A murder mystery should be really popular if you look back and see how many people were trying to hunt down and track Eris in the last ball, and all the others who were trying to figure out "who dunnit" in Hades.

Murder Mystery could be really cool. Only problem is as I said earlier: It might be hard to make multiple unique rooms with their own plots with it. I know Blissy did a who dun it in her Castle thread during the 7th Annual Ball.
With Shakespeare and language... I'm not sure. >w< But it would be fun to adapt each plot to fit the party format. 'Cause you obviously wouldn't just want to type out the play, but have it be something people could interact with and stuff. ♥

Zodiac/horoscope would fit the constellation theme, right? o.o Or would it be a theme in itself?

I think it's it's own theme. I know that was brought up last year, but that's a lot of signs to do. Otherwise, that would probably be my favorite idea.
Okayso, I think it's 'cause I'm slightly delirious from a long day of work with no air conditioning and I just ate ice cream: But what about ice cream types? I don't know how well that would translate, but like different flavors being the inspirations for each room, and the decoration / plot being based off of the sense of the different flavors. It might be a little too cutesy for some of our more masculine users though. ♥

What I keep seeing with the Shakespeare theme, as strange as it sounds, is having each play set in a different sort of "period". Of course, we would have the lovely classic Shakespearean (or however you spell that... razz ) setting for one, for the real fans out there. Then we could have on in, oh, a steampunk setting... modern day... futuristic? Old west... New Orleans voodou? (HEEHEE!) Or, if different time periods/settings wouldn't work, then it might be interesting to adapt them to different styles of literature. The key word here is "adapt". Because, that way, we can use the same general plotline, but work it out in new and different ways so that people don't really know what to expect. Thoughts?

what about food? we could either have all the food groups, or we can do the important meals of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snack)

For some reason I just laugh at Shakespeare in different time periods. x.x I know it's bad, because a lot of people love that... but for me, for some reason, it just takes away the magic. So it might be a good idea, but since Shakespeare in different time periods is a pet peeve I have about theater, I might not be the one to ask. >w< ♥

G-Gage Angelisha: You mean like Candyland? I guess so, but like... JUST with ice cream. Like say we had a Strawberry room. The setting would have to be somewhere girly like a mall or a garden or something, and the characters would all be sweet. But then like with mint chocolate chip or something, we could have like a poppy setting like a club or something, and all the characters would be dynamic and suave... that kind of thing. I don't think it compares to some of the other ideas, but it ran across my mind so I figured I'd throw it out there for people to do whatever they like with it. ♥

sailor sunburst ugh... well, i'm out of new ideas for themes... but maybe we could toss my dragon theme around some more? i havent been keeping track so idk if you guys have discussed it any more... Can you explain a little more what you mean please? I know I briefly mentioned a mythological creatures theme... but I didn't see the convo about the Dragon alone theme. I think that would get hard to make multiple rooms for. But please explain! ♥

No no, I completely understand! I personally find it a fascinating thought, but I know it's not everybody's cup of tea. ^_^ That's why I asked for feedback in the first place. One of the reasons I even brought it up is that I feel like that would make it a little more accessible to the part of the world that really doesn't like Shakespeare all that much. *shrug* It might be interesting to do A Midsummer Night's Dream theme... and play with the different connotations of that. Sweet dreams, nightmares... the actual characters from the play moving around. In general, what do you think of that? (Someone may have mentioned this before, I've just realized...)
