The canine measure his options for a moment, the strange scent and the heat still fogging his mind, but he decide to go with Shala'ia to stay on the safe side.

Shala'ia continued into the cave, not seeming to notice that Yami was following her, or rather not caring.

The walls of the cave seemed to glitter and glimmer in what little light there was, but it was the glimmer of liquid, not of crystal or metal. However, near the entrance, an old pile of bones sat, with what looked like a lantern in it's bleached 'hands'.

Shala'ia has slowed almost to a near stop, looking about her at the cave walls. She had never seen anything like this before, not in all her rather long if still short life. When she saw the lantern, and what was holding it, she blinked, frowning lightly before heading over to it. She stopped a good five inches from it, dropping to her knees, staring at it, wondering if it was safe to take the latern or not.

Yami watched the cave walls with fascination before noticing Shala'ia's attention had been taken by something. He walked over slowly and peeked over her form to see what she was looking at. He knelled, not thinking as much as Shala'ia, not out of stupidity or carelessness, as he reached for lantern, careful to not damage to bones that grip it as he tried to take it away from it. He was used to taking things from the dead, as it was no use for them, if he manage to take items form them, tho, he thank them. He knew well the dangers that lurk with being so bold, but he had long learn to not fear or doubt his instincts.

The lantern came easily into his hands. Whatever had killed this poor soul, it didn't seem to be active right now. There was even a small flint and steel attached to a bag, up on the handle.

It was a good thing that nothing happened, of Shala'ia might have killed the german shepard herself for his lack of lodgical thinking. She still glared lightly over at Yami as she stood, looking around before back at the bones. "... What trickery is this...." It wasn't a statement, or a question, just a thought that she had probably meant to keep to herself, but was so deep in thought that she voiced it allowed without truly meaning to.

Yami smiled and looked at the bones. "thank you." He said gently before looking at the lantern, inspecting it before using the flint to turn it on. He could feel Shala'ia's....glare, per se; thought it did little to ruin his mood. Holding the lantern up and front he started to walk a bit, before stopping to look back at the dragon then away, speaking to himself out loud. "I don't know if dragons can see in the dark, but I sure can't, so I am glad this was here." He seem rather glad for the coolness of the cave.

The walls of the cave glinted again, with the light now, but they were slimy looking, algae and the like growing on them. The cave was deep enough the light didn't reach the back, so it was impossible to tell how deep it truly was from here. The bones were the only ones visible at the moment.
There were also stalagmites and stalactites in here. This cave clearly had water getting into it, but where from?

"We dragons can see just fine, night or day, if nothing grabs out interest." She headed off deep into the cave, aiming to find out just what it was that made this cave the way it was. "It's not impossible or unheard of for volcanos to be near underground water pockets."

"It is weird....." He looked over to the at the cave, wondering as he walked after her. His fingers touched a stalagmite, feeling the moister in his fingertips as he moved on and looked closer to the algae growing on the walls. With that kind of food and water source, he thought, they would see more creatures, but besides the scorpion outside...

As they move, the light from the lantern seems to hit something that gleams differently from the walls, in a small alcove to one side. It glittered for a moment, a pretty gleam.

She nodded lightly at Yami's comment, continuing to walk until a sudden glittering caught her eye. She blinked looking off into the alcove before heading for it, wondering what the light had hit, after all, bones did not glitter so.

Yami blinked several times as his eyes caught the glittering. He started to head for it as well, his ears perking up forward as he listen closely as his eyes watched his steps, thought kept checking their goal. What was it...

There are three things in the alcove. One is a chest, one is a vial, and one is a note. The glittering was coming from the metal keyhole of the chest and the vial. The glass on it was black, so what was within could not be seen.
