A lot of artists charge a lot. :[
That looks great though. I'd pay up to 50K for that, personally... but I'd probably charge 30K if I were drawing it. [Which is why I do my own art - I'm much cheaper. ;3]

I TOLD Chocokat it was a ripoff. D: She's the one that paid for it and is saying I owe her 100k, but I didn't want art from that artist in the first place - I really wanted to ask you or something, but no.
Ugh. I don't have the gold to pay her for it, but I feel bad not doing anything because she sold her pendant to pay the girl. Gaaah.

200k sounds about right given the ridiculously inflated art prices these days. It's why I refuse to actually BUY any.
But if you told her not to buy it, I don't see where you owe her anything.

I collect surplus souls so I can trade them off for favors later.
And 200k is way too much. I generally think 20-40k is a good general price for good art, but then again I usually don't comission art because I really can't pay for it.
Edit: I agree with Pyre, I don't really see where you owe her anything if you didn't want to go to that artist.

I start thinking that, too, Pyre, but then I feel bad.
Admittedly, it was her idea to get art of us, and she went ahead and asked that artist for it without getting my opinion - I mean, I'd looked at the girl's DA page but had said that I didn't exactly care for her style, and I had no idea what the price range was 'cause Chocokat didn't tell me until after it'd been drawn. And I was pretty pissed off then, too.
But yeah, I signed on this morning and this was in my inbox:Chocokat I gave up my angelic pendant to pay off that art! Now you owe me 100k. XD
ARGH. Damn guilty conscience!
Edit: Yeah! That's about the price range I was thinking when she suggested we get art.

Ick. That IS a ripoff. t___t I mean, it looks GREAT, and I can understand 100K - but 200K is a lot. I think artists usually raise or lower their prices to control the amount of requests they get. And once they find a balance they like, they stick to the price they've set. I don't take requests because I'm always very cheap - so I usually feel bitter/overwhelmed by the commission I'm taking, for the price I'm taking it at. Example. A year ago, 900 gold could get you this from me:  Yet, people STILL acted impatient and unappreciative of what a deal they were getting. gonk You know what though Pasta, it's your birthday - so, er, you just hold tight there for half an hour or so. xD [shifty eyes]

And yeah, I'd be ecstatic if I saw someone selling art like that for 900g.
But knowing my luck, it'd be right after I'd bought something and was flat broke. ;D

I didn't think about that - it is a possibility, but I'm not too sure.
