Grim turned to her with wide-eyes when she mentioned the Titans but simply shrugged it off. Well, I dont know what I can do...but I cant have you crying. he said as he wiped one of her fallen tears. He never did like the way Brother Blood treated her. For being his daughter he really didnt treat her like it. As for Dioko, she was the only thing in this world that scared Grim. I doubt ANYBODY at this place wants Dioko out, besides...you have me to cry on. he thought that last comment with a sly voice but he quickly realized what he was doing andquickly changed his tone. I mean, there is nothing wrong with just being friends...with others out of HIVE I mean. he said as he lightly chuckled.

Who was he kidding. Out of everyone, Kioko was his only friend.

Dont worry...he wont...not as long as I am around. he thought as he gently patted her head to try and calm her down.

On the opposite side of the wall, the hallway, stood a figure. It was short in stature but had a mechanical thing against the wall.

Grim's head suddenly shot up as he realized that they were being eavesdropped on. He closed his eyes and with his free hand, manuvered his shadow through the door, connecting with the other's shadow.

"What?!" said as high-pitched voice as he found himself unable to move.
Grim gently moved Keiko as he opened the door, revealing the culprit, Gizmo.

"What?! Grim?! Come on, lemme go!!! Wha?!?!" he said as Grim quickly pulled him into the room.

Even though I know you couldn't hear a damn thing, why were you trying to eavesdrop? he thought as he gave him a dirty look, closing the door.

"Come on, I didnt hear anything. You two can talk into your heads. I heard your voice and thought I'd test out--"

He stopped as he saw Grim's face. WHY were you eavesdropping? he thought to Gizmo as he put his hand on the intruder's forehead, turning up the heat.

"Ahgh....please...stop....Blood told me to keep an eye....on Keiko! OWW!!!"
he said as Grim released him, turning to Keiko. His shadow was still dominating the short one's so he was unable to move. "Fricken mud-muncher...!@#@$$%^"

"You have something to say to him before I toss him out like the trash that he is??"

"Ah...I aint gonna say--" Gizmo started but Grim clenched his fist, sending a sharp pain through the shadows towards him. "YEOW!!! Alright, friken muncher...he wanted to make sure you werent doing anything he would object to....whatever he meant by that." he said as Grim now opened his palm, a dark ball of energy showing (like Raven). "I don't know why but I ditched when you got jumped. That's all I know, I SWEAR!!!" he yelled as Grim's hand drew closer to his head which was now covered with beads of sweat.

If you are lying, all I have to do is concentrate enough and I will wipe your memories and make you suffer. he thought.

"All right. I am not lying!!! God, if only Rilect were here, he would think you are trying to date Kei--" he stopped as it appeared Grim was making his shadow choke Gizmo's.

Enough...or I will do it. he said as he released his shadow choke hold.

"Anything else Keiko?" he asked as he looked like he was getting ready to toss the short person out.

"How would I know? One of them, I know had wings, and they were big! I was in the shadows and all I saw was his back, so if there were others then I didnt see." he said rather willingly after the sudden torture he was enduring.

Wings? he said to both of them. Like angel wings?

"I guess...but I left once he spotted me, you were already down for the count. His eyes were glowing red, as if he was being possessed or controled. Yeow!!!" Gizmo bellowed as Grim tossed him out of the door, closing it quickly.

Zuno. he thought to himself but he did it too fast, it slipping to Keiko.

Grim's eyes widened as Dioko came out. He fell to his butt and scooted to a corner. He had never felt anything as horrible as Dioko's aura or her thoughts. Zuno...you done messed with the wrong person. he though to himself. He was about to leave the room when Dioko made eye contact with him. "Uhh....hi, Dioko." he said with a voice that was full of fear.

Denorian followed Cyborg to his lab, which coincidentally happened to be his bedroom. Denorian felt even more insignificant following the robo-man through the enormous, clean and beautiful hallways of the Titan’s tower.

Denorian finally stopped in the hallway, quietly, his shame overwhelming not just from being the dirty street punk in the hero’s lair, but letting this hero help him even after he had broken the law.

Cyborg finally noticed the stranger had stopped following him, he was still suspicious, too many people had shown up today that he wasn’t comfortable with for him to shake the feeling readily. “Hey dude, what the matter, got cold feet?”

Denorian hesitated for a moment before staring at the ground. “Man, Cyborg, I thank you for helping me but I don’t think I’m worthy of it, I’m just a small time street rat and you’re a freakin Titan.”

Cyborg smiled gently, “Hey man, don’t sweat it, that’s what we’re here for, to help the helpless, right the wrongs, and all that jazz.”

“No you don’t understand,” Denorian pulled off the gloves and handed them to Cyborg, “Here take these, they don’t even belong to me, I know its wrong to steal but it’s the only thing I know how to do.”

