A memory of Demyx calling Luxord "Daddy" popped into his mind, and then Kaleb had to agree with Nonet. "Well, he's probably not really a... typical dad."
He inhaled deeply, wearing a large smile. "I really hope it rains."

"Rain is good." She liked it. Not that it rained at the castle alot but playing in the fountians was fun and rain was bound to be like that.
"He's more of a nother brother rather than a dad."

Kaleb took another deep breath as he enjoyed the weather, before pausing just outside the shop as though he had just remembered something. "Did you need to be anywhere?"

"Not really." She didnt want to go home so she wasnt going to. Her Father would either get mad or he wouldnt no matter how long she was gone.
"I mean, if i was going to get in trouble it would be for leaving and not for how long i was gone. But if Father was really worried he'd just come find me"

Kaleb looked vaguely alarmed that she might get in trouble. "M-my parents usually worried if I was out longer than they expected. Are you sure Luxord would be able to track you down if he worried?"

"Yea. He goes looking for Demyx if he gets worried and that one time i was lost in the castle he found me." She shruged. "So if he was worried or he needed me i'm sure he'd come looking."

Kaleb nodded in understanding, but he couldn't help but wonder if Luxord's methods for tracking were magical in nature, or perhaps something as mundane as a cell phone.
"I was thinking of heading back to the park to do a bit more reading, would you be interested in joining me?" Usually the healer wasn't nearly so comfortable around people, but perhaps this was an exception.

"Sure." Her ears perked up again at the thought. Usually she had to hide from her siblings if she wanted to read since Vivace didnt get the idea of sitting still so this would be good.

Kaleb smiled as they headed back towards the park. "It's been awhile since I've read out in the rain," he said, glancing up at the dark skies. As if on cue, a small raindrop landed on his nose. "But if you wanted to go somewhere else, somewhere drier, I don't mind."

"Did you already forget who my dad is?" She giggled. "I like the rain, its fun."
Playing in the water was one of her favorite pasttimes and probably one of the few ways she took after Demyx. "But wont the books get wet? Or do you know how to keep them dry?"

The thought of someone else enjoying the rain as much as he did made Kaleb grin. "I wouldn't be able to dry off the bench if it gets wet before we get there, but I am pretty good at maintaining a waterproof shield."

"I can deal with a wet bench." After all the robes were rather good at keeping things dry so that didnt worry her. "But the books are another matter. It would suck to get them all wet and smudged"

Kaleb nodded, books were too precious to get wet and ruined. Especially brand new books. "I'll keep the rain out," he said with a smile. "I read outside as often as I can, and shielding out the rain is good practice."

"That's a good skill...... you'll have to teach me how to do it one day."
She leaned her head back and looked up at the sky. "I hope there's thunder."

Kaleb grinned, "It means I never need to worry about forgetting an umbrella. You'll probably find something you can adapt to such a shield in one of those books you've got."
He followed her gaze, looking up at the clouds. Just considering his usual nervous tendancies, you would think Kaleb would be afraid and jumpy at thunder or lightning, but that wasn't the case. "Me too, we haven't had a really good thunderstorm in awhile."
