Dyke sighed and thought, "Guh... travel all the way to Lycia? Geh, this is going to be exhausting..."

Dyke replied, "Sure. Let's go." He and his horse, along with Syndis, galloped off to the country of Lycia.

((As I disappear here, I reappear in Lycia. Bye-bye!))

( on the isle of valor)

:: Reaper waved to the company gathered to see him off. a small gathering of family and a few friends, and his ship began to set sail to lycia. He watched until he could see the crying of his adopted mother, or his best firends wave. He turned, and looked at the approaching land mass. the Elibe mainland. He was soon to embark on his journey to find his family. starting in the port of Badon ::

(Etrurian Border)

Finn silently walk away from the group, keeping his sight low. Still a bit dizzy from the fight, he walks rather slowly, sighing to himself.

"Damn it!" He says when he's deeper in the wood "I won't have those innocents risk their lives for my cause, since Syvern isn't there, I'm in this alone..."

He presses on forward.

Krett swiveled his head to once again look at Takako. "Do you think our mystery man here knows we can still hear him?" There was a clear streak of amusement in his voice.

Kamdas
Krett swiveled his head to once again look at Takako. "Do you think our mystery man here knows we can still hear him?" There was a clear streak of amusement in his voice.
Takako doesn't reply to Krett, and watches silently as the Lord turns and walks away without replying to either Krett or Lyle's inquiries. His lone figure walking away into the distance causes an image to flash in her mind... an image of a boy carrying a sword, his back turned, walking across the plains of Sacae... was she to lose this mysterious boy, who made her feel strange and shy?

She didn't want to be separated from him yet. Not here, not now... there was so much she didn't know. If he wouldn't take her, she would follow him, quietly protecting him. She waited until the young Lord was out of sight, then quietly, she put her hand on Maia's reins.

"I'm sorry, Krett-sama... I must... go as well." she turned to Krett and Lyle. "I am going to follow him as my Lord and leader, whether he wishes it or not. I will probably be more of a nuisance than a help to him, but this is my true feelings, and my own selfishness. please forgive me for the trouble I have put you through." She paused. "It sounds ridiculous, but I have loved and lost before. And I won't let it happen again.

... I'm sure we will meet again soon."

With that, she led Maia quietly into the forest and disappeared.

Lyle waited for Takako to almost get out of view and then took the time to look at the monk. He certainly was not a shield of force or anything close. If Lyle was going to survive, he'd need to have some more metal between him and anything sharp and stabby if war was coming. Besides, he'd never live it down with his family or clergy if he let two innocents run off to certain death. He also supposed he had that pesky conscience to deal with. It's one thing when an army already has ten healers to run away, but none...

"I can't believe I'm about to do this," he grumbled under his breath and then facing Krett, "I'll trust you not to ask me what the hell I'm doing, because it's very obvious that I don't even know what I'm doing. May the light of Etruria guide you on your path and to safety...and once again, I trust you'll have the good enough sense not to mention this anyone. If anyone knew that the unstrikeable was actually headed towards a war, they might begin to expect it."

Lyle tossed off his cleric vestments, his gaudy symbol, and his healing staff and stuffed it into his pack. Underneath all of it, he was wearing just plain traveling clothes and looked fairly average on is outside. An awkward bumbling youth with a full pack.

"This is crazy," Lyle thought to himself, "there's no way I'm going to be able to keep hidden from them. I'm going to have a pissed off noble and a pegasus knight on my already bad record. Eh. Maybe I can get out of the clergy if I fall far enough."

With that, Lyle tried to follow the lord and knight quietly from a distance keeping hidden from sight behind the trees when he could.

"Why couldn't they have taken a break from the God stuff to teach some stealth and camoflauge and tracking."

After a moment, Krett trotted briskly forward and caught up to Lyle, matching his pace neatly.

"You know, an occurrence like this is rare enough to justify being there to see it. The Unstrikable, actually walking *into* trouble. Besides, there's a chance that Mystery Man there is going to do something big and noble and generally helpful to the populace."

Besides,
he thought to himself, it seemed like he was heading for the border. If nothing else, I can have strength of numbers while I get into Lycia. I hear the war is leaving a lot of problems to be solved.

And as his feet carried him along, it somehow did not occur to him that he was also fulfilling the monk's generic duty to guard other clergymen.

((You guys, I'm thinking of using JD's two-ships map for Main Quest Chapter 2. It could take place at a river port heading for Ostia. I think Takako (who would have followed Finn all the way to the port like any lovesick peggy) should bump into Lyle and Krett again. Then we could all be stowaways! Yay! surprised Then we could use the bridge one for Chapter 3 when we're trying to break into the castle. That'd be so hot.))

