"Alright. Just do what you can for them,"she said, trying to take some of the weight off her injured knee, but the wound on her other hip wasn't much more comfortable. As for the abusive treatment, she would endure it just fine...She had been through a lot in her life, and a bit of punnishment for the greater good was just something she could add onto the list. She watched her cutlass go sailing through the air, and clatter onto the wood behind her.

At once, the members of both crews seemed to know something had changed in the air abord the Luciana...Those remaining from the dove saw their Captain's blade cast aside, and her injuries...With that much blood coating her hands, she couldn't even manipulate a flame; sweat was one thing to deal with, but blood was another...Slowly they stopped the assault, knowing that without her, the battle was lost.

Breathing somewhat labored from the strenuous duel he had just gone through, and not coming out of without a few scratches on his person (not that they were anything compared to the other captain's injuries), Falk didn't take his eyes off his "beaten foe" when he spoke up. "Everyone alive is deemed liable to surrender or be cut down now," he said in a loud and clear voice so everyone still standing (or merely just alive perhaps) would hear him as he held Erica at a sword point's end. From here on it was all pretend and appear the great vice admiral, as usual.

"As much of a success this battle has been, it has interrupted us on our misson and we have lost men. The Black Dove is still floating," he said, adding more to himself in a lower tone, "if only barely," before raising it again. "I want her patched up and the prisoners locked up in there. Her captain is going to be sitting separate from her crew here on the Luciana." For a second, Falk turned his head down onto the deck, quickly finding the person he needed. "Mr. Bugai, come up here the moment you're free, would you?"

((XD;; Oh. And Kami, we couldn't find your treasure island so I, uh, got the honor of picking a new one. =D;;;;; Don't worry, I place it in a good spot so that it would be too much out ofd the way from Laossei. ^^))

((I don't know where the treasure island is either. o_oa I didn't know we had picked one.))

Gerald Bugai had been watching with the rest of the (still conscious and breathing) members of the Black Dove or the Luciana as the Vice-Admiral made his announcement. He stepped away from the man he had been fighting, lowering his sword (but not after knocking the pirate's cutlass out of his hand and onto the deck), and made his way through the still crowd and bodies and up the stairs to where the two captains waited.

"Sir?"

((o_O;; You didn't? from the directions you gave it sounded like you had an idea/vague idea. So I followed your directions, somewhat (because I wasn't really clear on them XD; ) and picked two examples. >.>;

>=E Oh. And my thought hadn't been for anyone actually taking Bugai up there but for the "general crew" to follow Falk's other requests. >_>;; You made me come up short on how to continue, Kami. Damn you. >=p So, technically, it was your fault it took this long to post here. >=E))

Looking straight at the healer, Falk seemed to ignore his defeated foe but to anyone that knew, he was keeping some of his attention on the other captain, as always. "Heal the crew with the other healers and then come back to me. Don't tire yourself out but make sure that the least harmed ones are fully mended and that the most harmed will be all right. I'll be in my quarters, "talking" to the captain here," he finished before moving over to Lance's cutlass and picking it up in his free hand.

"Aye, Captain,"said Bugai, waving another member of the crew over to the pair. He waited until he was sure that the other man wouldn't have any problems with the pirate captain, and then hurried off to carry out his orders.

Lance got rather irritatedly to her feet as she was pulled up by the crewman. He had a surprisingly good hold on her wrists, despite the fact that she didn't have a weapon, as he led her down the stairs perhaps a little faster than her injuries would have liked. She nearly fell once, but as it turned out the fact he was holding so tightly onto her arms worked in her favor as it kept her from tumbling down the stairs.

In not much longer than it would normally have taken her to walk considering the slight pushing from the man leading her, Lance found herself in the captain's quarters, Falk standing before her as she leaned up against a support beam to stay on her feet. The crewman left, closing the door behind him, and Lance smirked just a little bit to herself, honestly having thought of surrender as the last thing she would ever do...yet here it was.

"You look like you can nearly stand. I'm sorry about that," Falk said as the door had closed behind them and he was sure no one was right outside. He did, however, speak with a voice some decibles lower than normal conversation tone just to be safe. No one was to know about this, no one. "Can you sit?" he asked as he pulled out a chair and placed a dark wine sheet over it. It was mostly to save the chair itself the blood stains (although he couldn't really care less for the chair, to tell the truth) but it was also for any of the crew who might come knocking. It was enough to actually offer her a chair rather than demand her to stand all the while. But he didn't want her to fall to the floor.

