Julian Sweet

It was in the younger boy's best interests that Julian had not seen him spike the various drinks. If he had, there would have been a possibility of the intern getting upset, and nobody honestly wanted to see that. Thus, it was a good thing that when Julian appeared out of nowhere next to Shuura and her clinging companion, he was too busy sipping at his kamikaze to note there were now labelled cups where there had been none set out before.

"Mr. Renhei, I presume," Julian stated as he took note of the child. His gaze lingered briefly on the boy's face before he seemed to focus his entire being back onto the cup in his hand. "I trust you are enjoying the party."

Julian didn't wait for a response. "Ms. Shuura undoubtedly is acting as a gracious hostess, is she not?"

There was a hint of amusement in his tone, as though he knew they knew he could care less if they were having fun or not. It was all part of the game of small talk, and Julian was not about to lose when it came to being subtle, yet horrible. He sorely needed the distraction.

Failing to properly address Julian excusing himself from the conversation in time, Tsu watched the younger lab assistant leaving with his old cup. This made Tsu realise that he was still thirsty... and now rather drinkless. "I'm sorry Kyou, I seem to have left my drink. If you'll pardon me..." Tsu said politely trying to extract himself from conversation with his brother. Moreso trying to cover up the fact that he really had nothing to say in the way of small talk currently.

Arriving at the non alcoholic beverage table, Tsu noticed odd cups of punch labeled for each of the party guests. Picking up the one with his name on it... Tsu was about to raise the liquid to his lips when he smelled something odd. Either this punch is really strong, or else someone spiked it... Tsu thought as the distinct smell of gin was in the air around the table. If this is Shuura's attempt at humor, she was gonna need to learn subtlety. he thought slightly bemused before pouring the contents of the cup out into a nearby plant. At least the cans of soda should be safe...

Before Shuura had even answered, Renhei was already blurting out his next question. "Shuura-neesan, will I get in trouble fo--" Renhei whirreled around at the sound of his name, letting go of Shuura alltogether. He gave a polite nod, uneasy that it was just the very person who Shuura had been plotting against. "Yes." He smiled nervously, grasping his hands behind his back and unable to keep his legs still.

Renhei glanced back to Shuura. "Yes.. she's thinking of all sorts of things for me to do." He chimed. "Including the one we're playing now." Renhei burst into a fit of giggles, and ducked a bit behind Shuura. He was probably going to get in trouble, but all he knew is that he'd seen that in a comic somewhere, and always wondered if it actually worked.

Happy with her drink, Aki offered Shuura a nod and drifted towards the seating...looking for a place to settle. the night had only just begun, and she was in no hurry to dash about. Instead, she got comfortable, took a sip, and smiled.

So many colorful people! Some of them very...dedicated to their drinking. Ears lifting a bit as she smiled, Aki shook her head and rattled the ice cubes in her still mostly full cup. Things were bound to get interesting!

Koyuki had observed midget and Shuura's actions from the doorway, and she smiled bemusedly. Not fond of alcohol herself, she made a mental note to stay away from the opened drinks in this party. However, she wasn't aversed to making her, say, assistant fall into a drunken stupor.

At least, until the next morning, when she needed him sober and working.

She wandered in and stopped next to the host of the party -- Julian, and his companions, the two mischievous guests of this party.

"Hello, Julian. Pleasant evening?" She smiled, "Sorry I arrived late. Raevan business, I hope they are taking care of themselves."

Shuura forced back a grimance with some effort. I guess kids will be kids, she thought to herself and couldn't hold back an irritable scowl. Although this means I can't get in any trouble as I can just blame whatever happens on him. After all, I technically did....nothing. Her grin reappeared. Kids are prone to...flights of fancy, after all. Who knows where they get their ideas from? She choked back a snicker as she realized that despite the kid's utter lack of subtlety, he would prove to be the perfect scapegoat should any of her...latter plans come to surface.

