Who would agree with me that "Wulfgar would continue to sit there quietly even after the bartender had asked him..." would be better as "Wulfgar continued to sit there quietly even after the bartender asked him..."

I also prefer the second sentence. The word "would" bothers me, in general, unless used to speculate someone elses actions and give multiple outcomes based on them....

If he's refering to whom I think, that'd be Wulfgar the Barbarian from the Forgotten Realms D&D universe, companion of Drizzt Do'Urden as seen in development in The Icewind Dale trilogy.

Tac wrote on the front page (or was it on the FAQs?) that betting gold on a fight is fully supported. Mostly because it encourages long fights.

Actually, it was Dark Lord Diez that put that into effect, and I just left it in effect because I see no harm in the option. I will note, however, that TGC will not be held financially responsible in any way, no matter what happens, even if God comes down and says "THEY WILL PAY...to cover the bet" ...or...something >.>

The name came from The Forgotten Realms series, my bro is using the first name for his char and that is his sentence for rping. I mean would just sounds soooo wrong to me. He argues that you should rp in future tense, which makes 0 sense to me... And I want to read the Icewindell (SP?) trilogy but my bro is reading it. He has collectors edition, 1 book with all 3 books in it. I just read the first 3 books in the FR series, and I am 80% sure that the Ice Trilogy is next in the line, and I am almost done with my Bartimaeus trilogy first book, and need to buy another copy of The Interview With A Vampire since a kid puked on my hoody which had it in it and the cleaning people at the school threw it away, and now the school is paying for new book and hoody! smile Heh, I read too many books at once. sweatdrop

Deity only uses gold involving battle when it's used as prize money in a tournament. He's giving away twenty-something-thousand gold to the winners of his current one...which should actually be starting soon now. =O

Normally I suppose betting on gold during a fight would be hilarious, especially to some of us who have seen alot of different styles of technique and magic, and certain kind of abilities. Though I won't lie in all honesty there are alot of up and comming gaia fighters. Some which may run us "old" rpers out of business. sweatdrop
Dummy terms? Don't bet gold against someone who you may not be sure you can beat. xp
