Touscon snorted softly at Reno’s first response, shrugging her thin shoulders as though to write off his own arrogance as nothing important. He would know that she felt completely the opposite, because otherwise she wouldn’t have been trying to encourage him to act that way even more. Then he changed the topic back to her own long-standing concerns and her lips narrowed as she sucked them in thoughtfully and listened to him. She nodded after his comment and although he didn’t say much, she could guess at the rest. With a light, offhanded tone of voice that the others could pick up on, she dropped a few more thoughts, talking after the stupid red-eyed shithead behind them. “Then let me go for the leader. The b***h shouldn’t be a problem—you proved that—and either of us can take the big guy now that we know his weak spot. The rest, heh. Shouldn’t be problem if it’s the two of us, right Red?”

Just then she was cut off by Reno’s own remarks back to Alpha, and while Reno suppressed his mirth, the black-haired Raven took advantage of his comeback to bark with laughter.

“Wh—you little snot!” the red-eyed Raven cried shrilly, her mouth dropping open as she was insulted. She stiffened and straightened herself, making an irritated sound as she stomped her foot into the ground again, clenching her fists tightly in the sides of her shirt. Without waiting for her whirling emotions or the sting of the asinine words to settle, she stammered a response. “Oh yeah?! W-well, you’ll come crawling to me again, Red! Just you wait! You all do! All men do!”

“Some men find other men just so they can avoid you, Alpha,” Bane commented lightly, his gaze on Dex who sat alone under another tree. He wasn’t really interested in anything going on with those around him. But at least the newbies were giving him some entertainment, seeing how Alpha was flying all over the place.

Throwing a satisfied sneering look over her shoulder at the prissy female, Touscon bared her teeth at her, snickering. “Looks like they don’t need your hormonal a** or vag, sourpuss.” Rising to her feet as Reno gestured for her to join him, she mildly watched Bane as he walked on ahead, completely ignoring Alpha’s vicious remarks towards him. “Guy’s nice, isn’t he?” she commented offhandedly and looked to Reno with a faint smirk. Together, the two of them approached the group, with Dex not far behind. Once they got there, Daryl, who was the only one left on the ground, began speaking at once, his eyes not on them, but focused on the grass at his side.

“You all have two hours to do as you wish; three to rest—the latter is mandatory,” he informed them in that soft, unpresumptuous tone he had. “Do not mistake me, new and old Ravens alike, for giving this as a suggestion. Dex, Bane—you’ll take the east and north sections of camp respectively. Red, since you’re new, I want you near to Bane to keep Alpha in check—you’ll take the west section. Stay just out of sight of the others. If Alpha gives you any trouble, handle it as you see fit.” Daryl broke off, his eyes rising to meet with Red’s silently. His next words were faintly threatening. “If you can’t handle it… Bane’s just a few hundred yards away. He’ll be able to hear you.” Once again his eyes fell to the grass, ignoring the writhing figure of Alpha at his side.

Fury and indignation seethed from her as she remained silent; even she knew when she could not cross the line. Somehow she was both pleased with her placement with Red, and yet furious that she was removed from Daryl’s nesting site. Their pack leader, however, continued on without notice. “Touscon, you will remain with me, in the south section. The fire will be left to burn out. If someone is lured, keep your eyes on them. Everyone knows what to do just in case. Alpha and I will instruct Red and Touscon in procedure.” He finished speaking and without concern or hurry, he rose from the ground and placed an arm around Touscon’s shoulders, drawing her close to him, knowing she would be unable to refuse his order. “Go.” Turning, he led the thin Raven away with him. The sun had just eased beyond the horizon. Darkness would fall soon. In Touscon’s mind, worry flared silently, for she had not expected to be separated from Reno so quickly. They had barely thrown together a plan… and now already they were put in a position of following it out. …neither of them had any choice in the matter.

“Well Red,” the other female Raven sneered, wrapping the fingers of one hand around his arm and smiling none too pleasantly. “Looks like you got stuck with me after all. How nice to see you didn’t have to crawl for it.” But there was an edge of resentment in her words, and she couldn’t help her eyes from darting after the figure of her pack leader as he walked away with the thin Raven under his arm. That cursed little b***h! But I’ve got her partner now…. She smirked with dark pleasure and turned her head back to Red. “Let’s get going, firecracker.” She tugged on his arm to lead him away.

