Rellick hesitated as Brooke's mocking words floated after him, then laughed, long and loud. His amusement echoed through the quieting Pride Lands, and he shook his head, running onward.

'You have fun, Rell.' Brooke added quietly to herself as she watched him leaving the lands. 'Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with the lion.' She said to Amaree jokingly.

Amaree laughed along with Brooke as they watched Rellick run off towards another pride. Amaree sighed, catching her breath from the good hearty chuckle that she and Brooke had shared. "Yes, that Rellick is an odd one." Amaree said, pawing at Brooke. "We're not really gonna do anything if he comes back without allies, are we?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking. She kind of figured they wouldn't, but it would make for good conversation.

Areli sighed softly as her front, right paw, tuched the ground after a long run. She watched, seeing the new King set off again. She smiled. "Perfect timing for him to leave." she said sarcasticly, her smile fading slightly. She turned her gaze again, seeing Amaree, and Brooke. She smiled. Atleast she knew the two. She slowly pawed the ground, walking forward slowly. She jumped up, and behind Amaree and Brooke. "Boo." she said with a grin.

'Nah.' Brooke shook her head and smiled. 'Unless you wanna do something about it.' She giggled, staring out at the setting sun. Then she lifted her head. Something was behind them. Something big... Boo. Brooke turned around to see Areli behind herself and Amaree. She grinned. 'I was just about to pound you!'

"Heh. Well I"m glad you didn't." she said with a grin, as she started to ruffle Brooke's fur. She then turned to Amaree. "How did I know you would be here?" she asked with a still grin.

'I got good ears.' Brooke said simply, with a swift smile. 'Comes eventually with livin' on your own. You can't have to fend for yourself for so long without getting something out it, can you?' She winked at Areli.

Amaree laughed as Areli said she knew she'd be there. "Uh... good guess? Do I really hang around Rellick all that much that you can figure that?" Amaree pawed the ground and giggled at Brooke and Areli. "What're you doing out here Eli?" She asked, turning over on her back and pawing the air again. "Besides going around and sneaking up on people?" Amaree asked, pawing at Areli's face.

Background info:
Rellick had heard that in the mountains one of his mother's best friends dwelled. Kallivenion, now a king, was the first Rellick wished to establish as an ally. The chocolate and cyan lion's pride lived in the mountains, beyond Rackna's lands, basking in the calm that was cyan serenity.
Kallivenion stalked through his lands, large paws meeting sand and stone with no sound. He moved through the golden and green grasses as a chocolate shadow, racing the comming night, searching for hyenas and rogue lions. Back at his den, the king new his mate and Queen Fayola waited for him. She, along with their teen Keyisha and cubs Farrien and Dashira, were probably dining on the kill Fay had made. Nuika, Whisper and Blare undoubtedly joining them.
'I'll be back with them soon.' He smiled, and went back to his patrol.
Rellick reached the border of trees, and scenting another king, let out a roar. He had no wish to challenge an adult King, for he knew he would lose, which is why he felt deeply in need of allies. "Hello there! Pride's King! I come to speak with you!"
Kallivenion lept from the rocky outcropping he had been searching and met the strange lion at the near border of trees. He stood between the intruder and the plain leading to his plateau, and drew himself up. "I am King Kallivenion of these Pride Lands-Cyan Serenity- that you find yourself in.. What brings you young lion?"
Rellick bowed his head. "I am Rellick once Prince of Rackna's Lands, now King of Scarlet Shadows, albeit young."
He took a step forward. "I come seeking one named Kallivenion, a friend of my mother... She spoke of his loyalty.. And I have need for such a thing."
"Whether I knew your mother or not, you are no get of mine..." Kall said slowly as he considered the teen. "What do you want?"
Rellick drew a deep breath and let it out.. "If you met my mother you would not forget her... She is the Queen of Mystery, Ellidanio, the shimmer of jade and gold on the Pride Lands at Sunrise... Now mated to Rackna, my father and King, and mother of six, myself included. As to waht I want.. I am here for an Ally.. For should I be attacked, I cannot defend those few that have decided to join me.. And as you are my mother's friend, I sought you out first."
Kall grinned and laughed, butting the new King's head in greeting.
"Welcome and well met son of Elli!" He laughed. "How is she? It truly has been a lifetime since we've seen each other.. Grown, a Queen and Cubs you say?"
Rellick nodded, smiling. "Yes... My brother Brazen- crown Prince- Myself, Jadera my sister-and mother in miniature- and Jem from the first litter.. We are all teens now.. And her second litter, the scarlet Aritania and pale green Deka."
Kall nodded. "I myself have cubs.. Perhaps I should seek out your mother.. And we could talk of youthful memories.... "
He smiled. "And become allies as well."
Rellick nodded as if to himself. "Their Pride Lands lie on the near border of the lake... If you wish to find them.. You need only cross this stream, then follow it to the lake... "
"Well then Young King, Allies we stand." Kall nodded then rested his chin on Rellick's shoulders, a gesture of trust and good will. If the Scarlet King had wanted to, he could tear out the mighty throat and silence the chocolate King.
Rellick returned the gesture easily. "My thanks, Serenity's King.. And best of luck with your Pride..."
"And yours as well.. We should have them meet sometime..." Kall grinned."
Rellick nodded in agreement.. "Until then..Farewell!"
Kall watched him trot away with a smile, and turned towards home.

