Hexxis' but really that wasn't a new question. The girl's head was as robotic as any could be.
Wait, he was after Hexxis. Dr. Enid went away with Hexxis. Something was extremely fishy.
"MARAAA!!!"
"SOMEONE HELP ME!!"
Honestly this was the worst kept secret the two had. For as good as Kage was at fighting, he was awful at making it obvious Enid wasn't an agent. Still, she'd try to talk to his telepathically. He wasn't out of the building yet after all.
'How can you help her?'
It was a serious question, though she wasn't done talking to him.
'Kae Broken told me this place was fighting for a good cause. Not everyone is good, I've met a Lieutenant Colonel who tried to shackle me, but this place has promise. Mara wants this place to be better.'
Corny, perhaps, but she assumed since Mara screamed his name out loud that he'd be familiar with her mother-in-law by name. A soft breath escaping her as she sat in the suit. Melody tending to Mara. Herself locked inside the suit and Zira not strong enough to fight against anyone.
Aaaaah what a crippling loss.
"Zira, can you check up on that scream?"

Kylar watched as the unknown woman appeared again, moving next to Syth. He prepared to defend himself, but an attack never came. Instead, as Syth continued speaking to him, the two women began to sink into the shadows on the ground. Although he could have attempted to stop them, he watched the pair leave.
Alone in the room, the suit began to slowly repair itself. Nanites swarmed over the damaged areas of the suit, the gash across the front of the suit slowly filling itself in. While the nanites went to work repairing the suit, Kylar headed to the door. A scream came out as he exited into the hallway.
"MARAAA!!!"
"SOMEONE HELP ME!!"
Kylar perked up, looking in the direction of the scream. It was likely a trap, but she was the reason he had come here to begin with. He had to try. He followed the sound of the scream, doors opening as he walked by, all but one. A single door remained closed, something preventing it from opening on the other side. Preparing to enter, he thought a response to the telepath, unsure of if she would even hear it. `I can start by undoing her programming and as for Mara, she's just good at convincing others. It won't be long, assuming she survives, until she makes you a slave like Ree or worse, Hexxis.' A foot slammed against the door as soon as he finished with his thoughts. The door was torn from the wall as he kicked it and the desk behind it out of his way.
Kylar stepped into the room, no ambush followed. He glanced at Hexxis and then the doctor before speaking. "Hello, Doctor Kardos."

Melody craned her head as the screaming rang out through the hallways. "..hexxis.." she whispered in concern then looked down to Mara who looked to be doing physically better now even though she was still unconscious likely from the blood loss. She wiped her face, accidentally smearing more blood onto her cheek as it mixed with the tears that seemed almost endless. She was terrified but she couldn't stop now, there was too much happening to shut down now.
'Syth! We have to make sure Syth is okay!!'
Melody nodded a bit and stood, turning to Syth as she noticed Zira already leaving for the other room. Melody moved to the suit and began to unclasp it to get Syth free. "Syth, are you okay? Do you need healing?" she asked, hoping for any answer at all as it would at least indicate she was still alive.
ZIra nodded at Syth without a word, slid back down into the shadows below her to move once again [Shadow Manipulation: Teleport 6/6].

Hexxis was struggling against the fabric that restrained her to the bed as she took in a sharp inhale, hearing a voice that sounded so familiar but she still couldn't place it. No one can hurt you. She took in a shaky breath as more tears filled her eyes and she whimpered slightly. The pain, though only a part of her dream, felt somehow very real as the panic would not subside.
I need you to be quiet, okay?
The voice was overlayed with another, a scientist from the place she knew as a child. She remembered hearing the roar of machines and music to drown out her cries as they worked. The next step, there was heat and she let out another scream. "STOP, NO!! TRI, HELP ME!!!" she shrieked, more tears spilling down her face as her eyes remained closed and the struggle from beneath the blankets that tied her down continued as her cries wavered hoarsely from her screams. She was sobbing loudly as her breath was so quick and her heart rate beginning to beat a little fast now. [Takes 4 damage from venom]
"I'm barely scratched," She responded to Melody, still a bit irked at the result of today's events. She wasn't going to go chase after them, especially since Kage now had his suit connected to both batteries again. "I am talking to him though. Figuring out his intentions,"
Also, they're likely going to be kidnapping Hexxis. But honestly at this point she had some internal wounds to lick. Damn her own pride.
'Asriel already tried once,' She responded back to Kage, 'He was going to lock our powers and reprogram myself, Melody, and my grandson. Mara's the only reason why we're out. This is different.'
Maybe this would work. She doubted it seriously, prejudices were hard to overcome. Not to mention the past Mara apparently had. She had Alice here though, she could just up and escape and wait for Alice to separate herself. Yep, live out a happy comfortable life.
Damn her conscience.
"But, Hexxis is likely gone. Mara's unconscious, and all we have is leftover pizza," She bemused, taking a seat on the floor as she thought about her situation, "Yep. What a wonderful day."

