I laid back down on the mattress, after closing the door. I had been regected, but I guess that's what you get for regecting him first. There was a commotion downstairs, provoking my curiousity. I walked down the winding hall before reaching the stairs and descended down them slowly.
At first I didn't understand what Al was talking about. There was no way she could hear Dusk and I three stories above her. Then again, it was quiet, and she does have amazing hearing. I wasn't quite sure of what to think of the new lad who came with Dawn. Wait, did Dawn leave the house? s**t. I really needed to take better care of the two girls, especially since they were now my responsibility. My eyes widened as Al warned me of my perpetual demise. I nodded in response, wishing that she didn't eavesdrop so much.

Al patted his back roughly and stepped towards the kitchen. "Good.” She turned back to Asher. “ Asher, you like cakes?" She asked and walked down the stairs into the kitchen, she grabbed a few small lemon cakes that had been cooling on the counter and drizzled them with icing before putting them on a silver tray and walking back upstairs. She placed them on the coffee table and smiled at him.
"What brings you here?" she asked her eyes sparkling. It was amazing how she never let her anger with another person intermingle with her relationship with a different being. When she spoke to Asher it was like she was not upset at all. "What do you do for work?" She took a seat across from him on the love seat and crossed her ankles. Acting very lady like.

Franky looked around. "What is up with this place? It always dark. Its not like it is night constantly. Well, there is no-one to talk to. Might as well return to slumbering." He mumbled something else and then lay back down.
((Literate enough?))

The city was still alive with activity and violence. Anyone with a lick of sense would be hiding away in their homes, praying to whatever god would listen that the violence did not find them. And yet Mallory was far from the building in which he resided. He did not really think of this place as home, but he thought of no place so fondly. He also had no sense in his head at this moment; he hungered so that his teeth ached with the want of blood. He swallowed heavily and refused to think on this. Mallory walked swiftly, head down and avoiding others as much as he could. He wanted no part of this incessant fighting; it was poor luck only that saw him running from his father on such an inauspicious night. Mallory picked up his pace as he sensed a familiar presence behind him. He rounded a corner and broke into a full run, but it was not fast enough. Mist coalesced into the form of a man behind him and Mallory found himself struggling against the iron grip of the man's arms. "Let go of me! I want no part of you; release me!" A bloodied wrist was pressed to his lips and, disgusted to the point of tears, Mallory found he could not resist lapping at the crimson trickle.
Alphonse sighed in relief as his son reluctantly calmed himself. No longer struggling, the boy instead hungrily ingested Alphonse's blood. He'd known Mallory needed blood and ought to have known this would induce the boy to run again. It was really such a nuisance; why was the boy so discontent? "Come home now, boy. The streets are not safe tonight." Alphonse spoke in a low voice, far more thickly accented than Mallory's.
"I have no home. I have no father. Leave me be, old man."
Alphonse swore softly in his native tongue and did as he always did in this situation. He threw Mallory over his shoulder and carried the boy back to the safe house. Mallory struggled at the start, but soon enough gave in and hung limply over Alphonse's shoulder, resigned to his defeat. Alphonse rapped his knuckles loudly upon the safe house door. "What were you thinking, boy? Have you no sense of self preservation?" He set Mallory back on his feet.
Mallory glared up at his father, but soon looked away. What was he thinking? As much as it galled him to admit it, his father was right. It was not safe for him to be out this night. Regardless, he could not contain a spiteful response. "I was thinking mon père would appreciate one less burden, non?"

"Work," I was so confused. Maybe she meant my position. I thought quickly. "Armor," I bring armor to soldiers, but I also do a little fighting myself," I could tell she wasn't asking for details, so I left it at that. "I'm here on...buisness." Was that not obvious? I kept looking at Dawn, who sat awkwardly in the chair beside me. I could tell she was slightly embarrased. The people in the room were so strange acting. Shouldn't this Nathaniel guy be fighting? He didn't seem hurt, only confused.
"Asher's buisness is not our own, really," It felt weird to speak for someone else, considering I hardly ever spoke for myself. "And whatever way he got the injury does not matter, he just needs a place to sleep and eat," I didn't want to get on Al's bad side, but she was being quite pushy.
I love to hear her speak.

