I'm planning on starting 'Nids soon, and will be starting off with a Boxed Army. So my starting force would have:
Hive Tyrant 6 Warriors Lictor (special Edition ^^) 16 Gaunts 16 Hormagaunts 8 Genestealers 3 Raveners Zoanthrope
I also have an additional 20 to spend, so i was wondering what you peoples would suggest. My options would be:
Broodlord A 2nd Lictor A 4th Ravener A 2nd Zoanthrope 2 Biovores, or 1 Biovore and a blister of spores
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated ^^

From what I have heard and such, I would probably go with a 4th ravener or a 2nd zoey. Although it might be useful to take a broodlord and attach the stealers to him. But I'm still a nub, so you should prolly wait for someone with experience to give an opinion.

Lictors work best in Hit&Run enviroments, and with a friend to help.

Hello. I'm an Ork player, and I'm going to start using nids. I want to make full use of abilities they have that Orks, dont, and I want to use a well balenced army that can deal with many diffrent threats. Any ideas?

He can infilitrate, isn't a giant creature, works as a synapse creature(no instakill.wound), has quite a few wounds, and is pretty muhc a 'Stealer on 'Roids^-^ That and he is just so spiffy looking^^ The only downside to him is if you do infiltrate he tends to be a fire magent, but with an 11-stealer bodyguard he should at least get there.

lord_illpalazzo Hello. I'm an Ork player, and I'm going to start using nids. Any ideas? hmmm, well balanced - as in not specialized at all? i have a friend who plays the nids and i rarely ever fight a well balenced army! confused usually he'll just go for juggernaut strenght (i.e. lots o' carnifexs and tyrants), super shooty (lots of zanthropes and things with blast template, with a few venom cannons for good measure), or just all out swarm (LOTS of gaunts with genesteallers to take care of high armour saves). come to think of it, i don't think i've ever played a truely balanced tyrnid army, lol.

Ofcourse not. When you can specialize an army to do just about anything, why leave it in a nice balanced mold? Although most of us support atleast some amount of balance, just to be tacticaly sound.

I always thought it wasn't possible to actually have a well-rounded Tyranid army. They can take too many options for that. xd
And as for Chakra's question, I would probably take the second Zoanthrope. It won't eat up another heavy support choice (I think they were heavy support, and I'm certain they were 2 for 1 slot), and it'll give you plenty of heavy-duty firepower.

Does anyone find genestealers useful? I used them against Tau the other day and even with extended carapace they got killed before they could reach combat. For the 400 points I spent on them I could've gotten another carnifex, some tyrand guard and some more gaunts, and this could've helped me win.