"Funny?" He remarked, quirking an eyebrow without really bothering to look at her, "...It's my job to know you." He made it sound simple, formal...a single duty among many. Though he knew much about all the members of AVALANCHE, somehow he had accumulated more information on Rikk than any of the others...Perhaps it was simply due to all the trouble she caused him...

He watched her careful movements, unusually relaxed stance, and strangely inexpressive face...It was peculiar to see her so...unhindered...She seemed to him to lose a bit of that as she grasped her hair, before moving. Somehow that irked him in a part of his mind just below his notice.

"Again, it is my job to be certain," he said, rolling his eyes a bit, and regaining some of his usual demeanor; the cool aloofness he usually possessed had held off until now, whether from sleeps unwillingness to release him, or some other factor, he finally seemed awake and as such began to act as he always did. In the early hours, it might have been easy for others to forget who he was as his slightly-groggy disposition was significantly more relaxed than his norm...But it never lasted very long; Cruze was a man of obligation, and little on the Planet could make him forget that.

The man let out another sigh, as she questioned him. "You know, if just once, you could stay out of trouble, I wouldn't have to focus on you all the time...But since that seems beyond you, I'm required to, so I can stay ahead of your messes," He ignored her assessment of him, and nodded only slightly as she thanked him, which he barely registered doing. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered...It actually surprised him that he did so now...Perhaps sleep hadn't quite relinquished it's hold yet.

Before he knew it however, Rikk had slipped from the room. Groaning, he waved the child Raven after her, not willing to chase her himself...Didn't she realize how early it was?...Far too early for such foolishness...

Midori, on the other hand, was more than ready to race after her. As soon as the girl realized what her "mother" was doing, she prepared to give chase. Though Rikk's legs were far longer than the Raven's, she caught up quickly. Even restrained by the need to appear as a normal child, the little redhead was not going to fail the Master Second and allow the woman to escape her. As Rikk called back to her, Midori used the sound to estimate how far ahead her quarry had managed to get...Though the hallway was long, she covered the distance quickly, deciding to attatch herself to Rikk's leg upon catching the woman.

"Mama, you're so fast!" she giggled, as though it were some game the mother and daughter played often. Midori was glad at least that their cover allowed her close physical contact to the AVALANCHE member...It would make following Cruze's orders all the simpler, as most parents would want to keep their children close while on vacation.

Cruze took his time catching up to the pair. He walked, not one to be bothered with running. When he did finally reach them, he found Rikk latched onto him in a way which almost seemed genuinely affectionate...Of course, he had been in the business far too long to believe such a thing, but none the less he smiled as any man would with someone such as Rikk on their arm.

"Beautiful," he said, looking at her, choosing a charming remark from any number of his usual sources for those who might overhear their conversation. He smiled a little, as was proper to her final comment, and replied, "Of course, love." His gaze turned back to the town for just a moment, until he looked down at Midori, meeting her eyes.

"Come on honey, Mommy can't walk with you attached to her like that. Why don't you hold her hand instead?" He said, sounding as affectionate as any father, and truthfully, he was slightly amused by the way the Raven had decided to cling to the AVALANCHEr.

Midori nodded at once, taking the cue that it was acceptable to release Rikk, and instead reaching up and grabbing the woman's hand like a child eager to explore. for a moment, she grinned, holding the hand to her face in a way that denoted absolute love, and then started to pull the pair toward the gangplank.

"Come on Mama, Papa! Lets go see the town!"She giggled, tugging them forward playfully in a line, Teddy leading in her other hand.

Maybe it was the ocean… the feel of the beach town that was affecting everything, changing her perception of things and influencing the reactions of the normal—altering the coldness of the usual. They were both shifting, man and woman, unwillingly connected and yet separate still. There was no significant bond between them, and so they had long been reduced to their simplest forms. Before she had worked with the Ravens in the AR’s main base, she had been as close to flawless as her higher-ups could have asked for. Once she had gotten involved with these missions, fallen under Cruze’s command and supervision, everything had gone haywire. True, she had asked for a great deal of it. The freedom of her original home had been too much to suppress, being that close to Midgar—so near to the wills and whims of the sinless city.

Now everything was in disorder. From the simplicity of the boss-employee relationship, to the dynamic chaos of finding out a means to work together with one another—minus the clashing of interests and the threats to one’s sanity, the other’s employment or life force altogether. If she had not made so much headway… if he had not stepped out to push her back when she reached for her connections… if she had refused to give in to him… if he had not deemed it essential to keep her on a leash tightly at his side…. So many “ifs” and the result? This, she thought. Our compromise is a work of evil. Neither of us means it, yet we do it so that the other doesn’t frustrate us to the point of pulling a gun or blade on the other. But this calm now was different from before. Yes, she was working with him. Yes, she was suppressing her inner urges and finding various ways to work within his limits to suit him and herself best. Yes, she was sacrificing in order to be able to gain freedoms.