She shrugged. "Just dropping in, seeing how things are going." she said, pawing Amaree back also, with a giggle.

Amaree sneezed as some dust got in her nose. "Excuse me..." She said giggling. "Things seem to be going just fine Areli..." Amaree sat up and looked at her friend. "Why do you ask? Just stopping by for a visit to see everyone?" Amaree pawed the ground, wondering if that was her friend's only motive. Did Areli suspect the little crush that Amaree had on Rellick? No chance, Amaree thought. She had kept it hidden well enough. Amaree gazed off in the distance to see if she could spot any sign of their beloved king returning. She almost wanted to see him again, and missed him since he had left. Was he succesful? Her ears lay back slightly with her worry.

Brooke had gone quiet, but she never let off her guard. She watched Amaree carefully, more out of curiousity than anything else. She pinpointed her ground-pawing, and followed her gaze out over the lands, toward where Rellick had disappeared. And the barely visible flicker of her ears caught the cub's attention too.
She sat, for a moment, putting it all together. And then, swiftly, it clicked. A slow, knowing grin spread across her face, and she could not supress the giggle that slipped out. And she had turned almost an entirely different shade under her blue fur from keeping from bursting out. Oh, how strange she must have looked!

Amaree glanced over at Brooke, who seemed to be utterly bursting about the mouth about something. Amaree raised an eyebrow and flopped down. "What's on your mind, little sister?" Amaree asked, pawing Brooke in the face and wiping any sign of her anxiety away. She smiled her toothy smile at Brooke and knocked her over iwth a paw. "C'mon now."

'Um...' Brooke stood up, gasping for breath. 'Areli, 'scuse for a sec!' She grabbed Amaree and drew her farther along the ledge. Somehow, despite how well she knew Areli, it was suddenly an uncomfortable topic in front of her.
She faced Amaree. 'You like someone!' She hissed, keeping her voice low. There was a wonderful sparkle in her eyes, mischievous and merry at the same time. 'Who is it? Come on, you can tell me! Oh my god!' She drew in a sharp breath. 'Is it Rellick?'

Amaree raised an eyebrow at the cub when she suggests they go off without Areli. "Uh... okay..." Amaree followed the cub, and nearly jumped out of her skin at the accusation. "No I don't! I don't like anyone... at least not like taht... why would ?" She blushed horrible and pawed the ground again. "And Rellick... well, Rellick is kind of out and on his own. I think he likes me as a member of his pride, but not like that. As to how I feel about him, he's my closest friend... and I won't elaborate further." Amaree said, looking away from the young cub. "Brooke... why do you want to know anyway?" Seeing the mischevious look in the cub's eyes. Amaree couldn't help but smirk a bit. "What have you got up your sleeves?" She asked, nudging the cub.
