Noctria

Note: In this RP vampires can stand the sun.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

In the world of noctria there is a war. A war between lycantrops, vampires and demons. Human kind has become rare, because of their bloodthirst. The vampires have learned to controle their bloodlust. A few of them formed alliances with the human. They protect them from demons and werwolves in return for their blood. Vampires don't have to kill their victims to feed from them. Demons don't have this option. They still have to kill nd eat human flesh. But they restrain their hunger a lot and try to kill less. Werwolves are the unwellcome species. When they are in a murderous frenzy while full moon, they kill everything living. Old werwolves don't change back anymore. The lnger they live as half wolf half human being the less they have human form.

Three hundred years ago a young demon was in love with a human. But their luck shouldn't last long. The human was killed by another nocturnal being and died in the demons arms. He hadn't been able to protect her. Since then the demon swore to kill the one, who took his beloved from him and every other member of his race.
When our story begins, she is living again in another body. The gods gave her a chance to find her soul mate once more. But she doesn't have any memory of her former life.

Rules:
- Please be literate. I understand one or two oneliners, when you have writers block, but this isn't an excuse every time.
- Follow the Gaia TOS. PG 13
- No killing. There can be action and fights. And I really would like some romance.
- No Godmodding. It's annoying.

- And Alede my comp has problems with your sig. Could you put it of for me. *pleading eyes*

Xavier beheaded the other demon and shook his sword, to clean it from the blood. He had been following this one for a while. He had killed a few humans and a lycan, before Xavier had been able to confront him. He didn't care, if anybody was gratefull now. For him counted only his revenge. So when a few people came to thank him, he glared at them. No, he didn't care about anybody now. The people were glad, when he turned round and left the village. They would burn the dead demon soon and forget about the other. They ddn't know, why he had saved them, but in this times you could be gratefull to be alive. It were dangerous times for humans.

When Xandriel reached another village or town, he would ask for other demons. Since Anna was dead, he had been following their tracks. He had even killed his own father a century ago. But for every demon he killed, there seemed to come twice. This fight would never end. And so his steps brought him to a nearby wood. He would have to pass it to get to the next town.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damien was sitting in a tree. He was watching Diane washing her dress in the river. He was protecting this village for a decade or two now. Since he was a vampire, he had stopped counting the years. Diane didn't look at him, she pretended she didn't see him - as allways. He didn't really care, but he was a bit curious. All the other humans seemed to avoid her. The humans avoided him, too. But this was only natural. He was protecting them and they let him feed once or twice a weak. This was teir deal. But why were they fearing this human girl? She was living on her own in a house at the edge of the village. Nobody seemed to talk to her.
Once Damien had heard her telling the other people about one of her visions. She had warned them about a lycan in her cryptic words. Damien had gotten the meaning of her dream and saved the village. He didn't know, if Diane could really foresee the future, but he believed she was a smart woman, although shewas much younger than him with her twenty human years.
Willkin looked at Elizabeth. Her hair was shimmering like gold in the warm light of the sun. He loved to watch her like this, when they traveled from town to town. At the moment they were crossing a forest. From time to time he was paying a bit more atention to the things around tem, so nobody would try to approach them. You had to be carefull these times. "Have you ever been in this forest before?" He asked his companien.
((It's day. You can write what your characters are doing at the moment. And I hope you like Willkin, Alede. Oh and we should make different plots for now. It would be a bit awkward, if every one meets each other at the beginning. Does anyone want one of the characters above? I love Willkin. Haven't decided yet, if I want to keep him for myself.))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Amachahl's eyes wandered over the cliffs. He had been crossing the large Alandriel Mountains for a three days now. They seperated the Lower Plains of Noctria from the Cassadian Falls and Galandrian Forests. This landscape wasn't very friendly. You hardly found any food. Only a few unlucky animals were crossing his path here and there. He didn't even remeber his last proper meal. It was getting colder the higher he got, on some of the hilltops was snow and it was rather windy.
Amachahl didn't have to worry about the cold or the mountain sickness, he was a demon after all and the wheather couldn't really harm him. But he had to be carefull not to fall down in one of the crevices. Amachahl stood up again, he wouldhave to travel to more days, he guessed, until he reahed the Galandrian Forests. He was searching for a village near the Cassadian Falls. Not only because he wanted to taste human flesh again, no he had some more plans.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2009 3:56 pm

Elizabeth was sitting on the ground, her legs tucked underneath her as she and Willkin decided to take a rest from their traveling. Her hands reached forward and touched several flowers gently before she heard him speak. Looking over her shoulder, Elizabeth smiled at him as she took in her companions appearance.

