Damien went next to Salivia and reached for some books before he handed them to her. He knew very well, were everything was, because Salivia forced him to reorder them once in a while. He did everything she told him without talking back, but he wasn’t smiling or behaving like a real servant.

“Oh, thank you.” Salivia set the books down on a desk in the room and looked back at the vampire. “I’ll be going out tonight. You should come with me and drink something, but I already know, you will say no again, won’t you? I won’t force you this time, but if you don’t drink something soon, you will only get weaker.”

Damien didn’t care. He hadn’t drunken any human blood since then. But it was hard to get animal blood and she was right, he was already feeling weak again. She wouldn’t allow him to hunt for an animal, when she was around, but he wasn’t allowed to get outside alone on his own. He used the small opportunities, when he had to do some errands for her. “I still have to do something. So I won’t come with you tonight.”

Willkin went to their little home and brought one of the dead rabbits to Elizabeth while Jack was still talking to his son telling him, how they had managed to get the fast little animals. He was sure, that Jack would bring the boy with them in a few months. He still couldn’t say no to the boy, when he was asking him for something. Willkin was chuckling after the thought. Somehow he was glad, he still wasn’t a father. After the things happening a few years ago, he was still a little worried for Elizabeth. And he didn’t want to worry for somebody else as well. Although there hadn’t shown up any demons again. Xavier had been gone after Rosalie had been talking to him. He had taken the other demon with him. Perhaps he was still searching for his brother. The demon seemed to have the wish to find out more about the things happening hundreds of years ago. So Rosalie had told them. She had been gone as well, when Diane decided to keep on searching for Damien. They had been coming around a few times since then, but never had come with good news. Willkin felt sorry for Diane. She still seemed desperate in her heart and couldn’t get any peace.

“Elizabeth, my darling. Jack and I came just back from the hunt. The other one will be for Kathrina. Jack is still holding a small one of them, we couldn’t let live on his own. The kids should already gather around him. Perhaps you want to pet its fur as well and join them later.” He wanted to distract her a little from their price. She didn’t like to see the dead animals he brought home. But she knew, that he had to kill one of them once in a while. The ground around here was just not that good, to grow a lot of plants.

Rosaline watched Diane silently as the young woman ate her food ever so slowly. It was almost the same thing everyday for the past several years. They traveled, searching for Damien only stopping to eat and sleep when they need arose. She knew that Diane felt lost, not knowing what had happened to Damien. It was even worse that her vision had failed her in that record. Of course she had, had visions in the last few years, but nothing concerning Damien. All Rosaline could see or feel was Diane's pain and anguish.

Diane looked up at her companion as she finished the last of her food. Rosaline had been a great help over the last few years, traveling with her, teaching her how to fight. She wasn't the same person she was when she first met Damien. Diane had allowed her hair to grow longer and now she was just a skinny little thing. Her figure was still trim, but since she had been traveling and learning how to defend herself, she had grown muscles and had become much stronger.

"You know," she finally said softly, "you don't have to stay with me if you don not want to Rosaline. You have taught me a lot. I know how to fight, how to find my own food. I can take care of myself."

Rosaline chuckled softly as she shook her head. And this converstion never failed to come at least once a week. "I know that Diane, but I am staying. I am going to help you find Damien. I know what it is like to lose the one that you love, and I dont' want you to stay in that pain forever."

Diane's cheeks flushed as she looked down at her plate. She pushed her chair away from the table as she stood up. "We had better continue on."

Rosaline nodded as she too stood up, leaving some money on the table for their food. "You know Diane---it has been a couple of years...we should go and see Willkin and Elizabeth perhaps. I know that you miss them too, and I am sure they miss you."

Diane stopped for a moment before glancing over her shoulder at Rosaline. "Perhaps you are right. I cannot blame them for being happy. They had both been through so much before they found each other."

Elizabeth turned around when Willkin spoke, a smile upon her face. Her head tilted to the side slightly as she listened to him. "Well you are back sooner than I expected," she said as she made her way to him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "I was just beginning to make you something to eat. I thought you might be hungry after being out with Jack most of the morning."