But was she gaining something more along with it? And was she losing something else?

Prolly jus’ my mind.

It was a bad idea—that was the feeling she had inside of herself now, with Midori complacently obeying Cruze’s fatherly directives, and keeping close to her mother. Even as Rikk stood and clasped her boss’s arm, resting against him with feigned devotion, she could feel how relaxed each of them were around her, and it was weird. When had Cruze ever bothered to respond to her with a semblance of normalcy? She had expressed her uncertain thoughts, and found herself in the unusual situation of having him respondverbally! And not just once, like obligation demanded—though even that was a nicety Cruze normally skipped—but twice he had responded. No! Three times! Three times he had spoken to her like a normal human being! Okay, so it wasn’t that big of a deal, since he was pulling the whole “blah blah doing it for work blah” excuse, but it had happened. She wanted to smack her head against a wall to wrench the thought out of her mind. But it had happened. That was that. And now, whatever the reason, she was calmly going along with his requests, and he was fulfilling his requirements to make everything seem normal.

For a moment, Rikk turned her hazel eyes upwards, gazing into her fake husband’s face. The expression on her face could have been easily mistaken for that of a lover’s, gazing up at the one who belonged to them, and studying their face simply because of all the signs of the familiar. It was an unusual feeling, and for a moment she pursed her lips, the expression soon disappearing. She was starting to desire to be off this ship, where she could walk at length with Midori. At least the little Raven child did not sway into sudden fits of reasonable cooperation that led one to believe there was more behind the veil than usual.
“Love.” She said the word like the soft, slow rustle of a waking moan, when the voice is still not crisp, but groggy and burdened with sleepy desires. It was a deeper voice, full of thought and not directed towards the one who had first voiced it, but rather said aloud for the self to mull and puzzle over.

With a leisurely steadiness, Rikk released Cruze’s arm and tightened her hand around Midori’s little one in a tender squeeze, beginning to lead her away from her boss and towards the gangplank descending to the dock.
“Are you excited to see the beach for the first time, my little one? Perhaps if papa isn’t in a hurry we can get you some ice cream to enjoy. I know you’ll love it, dear.” She focused her attention and words on the small Raven, her gaze constantly down upon her pretend child. She was finally getting used to playing a mother, too, she noticed. There was a loose smile on her face, and her eyes were warm, but burdened. With what, it was indiscernible. She would let Cruze make of it what he wished, only to say simply there was nothing to it. They would both be best off admitting that.

Red rubbed at his mouth as he stood within the group. He had blatantly ignored Alpha; now he had much to think on. Her whining wasn't helping him think straight, it was making him want to get violent. Still, he kept calm and reserved, for once, until Touscon insulted Alpha again. This time it was the redhead that barked with laughter.

"I wouldn't want to touch that sourpussy with a ten foot pole. Don't expect me to start crawling, yo; I won't even go half way." He continued to laugh until his eyes caught Daryl's expression, and then the man began to speak. Red crossed his arms and stood silently. He noticed Dex shift slightly as his name was mentioned. Red took a mental note that the larger man would be to the east, but scowled when Daryl commanded him to the west, away from Touscon, away from Dex and unbearably near to Alpha. He tried to hide his look of disgust, not wanting Alpha's jeering to escalate anymore than it was going to already.

This was escalating things a bit quicker than he was expecting, but at the same time it probably couldn't have come at a better time. He was a little...concerned...about Touscon being with Daryl, alone, but the fact that he was going to be with Alpha and basically had permission to do with her what he wanted made their next move all too easy. Or, at least, his next move...

Red turned away from the retreating Daryl and Touscon, his mind ablaze with afterthoughts from seeing the arm of the enemy around his companion. He put on a smirk as Alpha pulled on his arm and he pulled it right back as the group dispersed. "I don't need assistance, thanks." He watched her look back at Daryl, but he did not look. Touscon would be alright...right?

Finally walking to the west like he was ordered, he found himself looking for a tree to sleep in once the sun set. The mountains near Costa were full of monsters and even if any of them had tents...it'd be safer in a tree regardless. He had no wish to start a conversation with Alpha, but the closer he got to her, the easier it'd be to rip her throat out.

