He smiled again, for he couldn't help it, and nodded. i bet you made a bright wish. I hope it comes true for you, whatever it may be. Though, you remind me of the type that can make their own wishes come true. Like you wanted to have many friends, well, I can see you making all of those friends, just by being who you are.

She tilted her head and smiled. She looked at the sky. "Well the wishes that truly come true are those you make for others." She grinned and flicked her ears again.

Then yours has a great possibility to come true then. He nodded in agreement, and cropped at the grass by his muzzle. I have a question, do you like clover? Or sweet grass? I know of some great patches that we could visit in the morning. If you would like.

She tilted her head and smiled. "How do you know I wished for some one else? I could have wished for my self." She laughed some. She stopped laughing when he asked about the clover and smiled. "Yes clover's are my favorite!" She looked around then back at him. "It's gotten rather dark."

My wish was for someone else as well. He looked out past the branches of the tree as well, to the dark valley that surrounded them now. That's one thing about the plains. There aren't a lot of things to reflect the light. Though it's not as dark as the forests. Especially the dense ones, can get really dark. And it's hard to find your way though those after the sun sets.

Aiane looked at him and smiled, her curiosity at it's brim. "Who did you wish for?" Her ear's flicked about as she watched him with her constant smile. "I don't like dark it scares me. That's why when I stop in the forest I find a nice clearing to sleep in. But out here the moon really helps.

I wished for your wish. You probably had a very wonderful wish. I don't mind the dark so much, except it means that the predators start to attack. I have to keep a constant guard, especially since there is no one around to help defend. But I have gotten good at always keeping my ears alert, and my senses working, so that I won't get snuck up on.

Aiane looked at him and started to giggle wildly. "Our wishes cancel out!" She tried her best to talk but it was rather hard. "I wished for your wish to come true!" She finally stopped her giggling enough to look at him and smile. "I just don't like not being able too see. I don't know why but it's alway's been like that."

I've never been afraid of it for that reason. I guess I'm just strange that way. He nodded to her. Don't worry. Nothings going to happen to you while I'm near. I won't let anything happen to you or anyone that's near.

Aiane smiled and tucked her head into the chest. "I'm getting rather sleepy. But thank you for being my body0gaurd it makes me feel safe." She giggled into her chest.

Hidalgo lay his head down beside her own for a brief moment, before raising it again. Sleep well Aiane. I'll be here in the morning. He angled his ears, one forwards, and one backwars, so he coudl hear any noise from either direction, while is eyes scanned the plains around them.

Aiane looked at Hidalgo and smiled. She tucked her head into her chest, closed her eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep. "Good night Hidalgo I'll see you in the morning." She barely mumbled that before she drifted into dream land.

He watched her for a moment, soft-brown eyes studying the strange mare that had made an acquaintance with him so far. And had trusted him enough that during their first meeting, she was now asleep beside him. He was glad he was the stallion that he was, for he would never take advantage of the sleeping mare by leaving her by herself, and maybe letting something happen to her. No, he would do as he had promised. During the night, he would stay where he was, and make sure that should any danger come upon her, he would either fend it off, or warn her of it, so she knew and would not be caught unaware.
But he did not need to worry for now. The crickets chirrped, and he watched an owl fly by overhead on silent wings, heading to find some unwarry pray for it's breakfast. A bird overhead moved for a moment as it settled, then all was still in the tree again. The moon began it's slow decent into the sky, the small sliver of what that tomorrow would not be present in the sky. He continued to watch it on the same journey that the sun took, marking the hours of the night, before settling his nose gently on the ground, and settled into a light doze; with ears constantly alert for any sounds of approach, of for the warning sound of the silence of the night.
