Santos' looked at Adia with a confused expression. "Grant my wish? What?" he though for a moment and then his face lit up. "Are you..? Are we..?" He couldn't get out a full sentence, he was too excited.
Nimbus looked up at Adia and tilted his head. Grant his daddy's wish? What wish? He couldn't figure it out. "What are you talking about Mommy? I don't understand," this whole thing was just confusing him.

Naida simply stood there grinning, but silent as she humoressly watched Santos and Nimbus take in the news. Sitting on her haunches, she lay a paw across Yiska's mouth, not wanting him to say anything as she leaned down and whispered, "Shh...just wait and see...your questions will be answered soon, little one."

A big smile crossed Adia's mussle and she nodded to confirm Santos's guesses and then looked over to the others. "I'm pregnant." She said and then looked at Yiska and Nimbus. "I'm going to have babies." She exclaimed as she looked back over to Santos and nuzzled her head against his neck.

Yiska whoops then tackles Nimbus in joy, unable to think of what else to do at the moment to celebrate.
"Congrats, Adia...Santos!" Though she'd been quick on the draw, to hear it aloud still panged Naida slightly to hear the news aloud though she carefully kept it from view. She was sure neither Adia or Santos would have caught it anyways, wrapped up in their joy. "Such love...such understanding and support between them. They'll make wonderful parents." she thought as she lay down and watched the cubs play.

Santos cheered and layed his head gently on hers. Closing his eyes he purred deeply. "They will be the most beautiful cubs, with the most beautiful mother, and the best big brother ever," Cubs! More little paws around the prides! More little cubs to play with in the cooling afternoon! This would be great!
Nimbus cheered and whooped and danced around until he was tackled. He yanked on Yiska's ear slightly as he cheered some more. "I'm gunna have little brothers and sisters!!"

Adia purred along with Santos as she curled herself in between Santos' forepaws like a little cub would. Of course if she had her way she'd never leave the security and strength that came with being so close to her mate. She was to be a mother. The idea was still settling in her head. Looking over at Yiska and Nimbus, she smiled. "Oh Santos just think we'll have more of them so very soon."

Naida nosed the antelope, then said, "Perhaps you should eat...you are eating for 3 or 4 now, and it would be best for you to keep your strength up. Having more cubs around will be delightful!"

Santos nodded. "Yes please eat. You must keep your strength up," he knew carrying around 2 or three cubs must be tiring. Now his protective side was kicking in. If only he had another adult male around the pride to help him out, that way he could spend his time protecting Adia.

Adia looked from Naida to Santos and smiled before moving away from Santos over to the gazelle. Quickly she tore into the gazelle and ate her fill which would grow quickly as she more then just for herself now.((*Is too excited to wait so skips through time again* 4laugh )) Again it was mid afternoon on the pride lands and again Adia was on her own and was becoming very nervous and worried as she paced back and forth now heavy with cubs. She had been restless for the last few days but had not wanted to bother Santos with her worries as he was so excited now about the upcoming birth and didn't need the extra worry on top of being pride king and upcoming father. However this afternoon Adia was far from restless she was hurting and scared too. This was her first birth and she didn't even have an experienced lioness around to tell her if this pain was normal.
It came in spasms at certain lengths of time and seemed to centered in her lower abdomen. Each time a new set of spasms came she had to stop her pacing and clench her teeth together to bear through the pain. Instincts were telling her to bed down and quickly but she was fighting the urges and looking for Santos hoping soon he would return. It was still so early in the afternoon she doubted he was even half through his patrol. Another pain spasm hit this one sending her to the ground she wouldn't be able to hold out much longer. She glanced out through the lands for any sign of Santos seeing none she sighed and reluctantly entered the main cave of the pride it was a huge cave and she would easily be able to hide herself within the many caverns within.
As she entered the cave another pain spasm this time however she did not clenge her teeth instead she screamed and slowly scrambled into her and Santos' bed chamber where there was already a nice bed of grass she had made just recently. She barely even reached the bed of grass before another pain spasm hit and this time she instantly began to push down out of instinct. Moments later a dark red male cub with black spots and stripes down his back and front legs plopped onto the grass bed. Adia quickly turned her attention to him and began to clean his fur. The little male cub let out a light cry of protest to Adia's cleaning but she wasn't cleaning him for long as another pain spasm hit and she pushed down again. This time a little female cub with a white body and black spots fell free and landed on her back on the grass bed. Adia was quick to clean her off as well and then lay down with a heavy sigh. Both cubs began to nurse once Adia was comfortable. Completely exhausted Adia meerily watched the two cubs with a gaze of unconditional love.

Santos trotted along the peaceful lake, and wished his mind would flow as gently as the water. His thoughts ran amuck in his head. He was worried about Adia and the unborn cubs, she seemed to be acting strangely lately.
As he heard her scream he wasted no time in jetting off across the lands. His paws thudded hard against the ground as he made his way up to the caves. When he reached the enterance he roared and headed towards their bed chamber. Upon reaching the chamber he got wide-eyed and padded slowly over to Adia. He tried to get a sentence out but the words tumbled over eachother and made no sense. Insted he stared at the cubs. A little dark red boy, and a white girl with black spots. He nuzzled them each in turn and then licked Adia's muzzle. "Our cubs.." was the only thing he was able to get out.

Adia's ears perked instantly at Santos' roar and she called out to him. When he entered the cave her ears fell back against her head and she smiled sheepishly at him. He seemed to be in shock as he tumbled and rolled over his own words and just stared. She couldn't help but giggle at him and nod. "Yes love. Our cubs." Adia said and licked Santos' muzzle. After a moment Adia curled her back legs and tail around the two little cubs while they nursed to keep them warm compared to the cool temperature of the cavern itself.

Santos curled protectively around his mate and cubs. Their cubs.. it sounded so.. right. Thinking for a moment he looked down at the little male again. "Our son.. how do you like the name Arsenic for our son?" He asked, purring deeply. He wasn't sure where the name came from, it just sort of rolled out of his mind and off his tongue.

Adia looked over her shoulder at Santos and then down to the little male. The little white rose on his shoulder was just like his fathers with a touch of her to it. "Arsenic fits him well." Adia agreed and then looked to the little female cub covered in black spots upon a white body. She just had this air of love and kindness around her. "What about Daveigh for her? It's supposed to mean Beloved." Adia said as the little female gave out an adorable yawn and curled into a ball and fell asleep next to Adia.

"I would not be able to think of a better name," he chuckled a little as he watched Arsenic scoot his way over Adia's paw and curl up against her chest. "We will tell the others tonight when they come in for bed. Nimbus is with Yiska and Naida by the lake so they will be fine until then," oh how thrilled the others would be.

Adia smiled and leaned back on Santos and yawned. "These two are so worth the exhaustion." She said as her voice began to waver and her eyes began to close. She lightly layed her head against Santos' mane and sighed. She was extremely tired now. "Wake me if anything happens." She said now no longer able to keep her eyes open at all as she drifted into a tired but peaceful sleep.
