Amethyst eyes widened. "We're...we're free?"
Kun Yi prodded him softly with a paw. "Come, see if you can't at least crawl to the pond. Your wounds need to be washed out." She looked over the selection of water plants.
Several were selected and ground down with the use of teeth and rocks. Some was set onto a seperate leaf and carried to Ling. "Here, this will help with the pain and help your wounds heal." She hesitated, glancing back at her King. "Thank you..."
The teen was back at her mates side. "I'll drag you if I have to."

The King limped into the cave. Looking at each of his family in turn. He smiled at Meribelle, one of the new cubs that he had not gotten the privalege of meeting. He lightly brushed against Leanna, in an affectionate greeting. He knew he had been neglecting his pride, and that pained him. He moved to an area right behind the enterance of the cave and started to lick his wounds. "forgive me...I only fought for you all...my family." He made certain that his eyes met everyone that was there. He could feel the tension leaving the cave, but there was still alot of unspoken fear.
Edit: Ling looked ot Kun Yi, his eyes tired, but thankful. "Thank you, Kun Yi." He sighed and lowered his head to his paws. "Thank you very much..."

He took a deep breath, rolling from his back to his stomach. It was a slow process, and ended up leaving more blood in the grass and more grass in the blood and wounds on his side. "Let's see what happens..." He pushed himself up, shoulders aching immensly. Silently, he wondered if Ling had succeeded in breaking the bone of his back leg. No weight could be rested upon it, so he worked to hold it above the ground as they traveled to the pond, "I think I'm okay..." he groaned, collapsing exhausted at the pond's side.
The reflection that looked back at the forest king was unkind to his features, showing the many injuries Ling has inflicted upon him. He was afraid to look at his leg, fearing it would be mangled beyond repair, even though he could tell it at least had proper shape.

Meribelle greeted Ling with a hello as he entered the cave, before dounding back over to her prior sleeping spot to lay down again. Her tail flopped from side to side. She had slept well, and despite the mornings events, she was in good spirits, that would hopefully catch on, and make the other weary pride members happy aswell. It was the least she could do, to help lighten the mood.

The dragon lioness followed the large male, ready to be at his side should he show signs of collapsing. Once he reached the pond bank she pulled the ground herbs close and slipped into the water. The large, awkward paws used the clear water to wash the blood from the scratches and bite wounds.
A liberal amount of the salve was applied to his wounded leg. She nuzzled and purred to him as she worked, repeating the process to all of his injuries. More plants were torn up to be used, and she hoped that what little knowledge she had gained exploring and experimenting would prove useful here.
The scent of blood drove Blaze from Leanna's protective circle. Pink eyes landed on the King and the small cub made her way to the lion. She sat down not too far away, studying him. There was no malice, just curiousity.

Shaitani purred in response. The herbs felt refreshing on his wounds, dulling the pain greatly. He thanked her quietly, smiling all the while.

Ling looked at the small kitten that was near him. He smiled and sighed, nodding to her for a moment before licking his wounds again. He patted the ground next to him, with a smile. "Hello little one...I do not think that we have yet met..."

Maribelle got up and padded over to Ling, "nope, we havent" SHe said with a happy smile, "The nice Leanna found me. You're Ling, right? I'm Meribelle" She nodded, and sat in front of Ling. She was in a rather talkative mood, obviously.

Xia glared at Kun yi and hissed at her as she offered Ling herbs..That meanie, that was her job. The pregnant lion glared at Shiatani and Kun yi. "You both don't deserve Ling, I feel sorry for your pride, for Shiatani and for your cubs which you will probably eat, Kun yi." She said bitterly to them with a mood swing obviously. With that said, she padded over to Ling and started to lick some of his wounds. "Are you okay, love?"
((this is Xia, not me, no matter what you guys think. ))

Shaitani would have retallialted at Xia's comment, but couldn't muster up the energy. "Kun Yi, we are lucky to have a place for the night. Let's just leave it be," he whispered, smiling a little.

The red lioness was taken aback by the Queen's words. "All I was doing was helping..." The thought that it might be a mood swing didn't enter her mind. She decided to ignore the comment about cubs though it was rather hard to do so.
The teen curled up against her mates side and purred.
The black liger watched Meribelle move to talk to the King. She only shrugged and went back to Leanna.

He nuzzled her, purring as well.
It mad him depressed to think that this would be his last night in the cave. This had been the only real home he had known, since his father's pride made him feel like a foreigner. Now he was leaving and returning to the forest, right near where his father's pride had been.
He would have to say good bye to all of his brothers and sisters, and though they were not related by blood, they were the only "family" he had ever had that didn't push him aside.
The forest king let out a sigh, looking back ot his reflection in the water. His original magestic look was gone at the moment, tainted by wounds and blood.

Ling sighed at his queen's outburst, but said nothing. She was a strong willed female, and shouting at her would do little to nothing to change that mood. He rolled to his side as she licked at his wounds, his eyes on the two small cubs, one of them retreating from him. "Little one, do not walk away, please..." He smiled after the little liger and then looked to Meribelle. "Yes, I'm Ling. This lovely lady behind me is your queen...Xia." He lightly flicked his tail along Xia's side. His eyes flicked again to the liger. "Please, come talk with us little one..."

Akira stood from his spot next to Nola and quietly slipped away to the edge of the cave,from there he could see shaitani and his mate purring calmly with each other. He smiled 'i'll miss you Shaitani..' he said quietly to himself, even though they had not had much contact, shaitani was one of the first to speak with him when he joined the pride and ever since he had felt some sort of small bond with the red and black male. he looked at shaitani,pround to have grown up, or almost grown up with such a great warrior

Leanna picked Blaze back up and brought her back over to Ling. The den mother slightly licked the black liger on the head then nudged Meribelle. "Ling..." She began softly. "We..thank you for fighting for us...I know...I may not seem like it...I am very thankful for this family. You gave me a new life...my old one was dead..this one is better..and...I thank you for it." Leanna bowed low toward her King then nudged at Blaze. "Go on, little one. King Ling wishes to speak with you..." She smiled encouragingly at the cub then looked over at Meribelle who was already talking up a storm with the panda lion. Slowly, Leanna stepped over toward Xia. "Umm..Queen..do you desire any help tending to the King's wounds?" The lioness was really worried about her King and wished to help in anyway possible.