Cyborg took the gloves in his hands while taking a deep breath, “You got a lotta guts coming here if you’re a crook.” Cyborg’s voice carried a hard edge that made Denorian flinch, but he continued on in a surprisingly sympathetic tone. “But I know where you’re coming form, hard times have fallen on a lot of people here in Jump City, the important thing is that you didn’t do it out of malevolence.” Cyborg’s voice turned hard again. “Just make sure you right this little wrong and we won’t have any problem, k?”

Denorian just nodded. “Alright then,” Cyborg finally said with his trademark chipper attitude, “let’s see that arm of yours.”

Denorian sat down on Cyborg’s recharge station that now acted as a examining table. Denorian pulled his jacket off and Cyborg got his first full look at the problem at hand. “That’s Slade tech,” Cyborg dryly remarked. “Lets see, its mainly connected at the shoulder, and man, I can see why you are having the pain, this is fixed on in a purely functional fashion…hm looks like they only had time to finish the arm, good thing you haven’t tried to use it for any heavy loads, without proper support that arm would rip itself off your shoulder.” Denorian looked startled. “I could do the reinforcements myself,” He saw Denorian grimace. “Or you could without a right arm for the rest of your life.”

“Ugh, tough choice, I think I’d like to keep it, it comes in handy…no pun intended.” Denorian weakly smiled at his even weaker joke, he was still a bit overwhelmed; everything was moving way to fast. Three months ago his was just a piece of street crud, now he’s in the Titan’s tower being fixed by the one and only Cyborg. Boy would Miss Ann be proud, that’s when a though bubbled up in his mind.

“Hey Cyborg.”

“Hm?”

“Uh, I was thinking, since I got this arm an all…man this is stupid…and I’m pretty good at fighting, you think maybe I could join the Titans?”

“Ha, a second ago you were admitting to me that you were a thief and now you want to be a Titan.”

Denorian rubbed the back of his head, feeling stupider than ever. “Yeah, I guess, I shouldn’t have asked…stupid question.”

Cyborg took pity on the guy, “Hey, tell you what, after I fixed you up, you show me what you got and I might talk to Robin about it.”

“Really? Well thanks.” Denorian almost smiled like a kid.

Cyborg worked calmly on the stranger's arm, he had only been working for a while, he had many hours to go. He was appalled at the fashion the arm was attached, he realized that the arm wasn't only attached with just operation in mind, it was designed to cause maximum pain. "Dude," Cyborg mumbled quietly, "how could you endure this?" Denorian, sedated, didn't answer.

Cyborg continued to work when he heard Robin pass by his door. "Hey Robin, come in here for a minute."

Beast Boy looked scared. "Sorry Zuno." he said as he ran to fetch the others. Zuno looked around. He was dazed from the shock. He looked around and saw a red button of the remote that BB dropped. He used his wind to push the button and the intruder alert came on. THe tower suddenly was filled with red lights, signalling the intruder alert. Zuno lightly smirked. "Ungh...our fight? Lets take it....where none of my friends or Keiko's....get hurt." Keiko? Why do I know that name. Have I met her before? he thought as he grabbed his head. Zuno tried to flap his wings, but was unable to lose Dioko's grip.

Robin entered Cyborg's room. "What is....Slade." he said as he noticed the arm.

"ROBIN!!!!" Beast Boy yelled as he rolled into the room. He transformed from the armadillo and was frantic. "Zuno....huff....in trouble..." he started as the intruder alert came on.

"Cyborg, stay here. Finish and protect Denorian. Beast Boy, let's go." Robin said as they were already down the hall.

"Yo, I'll be there in a sec!" Cyborg said as he went back to the arm, still apalled at how the arm was installed.

Robin and Beast Boy were going down the hall. They were coming up to the door as Grim suddenly appeared in front of them. His eyes were still closed but his shadow instantly engulfed both people, stopping their movements.

"What? Who are you!?" BB and Robin said in unison.

"His name is Grim." a soft emotionless voice said from behind them. A dark aura appeared and outstepped Raven. "He is evil but he is actually saving your life."

"Hmph...you make me sound like such a hero." Grim said as he released Robin and BB.

"Why?" Robin said as he turned to Raven.

"That girl. I have never seen someone with so much anger...so much hate...since my father..." Raven said as he lowered her head.

"If you interfere, you along with Zuno will die." Grim said as he got ready to stop them if they barged.

Back in the room, Zuno was hanging by Dioko's arm on his shirt. Damn. I can't break free. he said as he looked. He noticed that the bat blade that Robin threw earlier was still on the wall. Zuno used one of his free hands to shoot the blade back at them, tearing his shirt collar and nipping his ear. Dioko shot back and Zuno quickly mauvered his hands, opening a window. "Care to take this outside?" he said as he flew out using his hands as a boost from the wind. The excessive force opened the doors, showing Robin, Beast Boy, Raven, and Grim.

Dioko has gotten even more angry. s**t, we all may be dead. Grim thought to himself as he turned, watching what was left of Zuno disapear from the window. Zuno....this is all your fault!