Gripping the sword as Kage broke the door and caused the desk to slide forward, he frowned, more so when he was called by his actual last name and not by the one he had given himself to pretend to be a doctor. Squinting at the armor, his thoughts started racing. How did he know that he was who he was? There was no way that the renegades would do something like this, he didn't even call for backup. It was only one day after the start of the plan. Who would know...who could? The only person that came to mind was the one who knew that he was missing his malice. Kage...?
"Whoever you are, leave her alone. I have a plan for this, so leave." Zephyr growled, wishing he could go to comfort hexxis, but there was always the chance that someone would walk in on this, that and if this was Kage, he would want to protect her from the man that she was clearly running from. "I'm going to save her."

Kylar watched the 'Doctor' hold his sword tightly as he stood defensively in between himself and Hexxis. He grinned as the lone man standing guard over his prize demanded he leave, if it was that simple as to tell someone what you wanted and to make it happen. He chuckled as an idea came to mind, perhaps a simple display of how to get what you want. Kylar looked at Zephyr removing the helmet as he looked him in the eyes. His voice came through dripping with power as he commanded him, "Leave, Alone." He could have sat there and tried to convince him that Hexxis was better off with him or listened to his plan, but frankly none of it mattered. He didn't know if he was disguising himself from SIU or if he was in disguise at SIU so no one outside knew he worked with them, the unknown being to much of a risk.
After issuing his command, Kylar replaced the helmet waiting to see if the man was one of those immune to his power as so many other metas before had been. Not all, but enough that he wasn't sure if it would work. His thoughts wondered back to the horned woman as he heard a reply from her, it seemed she could hear him if he wanted her to. He responded by thinking, 'Mara turned Hexxis into what she is, what makes you think trusting her isn't the first step of that? Irregardless, I am uniquely setup to fix this problem. Given the right environment and time, all of you are an open book to me. One that can be rewritten as need be to correct errors.'

Melody sighed with relief as Syth confirmed she was okay and she finished letting Syth out of the suit, watching her sit down. Hexxis is likely gone. She frowned, could they really just give up like this. No, there had to be more ways. And there was. At least something to do.
Alice immediately took over and began to look through Mara's pocket and pulled out her cellphone. Maybe she could call for help. Maybe Tri.. she looked through the contacts and noticed a familiar number and dialed it.
'Zira, finish off Hexxis gently please. Don't ******** this up as well, and tell the doctor to trust us on this. It's what needs to be done.'
"Syth, get Mara and take her to a hospital, I will cover your exit from the building in case he tries to attack you. I have plan but it isn't foolproof, we must act now."
As the phone rang, someone picked up. "We are under attack by a guy in an SIU suit. Goes by Kage. Call Tri and Ree. Tell them what you need to or however the best way. Mara was in critical condition, healed, still needs medical attention immediately. Please tell me you're close by or something." there was a pause before she sighed. "Why am I not surprised. And yes, it's me. That's not important right now. This guy is after Hexxis and I'm really out of options besides mercy killing her." Another pause. "Well.... yeah. Then hunt him down, that's the idea anyway." she sighed solemnly and frowned. "I guess let them down easy if you can get ahold of them. I'll call you again later to tell you how it went. Thanks.." Alice stood and looked to Syth and gave single nod to confirm she was ready to guard if Syth could attempt to get out with Mara.
[To Enid]/I am going to have to ask you to trust me, doctor. I will need you to listen to him./
Her cries began to die down as her eyes slowly opened and she took a deep breath and struggled against the sheets hard as they began to rip and untie under her strength. Finally freeing herself, she tried to stand from the bed, staggering slightly as she focused her blurry eyes on the two in the room. Dr. Enid and the Jason Schmidt. She grabbed onto her right arm with her left as though she were injured, still not fully awake but coherent enough to be able to move.
Shadows pooled up on the floor behind Hexxis as Zira rose up and took a wider stance than normal to keep her balance from her fatigue from using so much power at once. She reached back, forming shadowed claws as she sliced down Hexxis' back, cutting her well enough to make her bleed. [Shadow Manipulation: Claws 5 damage]
She felt burning and pain down her back as she stumbled forward and made a loud noise of pain and took in a sharp inhale before falling to her knees and then closing her eyes to collapses onto the floor, bleeding and unconscious.
Zira fell to one knee, grimacing as she was trying not to pass out herself from such an expense of energy from her teleports and attack. /Please forgive me, doctor. This is what needs to be done to ensure everyone's survival./
Stepping over Mara and thinking for a moment. Teleporting was impossible right now, which would be EXTREMELY useful at the moment. Grah, she'd determine a better method to get around this. Picking up Mara with a little help from her telekinesis and making her way out of the door, stopping only to respond to Alice's thoughts. A long drawn out sigh escaping her at the command.
"Don't.... f***!" She cried out, hearing Alice's thought, "We need to get out, we need to get the f*** far away. We've likely just pissed off Kage."
Yep, time to go. Go far, far away. Picking up as much speed as she could to get out of the facility. Things were going south further. Digging a hole for themselves.