"How do you...people...usually set up camp, anyhow?" Oh, small talk...

Dex was grateful to have been ordered alone, yet close to Bane, and even more still to the east. He could watch the sun rise, as he was accustomed to doing. The Raven was the first to leave the group and for all he knew the first to arrive at his designated spot. Luckily for him there were plenty of rocks to sit on, lay on, stack...and he had two hours to do as he pleased with them. He began by sitting on one very flat rock, crossing his legs and extending his arms on his knees. He began to meditate.

As Ravens, they did not need to acknowledge when they received an order from their pack leader. That was why as Dex rose and left, Bane followed his example, turning from Daryl and the selected female under his arm. However, the temptation to leave one more comment behind for the new male and his gaudy night partner was too great to refuse. Half a dozen steps from the campsite, Bane stopped in his tracks and turned towards Red and Alpha, raising his voice so they could hear him just before he left. “Don’t think she’ll let you alone these two hours, Red. If she pushes you hard enough, she’ll even break into your sleeping time. Either screw her to shut her up, or knock her unconscious. No one’s going to mind.” With a lazy, careless grin, he lifted an arm into the air as a final farewell and continued north, nearest to the beach town, his senses intent on intruders or casual night walkers.

Grunting lightly as she was separated from the red haired Raven, she clenched her teeth in frustration. What the hell! Who did he think he was?! Just pulling away and leaving her like that! And then--Bane! She whirled towards the other Raven. “Shut your a**, Bane! Just because you’re sore you can’t have this tonight you pull the whiniest little sissy act! Go crunch your balls between some harder boulders!” She hissed venomously after him, her eyes flashing with loathing and slight self-satisfaction. “So what if you’re all bashing me from a safe distance?” she sneered, keeping a casual pace with Red and forgetting her other teammate. Walking beside the new Raven, she moved closer to the redhead than she knew he’d be comfortable with. It didn’t matter in the least to her. She wanted him messed up and aggressive. If that’s how she had to make him to get him, it wasn’t going to be a problem in her book. “Your twiggy princess isn’t yours anymore, Red. Forget her. Daryl’s got her now and if he doesn’t break her tonight…” She smirked, crinkling her nose with disgust, as though the idea simultaneously pleased and infuriated her. “…then he’s likely ******** her until she does and belongs ooonly to him.”

With a smug smile, her teeth bared confidently, she snuck her fingers into his pocket, tugging herself closer to him as she canted her head back to look into his face. “You can have me all you want to make the frustration ease a little. Hot Stuff’ll show you how to deal with the pack life; trust her. Trust me.” If this was small talk, she would continue to direct it her way as long as she could. But then he asked her a perfectly normal, perfectly trappable question. With a light swoon into him, resting her head momentarily on his arm, she turned a sly look upwards. “We take what we want, what we can get, duh, Red.” She laughed mockingly, pulling away from him and walking up ahead. “There’s plenty of places—just choose somewhere comfortable that suits your tastes, and I’ll join you. On the ground, behind rock outcrops, in the trees, it doesn’t really matter.” She huffed it all out quickly, waving her hand in a jerky, dismissive behavior. Honestly, this subject was beginning to bore fast. Of course, that was why she switched tactics. “That’s what being paired for the night is about, Red,” she subtly suggested. “You, me, and two hours and counting. So hurry it up. We’ve still got farther to go.”

As they headed further from the campsite, deeper into the meadows and behind the sparse trees that concealed them, there were many questions that came to the thin Raven’s mind. She couldn’t ask them though. These were things a human would think: where were they going, how far, what about the others? Not the questions of a Raven. They would immediately cast suspicion onto her. She was no fool. She knew what he had taken her for. She did not have to hear the snide, vicious comments of the red-eyed b***h to come to the conclusion. Why else would the p***y be so disappointed?

Her breath caught abruptly, growing a little shallow as she felt Daryl pull her harder to his side. Then his easygoing voice broke her thoughts and made her mettle quiver within.
“You’re unhappy with this placement. You’ll learn to appreciate it the further ingrained you become with the team.” “And grinding out the rub starts with the weak,” she responded, marveling at his calm and knowing it was cracking her. Eerie; if he was going to be this comfortable and secure… did she really have no chance? “Daryl—” Before she could even finish her thought, he stopped and swung her around to face him, his hands constantly on and in control of her body. She was up against him suddenly and her eyes stared fiercely at the wide collar of his neck, knowing if she looked up into his eyes right now, it would give everything away. She had to calm herself… calm like him… calm….

