When I heard Heinkel's voice in the OVA, it made me want to cry. I know he/she/it has a voice actress, but the voice sounded so much like a guy's... Male Heinkel = DO NOT WANT. I hope they make her/him/it sound more feminine in the English dub. crying

Okay, you know Yumie's VA?
I was hoping something abit more like that. Not quite as feminine sounding as Yumie's VA, but a little more on that side.... Tough, but not all that masculine sounding.

Remember when everyone thought Integra was a guy when they first watched the OA, even though both her VA's are obviously female?
Think about what people who don't know the manga will think when they hear Heinkel.

I do not like her voice. That's it. I just don't, it makes her even more masculine then before, and that is not good....
Unless you know her character, there isn't much left to her that may spark the question of her gender. Most people are just gonna think "Oh, it's a guy" and not really question it further... What I mean is....

Also, although Hirano did say once that Heinkel was a woman, he's also said that she/he has no gender. He also goes back and forth on things...
If doesn't matter if her VA is female, women play guys all the time.
The character has still become abit too far on the masculine side, the scale has been tipped.

Heinkel should not be so far on one side of the scale or the other, she should be balanced in the middle. Okay, perhaps her VA will sound a little more feminine to someone fluent in japanese, someone from japan... but her VA is still on the manly side of the scale.

I'm just not ready for the american idiots to cramp my fandom. You know.
"Schro is a werewolf, not catboi, u stupid" will soon change to "Heinkel is not woman, Heinkels is guy, u stoopid."

What did everyone think of Anderson in this OVA.... Hasn't he gotten crazier as of late? eek
He... scares me so much in the OVA's..... ;-;

P.S. Honestly, The dubs been going well. I don't think we have too much to worry about with Heinkels english voice.

I'm not really sure what to say. I know that Heinkel was female in her previous incarnation, so I can't really speak for newcomers to the fandom. Personally, I think Heinkel looks like a woman. I don't think I ever would have mistaken her for a man. However, I can't say for sure that I would have believed her to be a woman if I had heard her voice in the OVA. confused

I liked all the BG music except for that crazy, random jazz tune that played while the Iscariots were reciting their creed. It wasn't bad, but it didn't fit the scene. I would have expected something more solemn, such as Gregorian chants, segueing into hard rock. I've heard a lot of people applauding the tune as being similar to something from Cowboy Bebop or Trigun, but Hellsing is not Cowboy Bebop or Trigun. mad

Also, in case anyone didn't know, the song that plays during Millennium's invasion of London, "Akuma Stocking," was also included by Hirano for the same scenes in Volume 6. I can provide a link to download the mp3, if anyone's interested.
