"Ok! What do you tink the decorations will be this year? Last year was live bats wasn't it?" Jackson asked as they walked down to the Great Hall.

Leigh nodded, shuddering slightly. "And they all came and flew around towards the end, because they were getting restless. And remember, Professor Trenny had us all Stupefy the bats?" she asked, smiling in spite of herself.

"Yeah" Jackson smiled he remembered the ocassion only too well he had if fact got two weeks worth of detion for stunning people instead of the bats "at least we got in some pratice for Defanse."

Leigh nodded and turned into the Great Hall. A few bats hung from the ceiling, but the main decorations this year were floating Jack-o-lanterns, which chatted merrily amongst themselves, gossipping about the antics of various students as they cast an eerie glow over the entire event. "They're...very nice."

Ray, of course was right. As Peter went off on his little tirade, Jess became very miffed indeed. "I'll have you know that you do not sound at all good. You sound as though you've been eating those ridiculous mushrooms that Muggles like so much because they think they're magic! You're acting completely ridiculous. I should have just let you keep your headache. At least then you were quiet." With that, Jess stood up and swiftly left the Great Hall, really not caring much about Peter, though she was still absentmindedly stroking her necklace.
Desiree had to keep her eyes down, or else she would have cracked up at Jess's rage. She stuffed some bread in her mouth to keep herself from bursting out laughing, though she wouldn't have been the only one. After Jess left and she had become calm enough, she finally allowed herself to swallow. "Hey, these rolls are good."

Peter shrugged it off, not particularly caring what this temporarily unknown woman did or said to him, and continued to stuff himself with rolls.
"So I've heard," Ray answered, grinning. "What d'you think's wrong with Peter? You know he doesn't usually act like that...and if he was himself now, he'd be on his knees before Jess."

"Well I hate to agree with Jess..." She raised an eyebrow at the ravenous Peter, who took no mind of his girlfriend being gone. "But I agree with Jess. That boy is on something..." Having finished eating, she flopped forward on the table, resting her head on her arms and staring intently at him. "Doesn't look well at all."
Jess, who had decided it best to take out her frustrations elsewhere, and come across that boy who had given her Cockroach Clusters the other day. Sighing, she silently grabbed him by the shirt and dragged him down into the Slytherin dungeons and up to her dormitory.

"He looks fine to me," remarked Ray, his Y chromosome limiting his ability to see things that girls saw. "But he's not acting right, not at all. D'you think we should...you know drag himself back to the--he's stopped eating."
Peter had, in fact, stopped eating. He set down his half-chewed roll on his plate, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and looked up in wonder at the Jack-o-lanterns. "Come down, Jack!" he called, his neck failing to keep his head upright.

Desiree's jaw dropped, in an almost horrified manner. "Oh that's it, something has to be done." She bolted up and grabbed Ray by the hand, dragging him along with her all the way to the Slytherin table, where Peter was already getting some nasty stares. "Peter, Jack likes it up there. Why don't you come with us?"

"Oh, alri--" Peter was promptly cut off as Ray practically lifted Peter from the table. "Get up, Peter. We're going to have...an adventure."
"An adventure!" shouted Peter excitedly. "Oh, I do like--"
"Peter," repeated Ray, crossly. Peter obeyed him and began to head for the entrance, all the while, telling them about adventures that he'd dreamed about as a child.

Desiree nodded, acting fascinated by Peter's stories, offering up an occassional "Oh really? Interesting. And then what?" as she kept her hand on his back, pushing him up towards the staircase. She leaned behind him and whispered to Ray. "Do we bring him to the Hospital Wing?"

"No, I think he's drunk. We'll just take him up to the Common Room and let him sleep it off. If we can get him asleep," added Ray, turning to Peter with a smile. "Wow! That's very exciting," he told Peter, nearly at the top of the stairs.

"Alright Peter, one more big step, up we go!" They finally, miraculously made it to the seventh floor and dragged him along to the portrait of the Fat Lady. "Wait...we don't know the password..."

Ray swore and nudged Peter anxiously. "You don't remember, do you?"
"Remember what?" asked Peter innocently.
"The password."
"It's a secret."
"Do you know the secret?" snapped Ray.
Peter giggled. "Yes."
"Alrighty. Just...whisper it to the portrait, won't you?"
Peter nodded, still giggling slightly, and whispered something to the portrait, which swung open reluctantly.

"Wow. Peter, what a great secret." She pushed him into the Common Room, being greeted by a confused looking first year girl. Desiree gave her a nervous grin. "Which way are the boys' dormitories?" The girl pointed up the stairs to the left and blinked as Desiree and Ray pushed Peter on by.