“He will fall into place after you do, Touscon.”

That was when she smirked. Staring straight at his chest, ignoring the change in position of his hands or the sudden closeness of his mouth to her neck, she let a vibrant, low laugh escape her lips. Nerves had to wait; she would channel that energy into distracting him. Closing her eyes, she focused upon her other senses, blocking out scent and taste, becoming skin. She had to ignore this… had to refuse to let it seem like an infiltration. Listen Touscon. Listen and feel for the weak point…. You have to find it. This is your chance. She grimaced and ignored it, ignored it, tried so hard to ignore this! …Reno! Kill the b***h and let’s get out of here, please!

Far north, Bane let his eyes wander over the star strewn sky. His arms under his head, he was stretched out over a grassy knoll. Keen eyesight and hearing—that’s why he was the watchdog. Still, it didn’t take much imagination to fill in the pictures to the subhuman cries he could hear even from this far out. His gaze swayed languidly over the stars, connecting their points to form illusive images to match with the low sounds from further south. “Going easy on the new c**t? Guess we were all getting tired of Alpha anyway. Wouldn’t want to break the new toy.”

Bane had literally given Red complete permission to damage his current counterpart. The idea simply soothed the soul. Her idiocy seemed to know no bounds. The more Bane insulted her, the more insulting she did to herself. Maybe it was just Red's imagination... But Alpha was doing a pretty good job of keeping him pretty pissed off on a regular basis. They were coming up into a clearing now and Red pulled away from her again.

"Keep your goddamn hands off of me, Alpha. You're a ******** chew toy for the dogs. No ******** pride in that." Red surprised himself with how cool he had said it. Smooth, yet aggressive. The idea of sex with anyone right now made him want to vomit, which also surprised him. He just wanted Alpha to shut her filthy mouth. What disgusted him as much as sex with Alpha was Touscon with Daryl. The red head figured he had an idea why it bothered him, but he wasn't going to think on it just yet. He started to turn away, to look for wood for a fire. The idea of burning her alive seemed like a good idea...if he wanted to get caught.

[Threw in a little Touscon at the end there~ Figured we might as well give some cloaked idea of what's going on there~]

“Hmph!” The noise burst between tightly pressed lips and a flaring of nostrils as the red-maned Raven once more pulled himself out of her flirting grasp. She stomped her foot into the plush terrain and stewed in her own seething emotions for a moment. “What the hell is your problem!” she sneered bitterly, but was spoken over. Her night partner apparently had no regard for what she wanted! “Dry-caked a**,” she muttered to herself as he told her to keep her hands off of him. “Whaaat?” she cried out with disbelief, her lips curling in a harsh grin, her nose wrinkling in subconscious aggression. Figuring he was done after saying her name like it was a command to stay back, she of course huffed it off snottily—because she knew that couldn’t be the case—and began to saunter back over to him.

And then he called her—he actually had the guts to call her!—a ‘chew toy for the dogs.’ She stopped in her tracks, mouth dropping open in momentary shock. The next moment a shrill, piercing squeal of anger burst from her. Clenching her fists tightly she glared fiercely at him, a rough aggravated breath gushing from her lips as she ran up to him and—pulling out the blades on her right arm once more—slashed at him across his jaw and cheekbone, trying to make him bleed where she knew she could not hit him and have any effect. But the b*****d was fast, and he was skilled. “You worthless beat-up scrap of a man! You’re nobody! You’re nothing! Thinking you’re so con-fi-dent,” she sneered, drawing out the word to impress upon him its exact opposite.

Stepping closer, she looked up into his face from her much shorter stature and clenched her teeth, grinding them with irritation. “Well here’s some news, incompetent d**k! Pride comes when you survive and you’re not exactly in the best of shape. You and that twig-s**t are helpless and it’s apparent to all of us! Who the ******** cares who ******** who?! I’m alive and you’ve still got an expiration date written all over that greasy forehead of yours. So quit being a little b***h and be a man!” Once more she rushed him and threw up her arm, this time, aiming to cut the throat. Oh he wouldn’t die, but at least she’d get him hot and dirty—and that was some consolation prize. The thought made her smile, even though bitterness and disgust still wrinkled her nose and face.

