i'm listening to ivan coyote's cd of stories, "You're A Nation." well, it's under "One Trick Rodeo" instead of ivan coyote, but that means ivan and a backup band. anyway. right now is "The Only Two Smokers." i like stories. i like how it works the same way as when i'm listening to songs, and i memorize snatches of them, same intonation, same pauses. i'd seem creepy if it wasn't the same with music. maybe i seem creepy anyway.

Manchester Orchestra --- ALL of their songs.
Geez....I haven't heard such a good band in quite a while. Every band nowadays merely fill the void of silence in a car. But these guys are so amazing...it's like every lyric, every song, every sound --- Andy Hall makes it beautiful and meaningful.
I'd have to say that "I Can Feel a Hot One" is their best song. Their most popular song right now is "I've Got Friends" and probably "Shake It Out."
I need both of their CDs. I can't believe it took me so long to hear this band...

Thank you Ryo. Good memories there, man. Heh
Got Manchester Orchestra CD in the mail on the 31st. Omg. It is AMAZING! I'm loving this band more and more. The Only One and Pride are my new favorites.
But, man, "I Can Feel a Hot One" has got to be the best song ever for me. Gotta be up there with Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years" and Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss". Man, is it that great? Totally.

Geez, 10 months? Really? So, I turned to a movie that was just ending (kinda wish I saw it now). At the end credits was this song called "Alexa Knows" by the Cartographers. xI just love how it's so haunting. Perfect for Halloween.

I tend to go for alternative music (but I like lots of music)..
However, I just got a new cd (well it's a year old.. but new for me 8D) Lungs by Florence and the Machine ...it's some rather funky music with drums (I believe I hear some bongos in there but not sure), a harp (so pretty and friggin' awesome) and bells/ that thing that's like a clave with bells attached on the outside and you shake it like a maraca (I forgot the name of it ; wink

Pretty much everything Jimi Hendrix every made. Best of all, I justified it as a research expense. Sometimes I love grad school.

I've been listening to a lot of chiptunes lately. Anything by FantomenK or Smiletron particularly.
Taking A Nap In The Jungle is my current track, and if anyone wants to check out something by Smiletron (on the same site) I recommend Ophelia.
ZAZI also does some amazing ambient tracks. J. Arthur Keenes sounds a lot like They Might Be Giants, but chiptuned and... different-ish.
