Allen frowned. When after five minutes the lights hadn't come back on and they hadn't heard the sound of anyone else around, he grudgingly agreed. "You're right. I think we're alone here. The lights don't seem to be planning to come back on anytime soon, so let's try to find an exit, shall we? He stood, clicking on the little flashlight again and holding out his hand for her in the dark to help her up.

Her warm, small hand sliding into his in the dark caused a delighted shiver to run down his spine. What the heck? He blinked the sensation away and nodded, then remembered the darkness and agreed verbally. "Good idea." He waited for her to move. If he bumped into her, he could bowl her off her feet, but if she bumped into him, it wouldn't matter as much.

He was suprrised to find himself very much enjoying tha fact that she was holding his hand. He shook his head at himself in the dark, telling himself in a mildly sternly way to grow up. "The flashlights would probably be in one of the desk drawers." He said quietly. He didn't know why he was whispering, but darkness and being in a security office unathorized just invited it. His eyes had adjusted to the dark, but it was still dark as anything in that office. He though he could make out the shape of the desk a few paces away. He placed his hands on Shade's back and gently guided her ahead of him so he wouldn't knock into her in the dark. "I think the desk is over here..."

"Are you alright?" Allen flushed when he found her back against his chest, but before he could react she'd bent over and was digging through drawers. She stood up, triumphant, and again her back was touching his chest. He grabbed her shoulders to steady her, keeping her against him. When the beam of the flashlight pierced the darkness, he gave a sigh of releif. The exhaling of breath made his chest press against her back. He quickly released her shoulders and moved slightly away. It was inappropriate to stand so close to a girl like that. He could be charged with harrassment or something. "Yes, that's much better." He agreed with a smile as he tried to get his heartbeat back to normal. "Now let's go find an exit, shall we?"

Again his heart skipped a beat when she took his hand. It was just because it was dark, that was all. Even with the powerful flashlight, it was still dark. He stumbled as she began to run, but found his footing and followed after her, too surprised by her sudden burst of speed to question what the heck was wrong with her and why on earth she was running when tripping would be so easy in the dark. "Fine." He agreed, like he had much of a choice.

Allen's breaks were a little slower than the smaller, lithe Shade, so when she suddenly stopped, he ran full into her, knocking her onto the floor and landing on top of her, sending the flashlight skittering across the tile floor of the food court.

"Sorry," he gasped, pushing himself up on his arms and looking down at her to make sure he hadn't hurt her. "Are you alright?" He asked softly, still winded. There was enough light from a few battery-powered advertisements to make the scene of the foodcourt ethereal and almost unreal.

Allen was fascinated with the way her chest was rising and falling as she caught her breath, and the way she blushed made her eyes seem to sparkle, even in the dark. He could feel his breathing only growing quicker as her eyes once again captivated him, this time coupled with the feel of her heavy breathing beneath him.

Pervert. He thought angrily of himself, rolling off of her. "It's alright." He murmurred, catching his own breath as he lay on the cool tile, silently berrating himself for letting his imagination get the best of him. No wonder people these days were so nervous about teenagers being alone with men.
