Vegetarians are brave, I don't know how they do it. Then again I'm so used to processed junk that I can't stand the taste of "real" food in general, so that probably kills off some of my options.

Just the concept is retarded, so let's have a thread to rant about it.

You Rule Supreme The concept? If you can live without killing things isn't that a good concept then? We are made to kill things, hence we are omnivores (just look at our teeth) Meat gives us protein our body needs. The only other thing we can get adequate protein from is eggs, not nuts. Nuts give us natural fat, not protien.

Killing things we made, to be killed. It's not even a matter of killing, it's a matter of survival. Eating.

Veelah Killing things we made, to be killed. It's not even a matter of killing, it's a matter of survival. Eating. And a matter of keeping the animal population level. No eating meat = more herbivores eating grass = less grass for smaller animals = ******** up food chain.

LadyInWhite If we're gonna talk about ******** up the food chain I'd talk about overpopulation in certain areas. crying Like China for instance? But they have solved their problem. Aside from only being allowed to have one child, they just ship the other people to Canada where they breed like rabbits. Problem solved.

Veelah Euh, yeah. Right. Same to you. Okay, TD, make a post about vegetarianism. Please, please, pretty please. =P I've noticed I really do make an extraordinary number of threads. Tomorrow, after my Bio exam I'll go see what I can dig up on veganism and vegetarianism (889 posts FTW. I'm so inactive)

You're ignoring my point, if people don't want to kill things and they're not killing things then what's wrong with the concept? You guys don't even sound willing to consider moderation.
And how did we become made to eat processed stuff that isn't even real food? By the standards you hold vegetarians to you guys all need to stop eating garbage and everyone should all eat the same stuff that humans were designed to consume.

You Rule Supreme The concept? If you can live without killing things isn't that a good concept then? You're still killing when you eat vegetables. You kill bacteria when you bathe. You're killing in almost all daily activities. It isn't possible to live and NOT kill.

By the standards you hold vegetarians to you guys all need to stop eating garbage and everyone should all eat the same stuff that humans were designed to consume. Garbage? I only ever eat things that are good for you. It isn't like anyone who eats meat is a carnivore who devours an entire chicken when dinner comes along.
Designed to consume? Do I really need to tell you how humans evolved? Ever heard of Darwin? Humans didn't one day decide to eat meat, and from there on in, we always did. Just like we evolved from smaller mammals (ruling out creationism) what we consumed has also evolved. Now, just because we have the conscience to argue that it might be wrong to eat animals, we have to start changing the way things have been done for the past 30,000 years. Ok, real smart. Unless you are a God, you don't know what we are 'designed' to do, we ourselves choose what we do.
And that is why it is me eating meat, and not someone eating me. Because I have reason, and reason tells me, I wouldn't mind some chicken wings.

Quote: You're still killing when you eat vegetables. You kill bacteria when you bathe. You're killing in almost all daily activities. It isn't possible to live and NOT kill. Okay, so I'll kill whatever I want however I want then. Thanks for being SO understanding. Quote: Garbage? I only ever eat things that are good for you. It isn't like anyone who eats meat is a carnivore who devours an entire chicken when dinner comes along. You implied something like humans are designed to be carnivores so vegetarians are retarded. By garbage I was referring to how for example let's say tomatoes we buy in the supermarket aren't exactly natural, there's additives and crazy packaging for many things including a lot of meats. Quaker oatmeal and ice cream could just be insane I suppose. Anyway, the point here is I doubt humans were designed to eat this stuff so therefore they are retarded. The examples I'm seeing here are generally assuming that the only way to keep the food chain from going out of control and being the end of civilization is to kill and eat as much as we can, the examples seem to be assuming that there are no possible alternatives and that considering moderation is insane. I'm not going to explain why I disagree with this. I'm on break from posting in guilds for now so there's no real point in replying to my babbling.
