((Baltazaar.
Go ahead. Use the Search function. I am proud of my posts, and no, I have not ever been a n00b of the kind I despise. I did not use the Internet until eighth grade. I never use shorthand (ex: n e ways, c u l8r, *action*) or l33t (ex: pwn, b4k4) where it is not appropriate, and absolutely not in a post.
I realize that I am not the same as many, who do grow as writers through experiences such as these. But my complaint is that I did not sign up for this. When I joined this guild, I knew my own shortcomings in that I have little patience with non-literate RPers. I joined in order to enjoy RPing with other writers around my level. When I am too exasperated by an RP to enjoy it, I know that I should leave.
As for the writing and spelling errors... to me, RPing is a serious and beautiful thing, where many people can create a story between them. Making a few spelling errors is all right - no one's perfect. Making serious grammar and spelling errors and worse, not trying to fix them, makes me believe that the writer is not serious about the RP and does not show it nor their fellow writers proper respect. It also makes them seem stupid, even if they are not, and diminishes the quality of their writing. Yes, I know the argument of "RPing is supposed to be fun." If you are pissing off your fellow RPers by not being legible, there is no fun for anyone.
I take issue with the 'fresh ideas'. Some of the character ideas were interesting, and some people did indeed write fascinating and detailed posts. But they were few and far between. With the disappearance of the GM, no one really knew what to do (and if the GM is reading this, I know that you are busy, but I urge you to put this thread on hiatus if you cannot provide support and guidance. With no 'official' storyline beyond when you disappeared, the thread has devolved into chaos and you are losing RPers.), and so most people concocted random meetings, fights, displays of power, and so on. I have not seen a conversation that is not either an introduction or a show of one-upmanship or both. The 'bodies-in-a-freezer' idea was old before the legend of Bluebeard's wives. The characters themselves show some evidence of orginality, but even then I am hard-pressed to find one (including my own) without some degree of Mary-Sue or godmodding. Halfbreeds, angels, dragons, powerful psychos - all are standard stock.
Good examples only work if the others pay attention to them, and how can you guarantee that without being rude or arrogant? Saying - as you did - "look at me, I'm so great, I have a spellchecker and a character with (gasp) weaknesses"?
I can't stay here. If I did, I would get more and more resentful of RPing with people I do not respect. And as a personal note:
Baltazaar: If you wish me to respect you, you might try writing a sentence with more than one word legible through the blanked-out curse words. If I am correct in the series you modeled your dwarf after, even they do not curse so much.
ENNEN: You are the example because you post most often without correcting your abundant spelling errors and because you actually stated that you were writing with a Wii. Nothing more. I could point out others just as bad.
Those who have left: Coincidentally, you were the ones that I had picked out as some of the more skilled RPers. Good luck.
With this message, I will leave the RP and not post again nor look at the thread until the GM returns and kicks me out. Goodbye. Have fun with the remainder of the Academy.))

Ennen, she means 8th grade of school.
You do not use the system of grades or years in your school?
confused

@Kittengrl: You seem to get that stick shoved into your a** deeper and deeper by the minute. and I even wonder if that stick has another stick shoved into its a** aswell. You say that RPing isnt fun if fellow RPers are ruining it, yet look who's the one causing /most/ of the distress in this thread. Yes Kitten, you may be an intermediate roleplayer, but for those who have started out before 8th grade (and even after, sometimes) RPing is just a fun way to interact with other people. I do admit, I've gotten annoyed at past post's illiteracy, but I did not make a fuss about it, as I remember when I was just the same. This RP has well died and I doubt that it will continue, unless anyone else here somehow keeps it alive. Kitten, I sometimes get the feeling that you should STFU.
