His head whipped around at the sound of his name. A male... scarlet and gold, the scent of spice and male stronger then ever in his nose. Dusk eyes watched the King - for he could be no other - with shock, and awe. The sight of him... made the tingle in his nerves turn to tremors.
The black form dropped to the ground, head bowed. "Forgive me for intruding, for not waiting at the borders." How could he explain that something inside had told him to cross the boundry?

Rellick halted at the sight of his beloved bowed before him. "Jay, please don't." He paced forward, wanting to lick his cheek, nuzzle into the warmth of the dark mane, forget everything but the strength of that dark body. "You need not wait at the borders of your home, nor ask my forgiveness.. Just tell me why you waited so long to come home.."

His gaze was bewildered as he stared up at the scarlet male. "Home?" Jay glanced around. "Is this my home?" The black void showed nothing. He couldn't remember any home, anything. Only the feelings a place or lion brought him. And he quivered before the strength of feels this lion brought to him. "I don't remember... anything."

Rellick withdrew, ears flattening and eyes dimming. "You don't... Remember anything?" He echoed softly, and it seemed like the world could hear his heart breaking. "Yes.. This is your home.. And the home of our children... " He took a few paces backwards, wondering if it was even possible for Jay to forget everything, much less recover all that he had lost.

Jay shrunk into himself again. "I'm sorry... I can't remember. This is home, yes." He could feel that. "I feel that it is... and that you... are very important to me." The Dark Prince hesitantly took a few steps closer. "I... I..."
His head sank down. Why couldn't he remember?! It had something to do with the Stampede, the pile of rocks. The pain in his skull and the sudden black void.

It hurt Rellick's heart to see the Proud Dark Prince shrinking down like a cub being cornered by Hyenas. He looked so shamed, so defeated. "Yes, this is your home... " He whispers. "What happened? Do you remember anything? You left to take Tay home, and then what? You've been gone so long.." He couldn't hold it, the pain in him slipped out with his last words, and he stepped close enough to bury his muzzle in his mate's mane.

He stood still for a moment as the larger male buried his face in his mane. A shaky breath was let out. Then with a small, lost noise, his own face was buried in scarlet softness. "I remember... wildebeast stampede... a large pile of rocks. Pain in my head and then nothing else."

Rellick made soothing noises and nuzzled his mate, purring softly. "A stampede? I am sorry... If I had known something was wrong, I would have come for you... But I thought perhaps you had gone wandering, or maybe you were staying with Tay for a time.." He rested his chin atop Jay's head, trying to comfort him. "You're home.. Everything will be alright..."

The lithe frame shivered, pushing into Rell's larger body. "How would you have known? We're not connected... mind-to-mind, are we?" Purple eyes were curious, peering up at the King.

Rellick made more soothing noises. "We were once, My Heart..." He whispered softly, smiling into Jay's eyes. "We were once, and shall be again..." He glanced across the Pride Lands. "Our sons are about, but our daugher waits at the Den, as does the Pride.. You need not speak to many if you do not wish it, for I am sure you would rather rest..." He already planned on making sure Jay went right up to The King's Ledge, where Rell himself normally slept, and took a nap.

"Oh." He returned the smile, purring softly. "My family..." The Dark Prince gazed in the direction of the caves. "What are we going to do, Rell?" The male was silent for a moment, blinking as the name spilled from his lips. Rell... Rellick... King of Scarlet Shadows, and his mate. Finally something from the emptiness...

Rellick smiled gently, nosing his mate's dark cheek. "You are going to rest, and then we'll call Dashira.. Her Shaman skills should be able to help, but rest, and food, and to be with your family will probably do for now... " He smiled and stood. "Shall we head back to the Den?"

Jax smiled, shaking his head slightly. "You need not thank me," He said as he started to turn away. "This is my home." He left the Scarlet King's side and moved to the side of the cave, where he could keep out of anybody's way, lying down as Rion promptly scampered to his shoulder, nose twitching. He had had enough excitement for a day, he supposed, and gently laid his head down onto the floor, watching as he lay still as a great brown rock.
He lifted his head at the sound of a roar. One that he recognized, but only barely and after a moment's consideration. "He's back?" He muttered to himself. Brushing the red mouse to the ground, he stood up, and wordlessly made his way to Brooke's side. The lioness had dozed off, it seemed, and Jax gently licked her muzzle to wake her.
Brooke blinked, and looked up to see Jax's frame hovering above her. He had gotten so big recently, that it was hard to accept the huge change in him. "Huh?" Then she froze. She recognized the smell all too well, wafting from the edge of the pride's lands. "Jayvyn."

((Bye Moon.. Have fun in Hong Kong.. ^.^))
Naharia paced to the mouth of the Den, all senses reaching out toward her sire. She knew he was tense, could feel it creeping up her flakes, and wondered if she should risk pacing out to him. 'Daddy.' She mused silently. 'I'm comming...' Trotting out of the Den and into the grass, she paced toward the lake, and followed its coast toward the border.
Nitarin paced back from drinking at the lake toward his mate and children, pausing to toss his elder sister a smile. He knew Naharia was worried about their sire, and Nitarin could see it in her eyes as she gave him a tense nod. "I'm sure he's alright." He murmured as she trotted past. "Call if you need me."