"Don't be sorry...You've gotten better, actually, from the last time we did anything like that..."She said quietly, as she nodded and very gratefully took the seat. The wound on her knee hurt quite a lot, but it wasn't anything she couldn't take...That didn't mean that Lance wasn't astoundingly happy to be able to take the weight off of it.

"I can't deny being impressed...You fight very well, but I can't say I really expected any less," the pirate Captain said with a little bit of a laugh in her voice. She couldn't help but find the entire situation extremely strange...Here she was, holding a relatively normal conversation, all the while bleeding a bit from the fight they had just been in.

Falk nodded, giving her a lopsided smile and a small "heh" in reply beflore looking at her wounds where he stood leaning on a desk. "Thank you, I keep my techniques fighting fit. And don't worry, I plan on having those wounds closed for you. Can't have our captive going and dying on us while she and the gallows have a date, right?" he asked with a small grin. As morbid as it could be taken, they both knew it was never going to happen. He would see to that. And if Daymin didn't agree... well, too bad for him. He didn't really have a say in this when it came to the "do" or "don't" part.

"No, bleeding out before the drop would be quite a waste indeed..."Lance replied, quite happy to hear the news that they would in fact be healed in the near future, rather than just waiting for them to close on their own...that wasn't something she wanted to wait for, nor was she one to enjoy the risk of infection. True, thanks to the healers wounds rarely got the opportunity to become infected, but the few foolish ships to sail without one often reported tales of their wounded suffering immeasurably from remaining untreated.

Lance leaned back in the chair, and ran a hand through her mussed hair. "So...Tell me. What have you been doing since Fahr...died?"she phrased it in a tone that let him know she still thought perhaps there was some spark of the famous pirate left in the world. The Fahr she knew certainly wouldn't have gone out so easily.

He looked at her for a moment in silence. He knew her, he had understood her. Closing his eyes, the man inhaled slowly and then let it out in the same fashion, almost making it a sigh. If so, of what? Because of memories? Because what she wanted to find wasn't there anymore? Or because it still was?

"After I defeated the vice Admiral, one bloody fight that could just as well have killed me, we were quite equal, him and me, they made very sure I stayed alive long enough to get back to Asura," he said, fixing his eyes on one of the windows that faced the far horizon and the wake the ship left behind during flight. "My thought had been to make a grand finale, a splendid exit using my manipulation... if I now was strong enough to get away that is. And if I hadn't," he shrugged, "then at least I would have been on the top when I went, having taken down a vice admiral personally. In a completely manipulation-free duel no less. But," here he stopped, pausing for a moment before continuing, "it never came to that.

"I got to meet with the then recently promoted vice executive of eastern Asura's Company territory. It seems the man had been a great help in cleaning up, his rank being proof enough of that I guess, even for the less worldly person. It was a great loss... and I seemed as good as the admiral, if not more since I had beaten him. I must say, du Ruthart made a bold move. Bold but definitely good if it went through. Had it been discovered he would surely have lost his position, I'm sure. And I wasn't a fool enough to not take it. You know I've always placed staying alive before keeping my pride in one piece," here he turned his face onto hers again. "Pride, in my meaning, can always be avenged, much like dead people."

"Well, du Ruthart wasn't stupid, he knew the man's family wouldn't agree to such a thing. That's why he set it up, the attack on the family du Ruine." It became obvious that Falk still, not even in her company who knew, spoke of the real Falk du Ruine by name. The reason was fairly obvious too. Years and years of having to conceal the fact, where one slip could lead to the gallows, and after such a miraculous escape from it too. But Falk continued.

"The reminder of the crew was restationed and then slowly killed off, making it seem like natural causes or accidents. They weren't many to begin with and the man himself was more important and useful. They had to prioritize." He said it like he understood. Had the years, the situation itself, how it was explained to him or his own strong will to survive allowed it? Or was it the pirate in him who had not protested when such a sacrifice was made to "keep a dead man alive"?