Dark clothes, multicolored hair and dark watchful eyes. Elizabeth had met him a couple of years ago when she had gone out for a walk. She hadn't realized how far she had walked, or how late it had become when she was suddenly confronted by a demon. As was with her nature, and she couldn't explain it, she hadn't feared the demon and that night it almost cost her, her life. If Will hadn't shown up, then she wold very well be dead now.

"Actually I haven't been in this forest before," Elizabeth said. Her voice soft, almost musical. She pushed a strand of hair out of her face. It kept falling out of the clip she had placed it in, and she was about to just say screw it and let all of her hair down. "And you? Have you been in this forest before?"

----

Diane sat by the river's edge, allowing her clothes to float in the water as she held them. Often times she would come out here when she knew nobody else would be around so that she wouldn't have to endure the stares of the other townspeople and hear their little whispers that were never easy to make out, but she knew they were talking about her. They were always talking about her.

She had lived in this town for many years now and still people were a bit scared of her. Sure they let her tend to their sick and help with various other things, but they would never ask her over for supper or just to talk. They only spoke to her when they needed or wanted something. That was okay by her. It meant more time for her to grow more herbs.

Pulling the wet clothes from the river, she hung them over a branch to let them dry out. She let out a small breath as she sat back down now that she was finally down with the clothes. Taking off her shoes she placed her feet in the cool water.

"No, never. But I think we should reach a town soon." With his good senses he realised there were less animals around them and he could already smell the light hint of smoke in the air. There was a week left until the next full moon would rise. Willkin didn't like to let her alone in these nights, but he had to keep away from her, because he feared, he would hurt her, when he changed into a wolf.

"Are you hungry?" Actually he was very hungry. THey didn't have much money, but it would be enough to rent a small room and get something to eat. He didn't mind sleeping outside, but it would be nice for Elizabeth to have a bed again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damien was bored with sitting in the tree. He jumped from the branches and scared some birds, which were flying angry chirping in the air. He couldn't care less. He allways seemed to be a bit blasé - nothing really seemed to worry him. One look of his cold and piercing eyes could scare people away and of course a little glimps of his fangs. At the moment they weren't as long as they could be, when he was drinking from a slender human neck. He had gotten some blood yesterday, a young man had opened his wrist for him. Damian had only once killed a human, when he had been a very young vampire. He hadn't known how to controle his hunger. Since then a lot of time had passed by.
The vampire walked in front of Diane and kneelt down two metres away from her reaching his hands for the could water and pushing some of it in his face to wake him up a bit. He had become a bit tired from sitting in the tree and watching the village.
((It's a map! *joy*))
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:38 pm
"Well then," Elizabeth said with a light tilt of laughter in her voice, "It's a new experience for the both of us. I'd rather share it with you than anyone else." She smiled at Willkin. "You're my best friend and who else to have on an adventure with you than your best friend?"
Reaching up she pulled the clip out of her hair allowing the long red tresses to fall over her shoulders. She was getting tired of it falling out and then having to push it back, so why bother anymore? Might as well just leave it down. She brushed a hand through her hair so it didn't look half as bad.
She gave Will a nod. "Yes, I am a bit hungry." Stretching her arms above her head she gave a small yawn. "Why don't we continue on so we can reach the town and get something to eat?"
-----
Diane didn't move as the birds squawked and flew away. She stared at the river, flowing freely down its path. As Damien knelt in front of her and scooped some water into his hands before splashing onto his face, her gaze flickered over to him.
Damien had protected this village for as long as she could remember, and in return, the townspeople allowed him to drink their blood. He had never, ever killed a single villager, so everything worked out fine.
She let out another deep breath as her gaze turned back to the water. Her feet moved slowly through the river, causing ripples to go out across the surface.
((was thinking she can help mend clothes and help with other things around people's homes...she is a kind and caring person after all))
Willkin looked away, when she mentioned the part about best friends. He blushed a little, because he really liked her. Her laugter sounded like from an angels voice. "I really enjoy travelling with you, too." He said with a low voice. The blush slowly faded from his cheeks and he was able to lok up again. Will never had told Elizabeth how much he liked her.
And then she opened her hair and her long red locks were floating down hiding her nice slender neck and covering her shoulders. Yes, her hair really sparkled a little in the sun and for him she looked much prettier then the flowers around them. He had been watching her putting the straps back for a while and she had looked really sweet, when she frowned a little, because they didn't seem to want to stay in place.
"If we go on like this, we will reach the town before sunset." He didn't want to stay in the forests in the night, so they really should be going on now. "If you are tired, I could carry your bag for a while. Mine isn't very heavy." Although he was already carrying his things, he wouldn't mind to pick hers up, too. He really liked to help her a little here and there. Normally he wasn't that caring about others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Damien looked up from the river again, when he heard slender feet deviding the water in front of him. Diane was walking through the water. The stream of the river wasn't very strong here, so she wouldn't be drifted away, but the water could sometimes be deeper then it seemed to be and so he gave her a short warning. "You shouldn't stay to long in the cold water, sometimes there can be tricky shallows." He watched her closely, if she would trip, he would get her out of the water faster than any human could do.
Only a few fish were at this part of the river. They knew, humans were living here and didn't want to get cought by any fisherman. The people here were living rather rural here. They were ordinary people like the blacksmith, a few farmers, a priest, and there was one little shop, who selled a few things. A normal small village with its own little village gossips. And Damian and Diane were almost allways part of this gossip, because they were the most intresting people here.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:56 pm