In some ways… it was as easy as politics. On paper, the plans to equalize were always simple. In person… the moment faced with them… you knew instinctively, bluntly, physically… that it never worked, and that it never would. The world was a power-play; Daryl and her… they were a power-play. And Daryl… was the power. She was weak. All too clearly was she aware of this. She was giving in and giving—more than she wanted. She was not a virgin, not by any means. In some sense, this could and had to be carnal, vicious bliss. The question ‘What would you do?’ came to mind. Inwardly and outwardly she hissed, knowing in her mind she branded herself a whore; knowing out of mind that there were benefits to this—short term, casual benefits. She did not think of the long term. Short term was this—was sex, was Daryl, was giving in to heated blood and furious emotions, whirling in a scream of passion that was hatred and anger and the animal part of her she could not forget. Raven. The word was blood, was vile in her mouth, but sang hunger in her veins, and in searching fingers… other parts… things she knew she would be ashamed of if she wasted this chance. To feel and find it! …because every Raven was built in with one weak point. Just one. So she fought him to make it last, kiting the end, delaying and satisfying to give herself enough time to locate his spot… then to finish it.

Alpha's reaction was typical. Red couldn't help but smirk. Sure, maybe he was being self-righteous, but only to her eyes when she had no idea he was about to show how worthwhile he really was. That was the confidence. The female Raven's whole presence seemed to whine as she huffed and pouted and then proceeded to insult him.

"Little girl's upset coz' a man don't wanna ******** her?" He watched as she drew her knife, let her cut him. His lips curled as he sneered; he could feel the blood trickling down his face. Her fury, perhaps, was a little intoxicating. She was angry and...lustful. It felt a little like deja vu, but as always the past eluded him. He could ******** her...and strangle her to death. Maybe she'd get off on it. ...Gross.

"You don't even know me!" He planted his feet as she rushed at him again. As she moved to cut his throat, he bent backwards and grabbed her wrist, pulling her over his head and throwing her as he fell back. If this was managed, he would quickly get back up to his feet.

Then again, I don't even know myself.

[Reaaaally short post.

Alpha had not been expecting that. When he threw her, she flew… and hit the ground hard. But in the next instant her arms twisted and dug into the soil, ripping it up to stop her from bouncing and sliding too far. “No way, Red!” she screamed. Her voice was still shrill, a wild ferocity serrating the edges to match with the blades lashed onto both her forearms. He might have evaded the slice to the neck, but throwing her would do nothing. She did not run; she leapt for him, not bothering to waste time on tactics when a quick strike would make him evade or be cut. And cut him she would.

With a loud cry she pounced atop of him, aiming her knee for his face and leaning forward as she fell so that most of the weight was placed on her arms. If he didn’t move, his stomach and lower abdomen were going to be shredded by the razors running up and down her limbs. “Little b***h’s ******** pissed,” she shouted as she launched herself, “cause a partner-Raven is still clinging to the ‘noble’ sense that he belongs only to one person! Grow the ******** up, Red!”
PostPosted: Wed Feb 23, 2011 3:11 pm

Getting her away from him had been good enough if it was to keep his neck from getting sliced, but she still wanted more, even after he had beaten her earlier that day. She certainly had the stamina, it seemed. He got his mind out of the gutter as she screamed at him and he clenched his teeth as his lips curled again.

Red pulled a small blade from the back of his pants as Alpha leaped at him. "What!" he yelled. "You think I'm being noble?" He couldn't help but take the kick to the chin, his head lifting backwards, yet even as he started to go down he made to stab her in the thigh with his blade. "I just don't like overused twats." His jaw was hurting now, but at least he didn't have blades in his chest. He left the blade in her leg and as they hit the ground he made to roll backwards, as most of her weight was on him, and he rolled her off once more. This time he pulled out his weapon of choice. The old rod.

The female’s nostrils flared. Her red eyes opened wider as he answered her back. She could smell something. Intuition screamed in her veins. And then he had successfully been able to take her blow and remove himself from the teeth of her blades. In the process he had thrust a knife into her. “s**t!” she cried out as she crashed into him and was brought down with him, a harsh, coarse laugh scraped from her throat as her teeth bared in a smirking sneer at him. She had cried out more from the pain than from any semblance of giving in, but this was progress. It was far from the piercing she had been aiming for, but she wasn’t about to wet herself and run. Nor was she going to give up so soon. Even as he pushed her off him and rolled out of reach, she lurched to her feet and grabbed the knife, ripping it out of her leg. Staring down at the blade, she grinned and tightened her grasp until her knuckles went white.