She knew that he was trying to distract her from the dead animal he had brought home by suggesting she go see the one that Jack had brought back with them, alive---and she loved him all the more. "Perhaps I will go and see it after I am done fixing your food." Elizabeth smiled up at him, her face seemingly glowing.

Ivan finally reached the lumberjack village and he looked around slowly. It was small, very small. There couldn't be more than a hundered or so people living here. He only wondered where he needed to go to find a place to stay for a little while so he could catch up on his rest. His head turned to the side as he heard a commotion. He caught sight of a group of kids surrounding an older man, chattering excitedly. Ivan hoisted his bag on his shoulder and made his way silently over to the group.

Ivan was a bit taller than the others there as he looked over their shoulders and saw the small animal that the man was holding. It was sitting there, staring with wide eyes. It seemed a bit tense, but it seemed to be getting used to the attention already. He just continued to watch silently, waiting until someone noticed him.

"I can do the rest for you." Willkin looked around. "It seems I just have to keep on watching and stiring it a little so the food doesn't burn. You have already done lot of work in the house and deserve a little break." He smiled and then gave her a little kiss on the cheek." And then he took the spoon out of her hand.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jack gave the rabbit to his daughter and went to Kathrina, who had already be gone outside to great them. "Another animal you promise to take care of." She winked and gave him a smile. She looked in another direktion when their dog barked. "Oh, there's someone from outsidd the village. Perhaps you should grat him and ask about his business. He doesn't look like someone, who wants to trade wood with us. I'll get the children inside soon for dinner. It's almost time." She called for Eric and the others.
((I like them. As long as Ivan and the others on't get too strong again. And he shouldn't tell them about the vampires at first glance. ))
((no they won't, and I hadn't planned on Ivan telling them right away....maybe Xavier can go see Shiloh again? And maybe soon she can see why Anna was killed and who killed her?))
Elizabeth chuckled as Willkin took the spoon from her. "Well if you insist Will." She rested her hand briefly on his arm before heading towards the door. "I will be back soon Willkin. Just keep stirring that so it doesn't ruin okay?" She blew him a kiss as she left their little home and went to where the kids were all gathered around, admiring the rabbit. "It's cute, isn't it?"
Johnny looked down at Elizabeth, grinning. In the five years since they had met he had grown very tall and a lot more talkative. He still had a bit of a crush on her, but he knew that she and Willkin were deeply in love. "Yeah, it's cute I guess." He gave a small shrug.
"Hey Elizabeth," Lyssa said with a laugh as the other kids began to disperse and she and Eric came up to them. "Daddy brought us another pet. He said it was so cute and he thought of us, and maybe we would want to take care of it."
"Can I hold it?" Eric asked as he looked up at his sister. "Please Lyssa?" He grinned happily when she handed the rabbit over. "Yay!" He ran his hand over the rabbits head just as their mother called for them. "Mommy is calling. See you later Elizabeth!" He turned and hurried towards his mother, the rabbit still held carefully in his hands.
Jack spotted the boy as well and nodded. “I’ll be nice.” When he passed Elizabeth he greated her as well. “Your man is still better at hunting than me. Perhaps he should take my boys in the forest and teach them.” He chuckled. Still Jack had this baritone voice and the gentle eyes, but there were already some grey hairs in his beard. “Did you see our new little guest? The kids always love to take care about a new animal.”
Elizabeth smiled at Jack and nodded. "Yes I did see the little creature. It is adorable, and I am sure they will take good care of it." She chuckled and shook her head. "Will does well everywhere. He all but shooed me from the kitchen when he came home." She brushed her hand through her hair and as her eyes moved around she saw the young man just milling around. He was not from around here. "Looks like we have a stranger."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 02, 2010 7:07 pm
"I've spotted him as well. I just wanted to ask you, if you would great him with me." Jack knew, thyt strangers could get a little scared because of his huge figure. He was tall and had broud shoudlers - although he got a bit thinner the last few years.
Elizabeth smiled and nodded. "Of course I will great him with you." She tucked her arm in Jack's and grinned. He was a sweet, dear man, and she had grown quite fond of him. "Come--let's go and great him before he decides to run off or something." She began to pull him towards the stranger.
Damien had been doing a lot of stuff in the castle the last few days. Salivia hadn’t told him to do so, but he just had to keep himself occupied. The last days had been hell for him. He needed to feed badly and he already could feel his health decreasing. When he reached a certain limit he would feel better for a few month, sometimes even years not many vampires had dared to push themselves this far, but there would be a point, when he would lose the control over his senses and then Salivia could easily bring him where she wanted him to go. She wanted him to drink blood again. And the shame over himself would give her more power over him. He would have to sneak outside soon and get at least some animal blood. This would give him some more time.
Willkin was taking good care of the food. When it was ready and Elizabeth still wasn’t back he put it from the stove and put some water on the fire. Before he went to the window to look for her, he cleaned the kitchen a little and set the table for both of them. If she was taking some time, then she would have her reasons and he thought, that she was still petting a little fur ball or talking to Jack, whose loud dark voice he had heard from outside. He would look after her, when everything was ready here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jack followed Elizabeth, when she tugged on his arm. “It’s ok my lady, I don’t think he’ll go away if we don’t grat him fast enough.” He was looking at the stranger and tried to smile a little, so he wouldn’t be scared. He and his family had allways welcomed people warmly in their village und their was no reason for him to threat this one special. No this boy didn’t seem to be any threat nor did he seem to be evil or something. They had have much more frightening guests these last few years. He stopped right in front of the boy next to him was Elizabeth. “Hallo, how can I help you? I’m a lumberjack of this village, Jack. And this is Elizabeth.”