"Denizell--my fiancé, or ex as it soon will be," he explained, "agreed to play along with the charade. It was her ticket to staying alive. I guess that, in a sense, she's much like me in that way. Of course, she really did like the man, loved even. I don't know if we ever would have gotten married at some point, I guess the wait have been acceptable seeing our ranks in life as nobles and I've tried to find someone else for her... for her sake." Did he feel like he owed it to the woman? "Now, I guess, half the problem is solved. I can say that I don't want to bind her down when I've found," and here he turned back towards Lance again, looking her straight in the eye, "a lady of noble blood from Feore that I've fallen for."

((Aiya! >o>; Falk's true history, at least the one that wasn't told in his bio. XD; Or should we call that Fahr's true history? Well, they're the same man now.
Hmn, well, to confess... hadn't Lance and Fahr gotten this relationship that they did (which certainly wasn't planned for, just kind of... happened) this revelation would have come slowly and much later. >.>; ))

Lance smiled a little bit to herself as he spoke, remaining silent as she listened. The smile perhaps was from interests, or perhaps it was from seeing what she was looking for in his words...The matter of whether it was there or not was a different thing completely.

"It sounds like you've been very busy...Has the Navy been treating you right since then?"she asked, particularly liking the last statement he made. It seemed almost how things had been before...Certainly, different circumstances, but the ends would be the same.

She let out a contented sounding sigh, and then asked, "Will I be a replacement, like you? Or just some fabrication?" Regardless it didn't really matter, but she did wonder how many alterations to reality would need to be made on her behalf.

((>.>;; Don't. It was going to get explained/told at some point anyway.))

Falk raised an eyebrow at her first question. "Treating me right? I'm their vice admiral and nobility of Asura. Of course they have. One of the main reasons this hasn't been completely impossible is because the man himself wasn't much for appearing much in public, not many had seen him in the flesh, so to speak," he said with a small, lopsided smile at her. "Also, I do look somewhat like him, however much or little it now is. So, to answer your question, they certainly have. Actually, seeing how busy I've been it should be just a matter of time before they promote me to admiral." The second highest position within the navy, and at such a young age (relatively speaking)... It was something, that. Something and a good something too.

At her second question he just smiled at her. "There's no one I know of that you could replace, really, so no. You'll not be a replacement. However, Feore's big and she guards her lands well. To say that you're the daughter or niece to a Feorean baron or even continental noble shouldn't be so hard. There really shouldn't be many who would be interested in looking into your background. But just to be sure, we'll make sure to make your new self as foolproof as possible. Whatever happens, it should be easier than making me into him."

A second passed, Falk having gazed off, looking thoughtful, before his eyes returned onto her. "Well... just as I've been forced to, you'll also need to change slightly. Certain manners and speech must be used, at least in a company that demands it, as well as a certain dress code. Myself, I've gotten so used to it that it's a part of myself since some years back," he said with a shrug. It was true. Such a neat way of dressing wasn't like the high pirate captain Fahr Farwaters, not that he had been someone who wore rags though. But the part of him that was the most changed was his speech, his conduct snatching a close second place. Well, it had been necessary.

"That's quite the promotion...Admiral..."She let out a low, soft whistle showing how impressed she was at the thought. It was truly something worth praise. She listened as he went on, having assumed that replacement was the less likely of the two options...Some generic daughter, niece or cousin would certainly be the easiest option available...but she could hardly fathom herself in a lifestyle like that...

"I can't say I know nothing about normal society without lying, but I am going to need as much help as I can get..."She said sounding as though she had every intention to do whatever it took, she was not looking foreward to it. Her childhood had given her experience with high-society, and the level of enjoyment she had gotten from it was more than likely what pushed her to become a pirate...No, it was definately why she had become a pirate. Well...He never said it would be easy, and she never expected it to be.

"Don't worry," Falk said, "you won't have to pretend before you're at least somewhat comfortable with the rules and role. Even I was given more than a week," it had actually been some half year to a full year, "before I had to become tha man in public too." Even so, from the light playing in his eyes she could surely tell that he had read between the invisible lines and was amused.

"Well, the point with me being a bit more out and about in public after becoming the man was to let people know what Falk du Ruine really was like so that no one could say I was a fake. You, on the other hand, probably won't have to do that as much. Word about me and Denizell breaking our engagement due to a new interest in a Feorean lady should be enough. After all, they don't have anyone to compare you with." It was true. Where Falk'd had the real man to be compared with, however little the flying baron had been out and about among other people there were still some knowledge about him and Falk had been forced to not make a single wrong step in this complicated dance he had entered long ago.
