Wendy heard an odd sort of knocking at her door. It's probably him. She quickly and quietly stood up. She smoothed out her clothes and checked her face. Good no red eyes. Her hands wiped her cheeks being sure to leave no trace of wetness from those few tears.

Straightening her back she walked back to her door. Maybe if I pretend nothing happened things will be fine. She opened the door and saw Farris, a tear sliding down his face as he hit his head on the door. "Oh I just knew you were more of a girl than I was." She said with a disgusted tone. She heaved a sigh and looked around. I can't let the men see this...if he ends up crying, I'll be out of a first mate!

She reached out and grabbed his collar forcing him into her room. "Geez, watcha doin' going around cryin' like that!" She asked. "The men will think your a yella' bellied coward if they see ya like that! I've hit you harder than that before."

Wendy looked at him for a moment. Her expression softened and she walked closer to him. "I dont' want you to leave. You're my first mate, my brother...I need you." She said, much kinder than before, realizing then that she had reached out and put and hand on his shoulder. She quickly let got and backed up a few steps. "Just.. pull yourself together, and get on deck. We've got to bring this ship in soon." She added slightly more strict, but not angry, then turned around and left the room closing the door behind her, leaving him to pull himself together. It's fine, everything's going to be fine. In a few seconds she was up at the wheel watching the island that was fastly approaching.

The ship finally pulled into dock. The men tied the ship up and Wendy headed out to town, after telling the men that they may not be staying long. She was not sure how things would go or how long it would take to find this sibling of hers.

Wendy walked through the crowded town. The place had changed a bit since she had been there. Seemed almost as if the population had doubled since her childhood. Not only that but the place was crawling with dirty bars great for men looking for a good time. She walked past them with out thinking much of it though. Seen worse...

Finally she came to a small white house on the edge of town. A child sat in the front of the house, covered from head to toe in dirt and who knows what else. He didn’t say any thing, just watched Wendy curiously with his bright blue eyes. She crouched down by the little boy and smiled sweetly.

“Does a woman by the name of Maria Harper still live here boy?” She asked kindly. The boy nodded. “Can you take me to her?” She asked now. The little boy smiled and grabbed Wendy’s hand. He stood up and led her running into the house as he screeched the word “Momma!”

Following the child into the house she found the place to be crawling with children. Well, I see she’s been busy. She counted about 5 children, 6 with the one holding her hand, before she finally met the woman she was looking for.

“Yeah yeah! What is it Freddie?” The now rounded woman asked in a slightly annoyed voice. She was drying her hands on a apron, sweat was glistening on her forehead. The child, Freddie, pointed at Wendy then ran off. “Yeah? What do you want?” She looked at Wendy for a second before adding, “Do I know you?”

“Well Yes.” Wendy told her folding her hands behind her back. “I don’t know if you remember, Dan Render?”

Maria looked at her a moment then the light bulb in her head seemed to go on. “Aye!” She shouted. “I remember ye! Yer Dan’s little girl!”

“Ah, so you remember then.” Wendy said not completely sure if that was good or bad thing.

“Remember? How could I forget?” She asked as if it were common knowledge. “The man leaving me, pregnant, with not but this house and a little cut up piece of paper! I knew I shouldn’t have listened to him when he said he wanted to settle down! Just look at me now! Forget him…Say he wouldn’t be around? I’d love to give him a piece of my mind.”

“No, I’m sorry but he died ‘bout a month ago.”

“Oh…died did he? Sounds like Dan always taking the easy way out…” Maria grumbled.

“Look I just came here cause I need to speak to the child of Dan’s that you bore. It’s very important that I find him or her. Are they around here?” She asked hopefully.

“Oh! Dan’s child? No they wouldn’t hang out round here. Haven’t since they was old ‘nough to.”

“Well then where could I find them?” She asked slightly frustrated.

“I don’t know! I think Greg and Gabe hang around some bar down there by the bar. Nasty bar it is. It’s called Seaweed I think.” She looked off then her face turned red all of a sudden. “Hey! What you doing there Tom!” She shouted angrily as she rushed over to one of the children that was now eating what looked like dirt. “You spit that out now!”

“Thanks…I guess I’ll be going now.” Wendy said though Maria didn’t seem to be listening. She really wanted to know which of the names she had given her was her brother’s, but it was good enough. She didn’t really like that woman and didn’t wish to be hanging around her any more.

She walked through the streets again back towards the docks looking over the signs as she did. At last she came upon a bluish wooden sign with the words “The Seaweed” printed on it. It wasn’t as bad as some of the other ones, but it was still a bar, crowded with drunk men and whores and filled with loud annoying music and laughter. I don’t see why men like these places. She saw a woman walk by with golden tresses, her face made up, and wearing a very tight, low cut dress that accentuated her large chest. Oh yeah, that’s why…

Putting on a brave face, she entered the bar and started asking around for a Gabe or Greg Harper.

Gabe and Greg darted out of alleys making sure to stay away from each other and they both enjoyed the double takes they got from some people. Gabriel chuckled to himself as he ran down an alleyway and then ran straight into Gregory. "Hey! How's 'bout we take a break and relax?" he asked.

Gregory thought about it for a moment and sighed. "Hum.. Let's meet back up at the Seaweed. You take the left I'll take the right," he said pointing to another street.

Gabriel nodded and they split again, both headed for the seaweed to see which one would get there first.

Gregory saw a woman coming his way and then she stopped him from going any further and asked his name. "Who wants to know?" he asked as he looked for Gabriel.. where was he?

Gregory glared at the woman and looked for Gabriel again. "My name is Gregory Harper," he said as he stepped back away from the woman. He had been yelled at before by his Ma but he didn't know this woman and he didn't know why she was angry. Lucky for her his temper hadn't bitten back.

Farris walked out of the bar a little behind Wendy. He watched her talking to a young man that confessed to being Gregory Harper. He smiled and sighed, lookign around. And saw him. It was the boy Wendy was talking to...no...Farris looked back to Wendy and then back to the boy...it was his twin!!!