“I don’t care what you call it, Red. It comes down to one simple thing,” she straightened herself, no longer favoring her injured leg as the wound slowly mended. Positioning herself to lunge at him, she laughed ruthlessly, her eyes dancing with superiority. “You’re no ******** Raven!” As she cried out the last word she swung and threw his own knife at his stomach, rushing him at the same time and ducking low. With a swift click, a blade detached from her arm and she grabbed it, knowing it would be her only method of combatting his rod. “Be an animal, you goddamn coward! Stop thinking and start feeling!” She slid on the earth at the last second, slashing her arm’s blades at his leg before lurching up to her feet behind him. This was it! She thrust the long blade in her hand at the side of his neck, aiming to rip out whatever its teeth could reach in the stead of her own. “Animals have no choices!”

His grip tightened on the metal rod in his right hand. His feet were planted firmly on the ground. She was grinning. It made him grin, too. He was feeling wild now, wild like when he was with the Turks. A burst of realization filled him then. Her words sunk in like a sinking stone.

"You're right. I'm an angry Dog!" He hit the blade way with his rod, sending it high into a nearby tree. Dirt was kicked into the air as he shifted, digging his feet into the earth as he ducked with the swing of his rod. She was coming at him now, and as he jumped from her she knicked his pants with her blades, rounded on him as he quickly turned to face her. He swung his rod at her temple as she sliced the side of his neck with her blade. Electricity burst from the rod even before it made contact with Alpha. Reno hoped it damaged her as much as she had just damaged him. <********. ******** c**t. He was finding his temper rising. Maybe he should just let it take him.

The female Raven could taste the purchase of her blade in his flesh, serrated edges doing their work and letting beautiful red streak over her hand and his side. For a split second, her lips parted to bear fangs of victory, eyes dancing with the elation of drawing blood. In the next moment, her nose crinkled and she inhaled deeply, sharply. The speed of the moment was slowing down. Her eyes flew to the side, her head turned faintly. A smell was overwhelming her, filling her nostrils: electricity.

She had no time to react before a scream was wrenched from her and abruptly cut short as she was sent flying to the ground. This time, she did not move. The blast had connected with the side of her head, and at that range, it was enough to draw blood and knock her unconscious. Unfortunately for Red, the silence in the female would last only a minute or two before the Raven regenerative cells took over and pulled her back into consciousness. She hadn’t even had a chance to react to his sudden confident, bewildering retort. Before she had time to think of what he could have meant, she was out cold.

Reno's vision was beginning to get a little blurry, but the lightning had done its purpose. He was trying to take even breaths as he held his bleeding neck. She hadn't severed his head by any means but he was bleeding a lot more than he cared for. Fortunately for him, it was steadily regenerating. The loss of blood couldn't be made up, however...not as fast as he'd like. He was still standing, somehow, and he felt like his knees were going to buckle. He had been so angry, he could still feel the flickers of rage at his fingertips. Mako eyes stared at Alpha's body for a moment until he realized he still had to finish the job.

Feeling just as wild as before, now that he was feeling somewhat delirious as well, he walked towards her and fell down to his knees. He sat there, his legs folded under him, and closed his eyes as he let this moment of comfort sink in. He hadn't struggled too much to get to this point, but it was just the fact of emotional exhaustion...coupling up with his wound. He took two sharp breaths before removing his hand from his neck. He couldn't feel the blood trailing down anymore, in fact it felt as though most of it had dried onto his skin and into his clothes, but he couldn't really feel much of anything at that moment.

Reno looked down at Alpha again and picked up the blade that was still in her hand. Just thinking of the things she said, the way she had acted... He lifted the blade higher. "I may be an animal but I still choose to serve whom I will. Today, I chose to serve myself." He took the blade with both hands now before thrusting it down into Alpha's chest, where her heart would be, if the b***h even had one anymore. "You stupid...c**t!" He lifted the knife up and stabbed her again...and again. He thought of Rude, of Mirage...of Hojo who got him here. And then there was Touscon, who could have very well been dead by now if she had exposed herself. He grunted as he sat back, left the knife in the Raven's chest. He breathed deeply through his nostrils, staring at her corpse and taking in what he had done.

The red head took the satchel from his back and put a bloody hand inside, searching around for food. He pulled out some jerky and gnawed at it ravenously, ripping it apart, hardly chewing and swallowing. At least he didn't have to listen to her goddamn whining anymore.

