i would say spike but he never said he wanted to be human and angel was all "ohh i wanna be real, wahwahwah" spike did go through more punishment, falling in love with the slayer, the chip, the soul getting, the soul, the first, the realisation of so may things, he was a ghost and he had to be ripped out of that necklace, he was better friends with gunn (not like angel and gunn) and illyria and gunn died. he probably didnt want to be human anyway

TheBurklePersona Personally, I think Spike would be happy remaining a vampire. I don't think he sees his redemption as becoming human again. He didn't really like being human in the first place. (Dru "saved" him from a life of mediocrity, and all that.) I think if Spike were to find redemption, he would want something different. He only wanted to fulfill the prophecy because Angel wanted it, and he wanted to spite Angel. Besides, I think Spike - being the writer that he is - would find it more poetic to be a vampire with a soul. Angel wants to be human again, and he's done more good, comparatively. Spike only recently got his soul back, and I think it would be a long time until he worked off his "debt" to humanity, so to speak. I like your explaination domokun First off, I dunno, maybe its just me but I dont think Spike was fighting for his soul back. I think that was just a trick on words by the demon who gave spike back his soul. For example, spije went there saying he wants to give that b***h what she deserves. I personally thought he wanted to be able to kick the s**t out of her again (pardon my french) but when he told the demon "i want to give that b***h what she deserves" I think the demon gave his soul back as a way of saying "buffy deserves a boyfriend with a soul" not neccessarily spike wanting it. I dunno, thats just my opinion though. I dont think Spike nor Angel would be happy in human form. How would you feel if you had millions of dollars, and then just lost it all in one moment. Hell I'd be depressed.

I think Angel, Spike has fun as a vampire, he's never not enjoyed it. Angel has brooded for SO long, let him have the humany-ness. I believe Spike is content with having a soul and super powers, Angels so mellow that he'd be happy being human, marrying and getting old (with Buffy) maybe putting on a few pounds and dying happily surrounded by hot grandchildren. And spike would still be all alive and (for the spike fans) sexy as ever forever... so really think, you do you want to be hot and sexy forever and who do you want to marry and settle down with? I choose Spike for a good times and Angel for a serious relationship