Finn continues down the path, finishing the vulnarie he started earlier, right before the fight.

"Argh.... ugh..... This thing tastes awful.... ergh..."

Uncapping his flask, he drinks a few sip from it, closing his eyes, he lay against a tree, taking back his breath. Its almost noon allready, he walked for quite a long time.

As he stares at the back of his eye lids, sparkles of red strikes his vision...........

Marquess Reglay: The time as comed, my friends. After years of training, the time has come. The ArchAngel front line unit will be dispatched to Ostia in a final strike agains't Lycia. Be prepared. 7th Division commander, Syvern Slade!

A charismatic knight stept forward, putting a closen fist against his chest, bending his upper body forward lightly.

Marquess Reglay: Your unit will be dispatched on the Etrurian border for a flank attack. Our whole strategy is laying in your hands, commander

Syvern: We will not deceive you, my lord

Marquess Reglay: And please... You have a man of importance in your squad... Protect him well.

Finn: But.... but.... I'm no kid... I... I trained hard... I...

AM NO KID ANYMORE!!!!

Then an explosion in his memories made Finn twitch, the town they passed through was attacked... His whole unit was eliminated... Burned in this brazier that became the village.

Syvern: Finn! RUN NOW!

Finn: I CAN FIGHT.... I CAN!!

Syvern pointed the gate with a striking urge in the eyes as something horrifying approached him... Massive dark angelic wings was all he could see from his point of view. Syvern unseathed his Sol Kati at the center of the burning village and dashed in the direction of the creature creating yet another explosion, launching Finn in the air, his body landing on a pile of debrit, a piece running through his shoulder as he screamed in pain.

Finn: S...Syvern!!

He remembers walking a bit on the road and finally collapsing...

Finn opened his eyes again, holding back tears as he dropped to his knees near a small river washing his face.

Takako hid silently, sitting in a tree branch above the river where the young lord slept. Maia was grazing in a plain over by the edge of the forest, and the cool shade from the tree shielded her from the afternoon sun.

Syvern? ... That was... his best friend. I had a best friend too, once.

She was wandering aimlessly for her own selfish, silly reasons. To follow this boy she didn't even know and who didn't want her help. It was probably best if she returned home to Ilia, but it was already too late. She couldn't return home empty-handed, to the town where so many faded memories lived.

Takako gracefully slid down from the tree branch, making only a slight sound as she rustled through the leaves. She turned and ran back to the plain in case the lord might have heard her.

"Nante muzukashii na koto, kata omoi wa
What a difficult thing it is, these unrequited feelings... "

OOC-I'm mostly planning Lyle to give away his location when either it incredibly humorous to do so or it makes for nice dramatic pacing, but that could probably fit in to your plan. So, sounds like fun.

Lyle groaned a bit as he peeked out from behind another and remained as stealthy as a bumbling cleric could.

"You know. If I'm going to travel with these people, I hope my reputation doesn't spread that far, but with my family, I wouldn't doubt it."

"...and by traveling with, I mean behind."

"I should be fine as long as we don't run into anyone else from Etruria."

Lyle stopped as he caught up to the Lord and sees him taking a rest.

"Well, looks like we get to rest a bit. Since you know all about me, and we'll probably be traveling for at least a bit longer, it might only be fair if you tell me a bit about yourself."

Lyle took a seat, pulled out his stale bread roll and offered a portion of it which was obviously less than half to Krett.

Finn slowly takes off his circlet, breast plate and vest as he quickly dives his head in the water, in a weak attempt to clean his face and silver hair. Removing his head from the water, he runs a hand in his hair and prepares to remove his pants to bathe a bit: following his noble way of life when his whole body harden into a ready position: He heard a nois.

His blue eyes scan the woods for an instant, yet another sound is heard, making his hand run to his Wolf Beil before getting up. Leaving his equipment there, he begins to run in the direction he heard the slight sound and finaly, barely, recognize the Pegasus knight's silhouette.

Yet he doesn't get up his pursuit.

She turns her head for an instant and sees the shape of the young lord.

Shocked, she tries to run faster, but keeps turning her head back to see if he's still behind her.

... And trips over a fallen tree, landing face down in the leaves and dirt.

OOC- This should get interesting.

Lyle heard a crashing rustle in the woods.

"Oh god," he squealed, "we've been spotted. It could be Bandits."

Lyle immedatly scampered behind one of the nearby trees.

"We're being attacked," he whispered over to Krett, "you do your thing and I'll heal you... from over here. You can zap things, right?"

He whimpered and as he curled behind the tree.

"I knew this was stupid. I knew this was stupid. I knew this was stupid."