Ivan looked at the two people in front of him, his head tilted to the side slightly. When the man spoke to him he straightened his stance and held up one finger, indicating him to wait a moment. Ivan swung off his bag and knelt down on the ground as he dug through it. Finally he pulled out some papers and something to write with. He wrote something down quickly and then showed it to the two of them. It read:

"My name is Ivan. I cannot speak ever since I was born. I am just traveling, and trying to find a place to sleep for the next couple of days. I have been wondering for a little over a week now. Are the two of you married?"

"Oh no," Elizabeth said with a chuckle and shake of her head. "Jack is just a good friend of mine. My man is back at the cabin. I just came out here to see about a few things."

Jack gave the paper to Elizabeth. He wasn't good in reading. But he understood, that the boy didn't seem to be able to talk. "Perhaps you should give him something to eat first Elizabeth, before we find out, what we can do for him. I'll be telling Kathrina."

Elizabeth nodded as she folded up the paper. "I agree, you should eat something Ivan. I know that if you have been traveling for a while you must be mighty hungry. My Will and I--we used to travel a lot, and we were always grateful to those who gave us food and such." She smiled at the boy. "Why don't you come with me to my cabin? I'm sure there is plenty of food for the three of us."

Ivan gave a huge smile and nodded. This lady seemed to be really nice. There had been places he had went to where some of the people weren't very nice at all. He supposed that was okay, he was a stranger after all. Some people just didn't trust strangers.

"Unless you want to take him to your place, Jack," Elizabeth said as she looked at the older man. "I know how much Kathrina likes to have guests."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 11, 2010 10:34 pm

"We have enough activity here for one day. The Children are surely still excited because of their new pet. We should give Kathrina just a little break." It was right, she really liked to have guests and Jack didn't mind a little company as well. But his wife wasn't getting younger and sometimes he saw, that she was getting exhausted from all the housework. He would tell the kids another day to help her some more, when she wasn't around listening to their plans. He knew, she was too proud to accept much help. Jack only gave both of them a little greating. Waving his hand over his head. And then turned around to go back to his family. Sure Kathrina would be ready with the meal soon as well. He would prepare the table with the kids.

"Okay, see you later Jack. Tell Kathrina I'll come by soon to see here," Elizabeth said as she watched him walk away. Her gaze went back to Ivan and she smiled at him. "Okay, well let's go and see how Will is getting along with the cooking." She motioned for him to follow her. She hoped that Will was okay with them having a guest. She hadn't known him not to be okay with it before, but maybe he was tired. He had been out all day with Jack after all.

When they reached the cabin Elizabeth entered with Ivan close behind her. He hesitated in the doorway for a moment before going in as well. "Will, we have a guest," she called out.
