Hi, I'm Jeriwen... I've been playing DnD for about a year and a half... I'm the stereotypical, 'type-classed' Healer/Cleric with the personality to match! 4laugh
And I'm new to the forums ^^

Wow! Things have gotten busy around here fast! I feel so powerless to organize all this new info, so I'll just do my best to make sure everything gets moving smoothly.
First order of business: Welcome to all new members, we are glad to have you!

This seems it'd be a fun guild, but I'm not sure if I'd want to join a campaign just yet. I'm still working on the actual roleplaying part of DnD ^^;

Jeriwen This seems it'd be a fun guild, but I'm not sure if I'd want to join a campaign just yet. I'm still working on the actual roleplaying part of DnD ^^; Roleplaying is probably the easy part, just make a character thats like you to start out with and once you get used to it you can make all sorts of Insane characters. I think the real hard part is learning all the rules.

Not sure if there was a specific thread for questions, but I was wondering if characters can be pretty much any race, or if there's a restriction on the level adjustment.
For example: one of my characters I have for the pen & paper version is a Half-Celestial/Half Wood-Elf, so I was wondering if I'd be able to use that same character here.

Nice forum guys. Just a quick story I thought I'd share with you all, to maybe give you a smile.
So I'm playing at my neighbors house last night. He's a cleric, but he just joined the campaign. We make it through the first 6 days, only encountering 8 undead zombies. And the rest of the time we were fine (except our ranger was on the verge of dying from a cr 3 spider). So we healed her, and continued. We take watch posts for the night time. I'm on watch 2 with the rogue, and the ranger and cleric are watch 1, who're asleep now, because they've already done there watch. So we roll for encounters, and I roll a 1, making an encounter. It's 2 toad-men (forget what they're called, it's sloggs I think. But gimme a break I was up at 2:30 am doin this).
Apperently, my character came off with a holier than though attitude at the get go. But the cleric was very arrogant. Well, the 2 frog-men came up and started talking to us, and we figured the DM (person playing the cleric) wanted us to RP around this. But they were chaotic. I'm chaotic good, the rogue is chaotic neutral. The other 2 are asleep, BUT the cleric is lawful good.
So they are talking to myself and the rogue (I'm a sorcerer just so you know). And they asked if we're honorable. I didn't know it was based on our alignment. But they say "No, we've sensed your aura, you're not honorable." because I'm chaotic good. Well I got offended. "Oh yea? Well if you think I'm not honorable, we got a cleric in the tent..." Then the DM looked at me. "Ok mike, watch what you say around these creatures."
"Oh really?" says the frog-men. "Where is he?" So I gotta think for a minute. "Uhh...in the tent...>.>". So this ticks off the DM, he threatens to stop the campaign right then, because of what happened. When I ask, he says "Let me give a run down of what you just did."
"Taking the sorcerers tip, they head into the tent. After sensing his aura they determine he is an honorable man, and butcher him, dragging his corpse with them as they run away." then he looks up at me. "You just got your healer killed."
So basically, I killed out healer, and we had to pawn our only magic item to get the gold to pay for the resurrection. I killed the healer. I felt stupid afterwards, and instead of getting 800xp and 200 RP xp, I only got the 800.

nazgurath falanor talik Not sure if there was a specific thread for questions, but I was wondering if characters can be pretty much any race, or if there's a restriction on the level adjustment. For example: one of my characters I have for the pen & paper version is a Half-Celestial/Half Wood-Elf, so I was wondering if I'd be able to use that same character here. This is an exellent place for such questions, although for this specific one, it is best to ask the specific DM behind the game. For example, I am currently running a level 1 campain and I do take into account level adjustment (as some players in the game can vouch for, but i'm willing to work around certain things...). Meanwhile, PyroStar is starting up a "sixth" level campain that does not use level adjustment, and focuses specifically on half-breed charecters, like the one listed above; you might want to check it out.

Hmmm... reminds me of the time I killed the cleric wink
I was playing a Rakshasa and for some reason the DM decided to put me in a field of daffodils or something. Just an endless field that sretches away to every side of me into nothing but daffodils. I've been wandering in this field for about two weeks and suffice it to say I am pissed! Then all of a sudden this little human creature pops out of nowhere, humming cheerily in the sunlight that has not let me rest for two weeks, and drapes a wreath of flowers around my neck.
About an instant later I'd crit with both my rapiers and in on fell slice with my blades cut the cleric in two...
I thought it was hilarious. I didn't exactly expect him to die. =/ Maybe I should have just punched him in the face... But come on? evil kitty in sunshiney fields of daffodils? It really was to be expected. lol.

lolz Reminds me of a couple of stories, though I'll save the second one for a later time.
I had a few friends over for a what was supposed to be a quick game of DnD under the 3.0 rules cause none of us decided to go and buy the 3.5 books yet. Well I break out my lvl 5 paladin, and everyone else starts sorting through there papers to find other characters and we end up with two rogues, three clerics, a sorcerer and a fighter. Bear this in mind to, at the time me and the DM were such close friends we could predict what the other one was thinking before anything was said. Also he was trying to find any way to get my paladins to become evil.
Now comes the interesting part. We're all in town and we all meet up at the church because I was doing my morning prayers. When I reached the doors to the church my character felt a very strong Chaotic Evil presence behind him causing him to turn and draw his weapon. My character was immediately disarmed and appeared before the alter dressed in very nice clothing and a priest in front of him... and her.
Soon my character found himself married to the most beautiful yet most evil creature he had ever met... then the rolls started happening one right after the other, D20 after D20 flew onto the table for 5 minutes straight until I lost a fortitude save. Keeping in mind that no words ever passed between us the rest of the group just stared in awe of us and looked at each other as I leaned back in my chair saying "F**k!" and my friend laughing. What these rolls entailed was this demon chick had whisked us away back to my place for a little post marital ceremony where I found myself completely nude in front of a demon and a nice steaming tub of bath water.
Roll after roll was thrown without either of us talking because I knew that the DM was going to try and tempt my character with flesh. It was strength check after strength check after contested strength check to try and break free from her grasp. I succeeded in making the first fort save which was after 20 or so rolls but failed my second one meaning that I didn't have the stamina to continue
The DM thought he had me but I pulled my pocket ace and started talking to the demon about Heironious and my faith in him and that if we were going to be together, wedded under his wise and watchful gaze then she would have to renounce her ways and accept Heironious as her patron god from now on, otherwise he would nulify the marriage and pray for weeks until he was sure that his god forgave him. I lost a good table that night not to mention 25 bucks in pizza because I had yet again thwarted him.

Sephra blinks his eyes open as he realizes how longhe'd been asleep. He jumps out of his bed, and jumps onto the computer, quickly finding his way to the dead guild he was a part of so long ago. There he found that the leader had added another crew member, and that there were actually some recent posts. He was thrilled beyond belief, and decided that he would give Gaia another try, since it'd been months upon months since he's posted.
"He guys. It's been a while."