There were treacherous bones in her body. This was what she had discovered. Their collective soul was in her hands, an extension of her crude emotions and corrupted mind, so flexible it bent to the will of the animal above her and responded in kind. Sharp and harsh, the writhing of pain to become the same in fluid songs of ecstasy, moved by the body that forced her down, brought her up, simultaneously played her to the tune he chose and broke not only rebellion but desire. Flames of resistance diminished and were stoked by a lusty and physical dominance, weaving seamlessly within her chest with her own poison. Poison that made every movement aggressive, every sound amplified by hungers fighting to devour his flesh and her soul. Sacrifice the self, use the shell to save the spirit in it. Scrape fingers, massage and seek—slip them where access is difficult, made easier by the rape of her power—only to hear suddenly the hissed intake of breath. Rub harder, come higher, move to distract, pretend to leave, test the area, make it come….

And then her hand thrust into the loin, dangerously sharpened nails—always—piercing through skin and ripping past the artery into muscle, severing him short and doubling the outcry already loud above her—mingling with her own fierce scream, loathing and passion inseparable. “Daryl,” she gushed, tried to say evenly, could not for her loss of breath. He was not yet gone though, as true to his status of leader. Defiantly, with the same frightening steadiness, one hand rose to her neck, fingers contracting with more strength than she had hoped he still had left. Gasping, she let a soft moan escape her involuntarily, feeling the euphoric heat of his blood pouring over her abdomen and legs as slowly he grew heavier atop of her. She knew a perpetual coldness was setting in, but he was fighting it every moment. His steady eyes were slightly glazed over as his mouth approached her neck and she did the only thing she could think to do, bucking up against him and immediately digging her hand in further as the motion distracted his dually burdened senses. Twisting her head away and thankful her hair was slightly getting in the way, she continued, twisting the fingers inside of him and ripping, digging in wherever and whatever she could. The more damage… the more blood lost….

Finally with a deep, heavy expulsion of breath, his body sank down atop of hers limply. She held her breath for as long as time as she could, waiting to see if by any possible chance it could be a trick. If she had hit the wrong spot, or not done enough damage… his recuperation was possible. She waited, began breathing again, slowly and softly. Several minutes passed, and at last, she took a deep breath and shuddered, feeling queasiness within her stomach. “Thanks for helping me let out my frustration, pig,” she hissed gently, her energy fast wasting away, and spat in his face. Raising her knee she shoved him off her before anything else happened. Groaning softly from the effort, she heaved a deep sigh of relief once her body had been released. She felt paper thin and…. Abruptly she heaved herself onto her forearms and hurled onto the ground repeatedly until at last her stomach was contracting emptily.

Gaia… she was tired. Dragging herself over to where her clothes lay, she steadily picked them up and looked down at herself. …she hadn’t seen herself like this in so long. She felt… very human, all of a sudden. A chill raced over her flesh and she shivered, but still was able to put on the clothes only slowly. Finally, she glanced over her shoulder at the dead body of the Ravens’ pack leader. He had not moved, and the blood was still draining from the way the dirt between the grass was tinged. She needed to make sure however…. Walking over to his bag, she rummaged in it until she found what she needed: a long knife, perfect for the carving of meat. Silently, dutifully, she walked back to the body and within a couple of minutes, had sawed off the head of the Raven. It was a gruesome, cruel thing to do… but it was one of the very few ways to keep a Raven dead, and so she did it. Cleaning the knife on his clothes, she left his body for the wildlife and replaced all the contents of his bag into hers, the knife included. Stage one was complete, and if they were to consider the other parts easy, then they would need the supplies in these bags.

Slowly and with the silence only she possessed as a Raven adept and specializing in the arts of stealth, she crept to the west where she knew Reno was stationed with the b***h. It took her a good several minutes, until at last she came upon a familiar smell—blood. Abruptly she realized that she was still majorly scented in it and looked down at herself. She had used Daryl’s clothes to wipe off most of it, but some still caked. Another Raven would pick up on the scent where most would not be able to hear her. She slowed even further and tested the wind direction yet again. She was safe. They would not hear or scent her approach. Thus, they certainly would not see her. Darkness and night had already fallen.

Soon she came upon the sight of a clearing, and immediately notified by the silence, she recognized its safety. Sliding from the brush, her dark eyes settled on Reno’s form on the ground beside a corpse almost as badly mutilated as her own. She did not blink at the sight, and only glanced at it quietly for a moment before staring into the face of the red haired man she had done all this for. “Hey,” she said softly in form of a greeting. She was too tired to say anything else. It was apparent what had happened. He didn’t need to do any explaining, and she hoped she needn’t either. She… didn’t want to talk about it. “You look like s**t.” Shrugging lazily, she walked closer and stared down at him. “She looks worse though. Makes you look cute.”