Elizabeth shook her head from side to side allowing her hair to finally settle wherever it would. She glanced over at Will to see him looking away from her and when he looked back in her direction, she gave him a small smile. She bent down to pick up her bag, placing it on her shoulders.

"Hmm?" Turning back around her eyes met with his. "Oh no, that's quite alright Will," she gave a small laugh and shrug of her shoulders, "I am not too tired, so I can still carry my things. Thank you for the offer hun." She stood there watching him for a moment.

Will was a really sweet and caring guy, and over the couple of years that they had known each other, she had grown very fond of him. She couldn't imagine not ever knowing him. She knew that the full moon was coming soon, and she kind of dreaded it. Will would go away so that he wouldn't harm her and yet she felt even more unsafe when he wasn't there by her side.

Shaking her head she grinned at Willkin and inclined her head, indicating that she was ready to go. "Come on then," she said. "The faster we get there the faster we can eat and get some rest."

------

Diane stopped and glanced over her shoulder as she heard Damien speak. She smiled slightly before turning her gaze back to the front of her. "I know," she said loud enough so he would hear her. "I have walked in this river many times before." She ran her hands lightly through her hair.

She looked down, watching the fish swim around her feet before darting away. It was funny, it was almost like they recognized her. Maybe it was from her coming into the river on many different occasions and never once trying to catch any of the fish.

Turning around, she made her way back to the shore, stepping onto the dry land lightly. She rolled her shoulders, a slight popping sound coming from her back. "Come out here often," she asked Damien as she went to go and check on her clothes. They were still wet so she sat down next to a tree and watched him.

When Elizabeth refused to let him carry her bag, he only shrugged his shoulders. This had to be some sort of woman's pride, Willkin didn't understand. He really would have liked to do something for her. "I wouldn't have minded, but it's all right." They went on during the forest and soon reached a small lumber village. The sun was slowly beginning to set, when they passed the first little cottages. "I hope, somebody is going to give us a bed and a warm meal. This village doesn't seem to have a tavern." Indeed it was a rather small village. There were only about six houses, which seemed to belong to the lumbers, who were felling the trees and selling the wood to other vilages or towns.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damien watched her coming back and sitting down under the tree. Her dress was still wet, so she would be staying here for a while. "I know, you are experienced with the river. But there is allways a first time to trip and fall into the water. As I said, the shallows can be tricky." And with this words he sat down next to her. Her scent was smelling delicious, but he couldn't drink from her - not today. "And yes, I'm coming often here. As you know, I have to watch the village and usually they are cming from the forest on the other side of the river." He took one more deep breath and savoured her smell.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2009 5:14 pm
Elizabeth walked silently with Willkin through the woods as they made their way to the small town. Her eyes skimmed over the houses as she counted how many there were. One, two, three, four----six---there were six houses.
She looked over to Will as he spoke and nodded. "Yes, I too hope they are kind enough to lend us a bed and a warm meal," she replied. "Even if they don't---I wouldn't mind sleeping outside." A small smile appeared on her face as she watched Will for a moment. "It's nice sometimes to sleep outdoors."
-------
Diane looked over at Damien as he sat down next to her. The back of her head rested against the tree. "It is nice out here, isn't it?" She smiled slightly as she looked away from him towards the river. "It's peaceful, quiet--beautiful." Her hands rested in her lap, folded together. Her eyes closed as she enjoyed the fresh air.
Damien was pretty damned cute in her opinion, but it was unlikely that he would ever return any of the feelings she may have for him if she did indeed to allow herself to have feelings for anyone. She knew guys like him. They didn't care about others, just so long as they got what they wanted.
The lycan nodded. He didn't mind sleeping outside as well. Actually he liked to look at the stars, before he fell asleep, especially when it was new moon. When it was new moon, you could see the shining stars even better. When he looked at the stars he sometimes thought they were the souls of his dead relatives and freinds, who were watching him from above. He loked this thought. It allways calmed him a little.
Willkin went to the middle of the small village, where a lumber was cutting some trunks, they had brought from the wood. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but do you know somebody who could give us shelter for this night and perhaps a something to eat? We can pay." The lumberman looked him all over and the smirked a little. "Can you handle a hatchet?" This was a smaller ax to cut the bigger pieces of wood into proper firewood. "Em, sure..." Will wasn't sure, what the other exected from him, but he had a guess. "You can keep your money. If you cut the wood behind my home, you can sleep under our roof and get a warm meal from my wife. When you have eaten once something from my Kathrina, you never want something else again." The lumberjack seemed to be very proud of his wife, or he really was in love. "Deal." They shaked hands. The the lumberman turned to Elizabeth as well. "I'm Jack. I'll show you my home and you can stay with my wife, until your friend is ready with the firewood."
((If you think you can controlle him and let him sound the same, you can have him for your next post. Oh his wife is really sweet. I already have the picture of a small and a bit chubby woman with gray hair and a bun.))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Damien listened to her words. "Quiet and peacefull?", he asked himself quietly in his mind. Indeed it was quiet, but it was a bit too quiet for his taste. "I don't know. My eyes don't see most bright colors." Yes, vampire had become used to the sun, but their eyes still couldn't really bear it and most vampires didn't see much color. Like at night every color seemed a bit less colorfull and a bit grayish. She really seemed to enjoy it out here, but for Damien it was often a bit boring to sit somewhere and watch over the village.
But this was the deal and he couldn't refuse to do his job. For a vampire protecting a vilage there was no vacation, no weekend and no Sunday. He hardly ever sleep more than a few hours and allway had to be alerted. Although he didn't care about the people here, he took his job damn serious.And as long as he got his blood, he wouldn't complain.

