Kaleb huffed and crossed his arms, but it didn't take long for his concern to overwhelm his irritation and he had to glance over his shoulder with the most miserable worried expression on his face. He didn't say anything though, trying to convince Riley of anything right now felt like banging his head against a brick wall.

When Kaleb looked Riley had been in the process of shuffling out of his pants. Today probably hadn't been the best day to wear bright pink underwear but he didn't think he'd be sick and have to be carried home.

It would have been impossible for Kaleb to miss the underwear, even with such a quick glance backwards. His cheeks went red and he quickly snapped his head back around, trying to pretend he hadn't seen. He never would have guessed Riley wore underwear in that colour...

After a bit of squirming and huffing he managed to get his pj's on. He then preceded to bury his face against his pillows. He wasn't moving for a week

Kaleb waited until he was sure his blush wasn't so bad before turning around again. He figured it was safe since he had heard Riley stop shifting around, but his partner wouldn't have noticed anyway with his head stuck in the pillow. He sighed a bit and tugged the covers out from underneith Riley with the help of his magic, then laid them over him so he wouldn't get too cold. He knew Riley liked to be warm when he slept.
Then he left the room without a word to get his partner something to drink.

As soon as the covers were over him he snuggled into them and fell asleep. Without his infusion he was feeling tired and his mind wanted to shut down without asking him.

Kaleb returned with a glass of water and a worried expression, but when he saw Riley was asleep he just set the glass down next to Riley's alarm clock. He managed to find his partner's phone, and set that next to the alarm clock as well with a handwritten note for Riley give him a call anytime if he needed anything at all. It would probably be best for him to leave, but he worried too much, and couldn't resist pressing one hand to his partner's forehead just to be sure he wasn't running a fever or anything.

He wasn't any hotter than he should have been after being buried in blankets but when Kaleb's hand touched him he leaned into the touches.

Kaleb noticed the movement and paused before pulling back his hand. With a little miserable sigh he ran a thumb along his partner's cheek before reaching over to rub his ears a bit. He couldn't help it, he knew Riley liked that, and it also soothed his own helpless feelings. At least the petting was something.

He purred as Kaleb rubbed his ears and shifted slightly. That made him feel better even if he wasn't conscientiously paying attention to it.

The purring made Kaleb smile a bit, and he sat down on the edge of the bed so he could keep doing it. When his hand got tired, he shifted a bit so he could rub Riley's ear with his other hand.

He just kept purring as he slept. He'd end up back in the labs come morning but at least he could sleep comfortable for the moment. His tail wagged under the sheets quickly before he stilled again.

Eventually Kaleb had to switch hands again, and he really knew he should just let Riley sleep and get something to eat. He was missing his own dinner by that point. The little mage couldn't bear to get up though, he hadn't felt so helpless since Demyx's transformation, and if he could at least bring his partner some comfort he wouldn't hesitate to do so. He worried so much though, Riley was too strong to be hit so hard by anything that wasn't serious.

Eventually he reached up and wrapped an arm around Kaleb to pull the mage down onto the bed with him. His partner was warm and he wanted warm.
