Vasire looked out after his father. "No, I will not go to sleep. I am not tired." He stood and stepped away from his mother, intent to follow his father... only to trip over his sister and sprawl on the floor of the den. With an indignent huff, he climbed to his feet again, shaking the dust from his fur. Vas looked back at his mother. "I want to go see a king." He informed her before padding off in the direction that his father had gone.

Jax grinned. "Thank you!" He nodded his head eagerly. "If another lion comes along who may have more experience than I, they can take over," He promised. His eyes followed Rellick's gaze, and he suddenly remembered that the magenta lion had said something about family affairs. "That-" Jax paused, realizing he had no idea what that lion's name was. He opted to nod and indicate toward his retreating figure in the distance and said, "He said he had some family affairs to take care of. Left pretty darn angry too, by the looks of it."

Nitarin hesitated in his progress towards the Den, smiling down at his son. With a flick of his tail, he seemed to consider something, then nodded. "Shall we go see your Grandfather, Young Prince?"
Rellick smiled his thanks at Jax. "Go play then Lad... And I thank you for all you have done for this Pride so far..." He noted that Nitarin was slowly making his way back toward the Den, and smiled gently. He did adore his youngest son, the Dusk Wanderer. But now Nitarin was grown, mated, and soon to be a father... Would he even remain in Scarlet Shadows?

A black lion wandered at the edge of the Pride. There was no destination in mind, only the need to get somewhere... ANYWHERE. The once Dark Prince of Scarlet Shadows, mate of the King, could no longer remember anything. A trip home from taking Tay-yibah to her Pride, a wildebeast stampede... the pile of rocks... then nothing. Waking up in pitch darkness, lost, confused...
So he wandered, following the instinctual urge to go this way... then that way. He did remember his name, Jayvyn. Knew that there was someone out there he knew, more then a someone... a family. He couldn't find them... remember them.
So he wandered.

Areli turned, and stepped over to Rellick, nosing his cheek lightly. "You alright?" she asked quietly, noting where Rellick's gaze rest.
Fatale was ontop of the den by this time, watching her brother from a distance. She sniffed the air, for a moment, thinking she smelt someone familiar... someone, she hadn't seen in a long time... but, she couldn't figure it out, so she let the wonder go. The Princess let out a free yawn, streaching herself out calmly.

Rellick turned his eyes away from his son's slow progress to Areli, smiling gently at her. "Well enough, Dearest Fire Palm." He nosed her gently. "Well enough." The faintest hint of Jayvyn's scent seemed to dance on the breeze to Rellick's nose, making his very spine tingle. He had so loved the Dark Prince.... He had thought they would be together forever.. But Jay had been gone, so long now... So long... The wind changed and suddenly there was nothing but the scent of the Pride, his children, and the female at his side. Rellick found he was chiding himself silently. 'He went with Tay.. He probably isn't back yet.. If he's even comming back...'

"If I may say, King Rellick...," she began, adressing him as King... something she rarely did, since she saw them to be close enough. "You don't seem so well... distracted maybe.... upset?" she asked, nosing him lightly again, alittle more playfully this time though.

He would have continued on, if not for the winds sudden change. A scent, so spicy and masculine, filled his nostrils. A Kings scent. Flashes of crimson and gold flitted across his mind. Nerves tingled and he ground to the sudden halt. What was this? He knew the scent, the knowledge had been there, so suddenly. Snatched away so quickly.
The black form turned to the Pride, approached the border with caution. What would he find here? The scar on his leg told him he'd been in a fight, had gotten hurt. Was it from a wild animal, a hyena, or another lion?

The scent of a moonless night, the cool caress of near-winter winds, a dusk and night coated male. Jay. Rellick shook his head, when his mate returned, they would see what they would see.. Until then, he had a Pride to protect. "You may say all you will Areli." He said playfully, then he sombered. "Would you act as Queen?" The request was one he had held off, with Jay around he had no real need for a Queen, but without his support.. Rellick needed someone to help with Pride affairs, and he and Areli had always shared a bond beyond he and any other female. Was it possible to love two beings so entirely different? He knew he loved Jay.. But spending so much time with Areli... "Would you act as Queen of Scarlet Shadows, for me?" He asked again.

Areli looked at him, at first, not exactly believing him. "Rellick..." she paused for a minute, trying to figure out at first what he was saying, but then she mentaly hit herself. "Yes.. Rellick... of course..." she said, nosing him lightly again.

His paws edged the border. There was a sense of nervousness as he let out a small roar. Would he find what he was seeking here? Would this black void of his mind be filled?

Rellick let out a sigh of relief and smiled, nuzzling Areli's cheek gently. He sighed in relief, purring in content. A tenative roar at the border of his Pride shocked him to his very core. He knew that voice. Jayvyn. "Areli, if you would watch over the Pride for me."
Nitarin froze at the sound of his Dark Sire's voice. He stood over Vasire, instinctually protecting his son, and turned toward the border. "Jayvyn." He said softly, without emotion.. The single word carried on the wind.

Areli paused at the roar, recognising it slightly. He's back... she thought. "Of course, Rellick." she said with a smile, nosing him again.
Fatale's ears flicked, and she quickly rose to her paws. "Daddy..." she said, her voice soft. Her thistle orbs seemed to lock on the border, her body stiffening slightly. Was it him?!

Something inside told him to step over the border. Into another males lands. He shrunk into himself, trying not to seem intimidating. If another found him, he might very well be attacked. He was not big enough, nor strong enough to protect himself. But still he crept on. To the banks of a lake he felt he knew.

With a final nuzzled and a smile, Rellick left Areli's side. Trotting toward the border with his head held high, he wondered what would greet him. He noted a familiar shape curled upon itself near the lake, and felt a twinge at his heart. "Jayvyn." He said softly, approaching the male slowly. "Bye the Moon Lioness, where have you been? What happened to you?" He felt like tears were sliding down his cheeks. "I thought we lost you."