((She found out, how he works ^^))
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2009 5:40 pm

Elizabeth's eyes had been roaming around the small town as she listened to the two men speak. She moved the strap of her bag slightly so that it rested better on top of her shoulder. Her gaze met with the Jack's as he next turned and spoke to her. She gave him a small smile and nod. "Thank you, Sir. I'll do what I can to help your wife in the house so I may earn my keep as well."

"Ah well, you will have to take that up with my wife," Jack said with a wide set grin on his face. "She can be very stubborn. Doesn't even allow me to help her around the house." He handed over a hatchet to Will. "Here is what you'll need, and I'll take your lady friend here to my home." He looked between the two of them. "I didn't catch your names."

"That's Elizabeth and I'm Willkin, but you can call me Will." The lumber gave Elizabeth his big strong hand, too, and shaked hers as well. "Now come, I want you to meet my Kathie."
Will took the small ax from the man and followed him to his house. Behind the lumberman's home was a large stock of wood. "This will take me more then an hour." Will sighed and began to cut the wood. If he used a little of his lycan strenght, he would be finished, when the meal was ready.

In the house Kathrina was already starting to make dinner. She wanted to go outside and get some water from the standpipe in the middle of the village, when the lumber arrived with Elizabeth. "Oh, Frank. I didn't think you would be this early. I'm not ready with the meal." Her voice sounded a bit worried. "Don't worry, Kathie. I'm only bringing you a guest. Elizabeth and her friend will stay at our home today." They could hear noises from behind the house, where Will was already cutting the wood fast. "So you finally found someone to cut the firewood for you, so you wouldn't have to do, as I have asked you to do." His wife didn't seem very pleased with her husbands smart plan. "He wanted to do something for us...Em... I have to get to work now. I'll be back for dinner." Jack was rushing back to work and let Elizabeth alone with his wife. "You can go inside. I'll go and get some water first." The small woman was already holding a big bucket for the water in her hands.

Elizabeth listened with a smile as Jack and his wife spoke. She watched as he walked off before turning back to the other woman. "Are you sure that you do now want any help? I feel bad not doing anything," she said as she pushed her hair behind her ears. She smiled slightly at Kathrina. She shifted slightly from foot to foot, her head tilted slightly to the side.

Diane listened quietly to Damien as he spoke. She turned her head back over to look at him. "So, what made you choose this town?" She asked suddenly. Her dark eyes regarded him slowly, trying to get a read on him. She was usually so good at this, but with him it was so damned hard.

"You can get the water for me. This would be a real help, because the little houseghosts of mine are turning already everything upside down." Kathrina handed Elizabeth the bucket and went back inside. You could hear her call for her children in a serious tone and then laugher. She really loved her kids, but sometimes they were a bit exhausting.

Will was still behind the house and cutted the wood. After a while he got the clou and it was much easier now. Faster than any human he swayed the small ax and sliced the wood into acurate pieces. Then he took the finished firewood and built stocks. He would be ready, before the sun vanished completly.

((It's crap. I hate my post. stare ))

Damien thought a moment, before he answered her question. Should he really tell her the true. He normally didn't speak much with the people here. Then he shrugged his shoulders and decided, it wouldn't hurt. "My mother used to live here." Of course his family was dead for years now. His father had died fighting a lycan and protecting his family and his mother had died with broken hard in old age. He never had seen them again, after his change, but he had heard some storys.