Her grin widened considerably as her intended victim of the night approached. "Juuuules!" She greeted beguilingly. "I'm amazed," she continued, deftly pouring out vodka into a shot glass, "that you've managed to pull off such a successful party. Did you know that I finally unpacked my last box today? It means," she swirled her own glass delicately for added emphasis, "That we're all officially moved in!"

Tugging slightly on the edge of her skirt--which was barely long enough to avoid being considered scandalous but undoubtedly a good number of inches short of traditional propriety--she handed the glass to the bespectacled young scientist, her slightly jeering stare daring him to reject it. "Here's to being neighbors for the rest of summer!" She raised her cup at him, but while doing so caught sight of the female who had just joined him.

Although she was no longer wearing a lab coat and hyperactively bouncing about with inhuman stamina, there was no doubt about it. It was the madwoman Shuura had hoped she'd never see again--the one responsible for her current status of unemployment!

Renhei glanced at Shuura, watching her facial expression change. She was plotting. He'd seen this face earlier. Hopefully she'd never plot against him, he rationed. If she did, he could just blame anything on her, because she was clearly a troublemaker -- even if he really thought she was pretty cool. His stomach grumbled then, obviously a bit upset and not settling from the food well. Renhei paled some. "Excuse me." He said, ever so politely before rushing passed the guests there and searching for the restroom.

"Right now?" Julian questioned, eyes hard and stern for a moment before the expression softened. Within that instant he had decided anything Shuura might come up with would most likely be more droll than a cause for concern. While the young man usually thought of his constantly stressed state of being as the only way to live, this was his party. He might as well at least try to be a civil and possibly relaxed individual, if only for one night.

As he took another drink from his steadily emptying cup, Julian was quite delighted to note that his boss had joined up with the little group. Honestly, more often than not the woman confused him completely, but it was something he had gotten used to. "Brilliance before sanity" had become his mantra. "No need to apologize, doctor. I'm doing quite all right and I don't believe the evening will be ending anytime soon."

Soon enough yet another person was talking at Julian, and he was forced to offer Shuura his ever important attention once more. Fortunately for the young woman, she had poured the liquid while the man's back had been turned, and he had little reason to be suspicious. It so happened that his previous glass had mysteriously emptied itself as well, making Shuura's toast all the more welcome. Gingerly, Julian recieved the cup, swirling the glass a little in some slight mockery of the female's own gesture. He raised his cup just barely in order to meet with his "friend"s, "To you not destroying my home during that time."

With that said, he promptly drank the entire shot all in one go. He was no stranger to alcohol, but time and again Julian managed to forget just how much was appropiate.

Aphismet

Hilarious Receiver

Taking another swig from the bottle, Aph frowned and sighed in disbelief. How big WAS this room?! What the Fu@%, he muttered under his breath, looking around.

Through the wobbly haze of drunkenness, (Well, to be perfectly honest the wobblyness was caused by his inability to stand straight, not by his eyesight) Aphismet spotted a pretty golden-haired girl who had managed to find the edge of the room! She was sitting on a chair, enjoying a drink. Ah, someone after his own heart! With a large grin, annoyance at the neverending room vanished, Aph began to stumble towards Aki.

Aphismet was surprised at the speed with which he made to the edge of the room. He figured he must have been ALMOST there, and had stopped just shy, before... The only sad thing was that now, he was just as far from the drinks table. At least he'd brought his own!

"Hell-... Hel-LOW!" He practically screamed, leaning towards Aki from a few seats away where he plopped himself down. "Oh!" he startled himself with the volume of his voice, and pulled back, lifting a hand to his mouth and continuing in a near-whisper. "Oh, I'm ssso shorry. I mean, sorry. Sorry! Whussathinger... OH, um, I'm Aphme... Aphmet. A-PHI-smet." He grinned dumbly and swayed. After a short moment he remembered to intruduce his Raevan too, vaguely recalling he was supposed to do that. "And thisssh, is Rivener," he waved to the air next to him, to the absent Raevan.