"I'll do as I please in my home." Al told the child coldly. The girl did not seem to understand at all what she was doing. She was trying to make him feel welcome not interrogated.
Al heard a knock at the door she jumped up and opened it within a second. She saw two men, They looked like father and son. "Welcome back, please come in." She opened the door wider and let them walk into the entrance hall before closing and locking the door behind them.
She bowed slightly. She was still only wearing her short, shear white nightgown, but she seemed very confident in her appearance. "May I take your coats?" She stood up straighter and held out her hands for their coats.{Edited}

I peeked into the room, watching Nathaniel, Al, Dawn and someone I had not before met talk and what not. I needed to get Nathaniel's attention without letting Al see me. The last thing I wanted was to be lectured, not that I didn't care for her advise, I just wanted to speak to Nathaniel.
I sighed as I was about to take a seat on the recliner. With staircase right in front of me, I could plainly see Dusk. Al's words of Dusk being a child ran through my head while I went up the stairs, with Dusk behind me. I continued walking until we reached the top floor, and used the fire escape to climb up onto the roof; my favorite place.
Lucky for me, he had seen me before I had to find a way to get alone. I never liked high places, mainly if I had to climb a ladder to get to it. As soon as I got up I leaned against Nathaniel's chest as he embraced me tightly.

((I'm introducing them as people who already stay there; sorry to have not mentioned it before. I'll post accordingly since Al would undoubtedly know them in that case. If this isn't okay, I'll fix it.))
Alphonse smiled warmly at Alexia and reached for her hand, drawing it to his lips. "Please forgive us if we interrupt your evening, chère. My son, he is such a headstrong boy. He goes off as he pleases and so I must retrieve him as a good father should, oui?"
Mallory tried to keep his expression neutral as he nodded to Alexia. "My apologies. You I did not wish to inconvenience." He speaks very softly, his eyes not meeting hers. Once the words have left his mouth, he walks past Alexia and makes his way to the stairs.

Franky heard a door shut, and looked around. He decided to check it out, so he got up and knocked on the door. "Hello? Is anyone in there?" He sighed, waiting.

Al blushed scarlet and took her hand back gently. "Think nothing of it, In fact I'm glad you came home at all." She gave him a very warm smile. He had always been very polite to her and she appreciated it. At times it was as if he was the only person in the house who really appreciated her, and respected her wishes.
"Mallory, I left your clothing outside your room. You left something in your pocket when you sent it to be washed and I put it under the shirts." She called to the boy. He had left a very interesting Pocket watch In his pocket when he put his pants in the hamper, And Al , Who basically ran the house, Always checked pockets for items and shirts for stains before washing. She had thought the watch was an antic or something so she placed it out of sight.

Mallory paused and looked back to Alexia curiously. Had he forgotten to empty his pockets again? How absent-minded of him. he was loathe to make Alexia work any harder on his behalf. She was always kind to him, more so than his own parent, and it troubled him to trouble her. "Merci beaucoup. And again, my apologies for inconveniencing you." He did not like to see his father so near Alexia. He did not like the way his father looked at her or smiled at her; it turned his stomach. But he would not make a scene; he turned and went to the room he shared with his father, taking in their laundry as he entered. Checking under the shirts, he found a pocket watch that had once belonged to his father and was now his. It was very old and very well crafted; it was the sort off thing he would love to own... had it not come from his father. Mallory raised his hand to hurl the watch across the room, but thought better of it and lowered his arm with a sigh.
"It does seem a bit more crowded since I left. Won't you introduce me to our new friends?" Alphonse looked to Asher and Dawn. The other girl had already taken her leave, but no matter. Alphonse would make her acquaintance later. He turned his smile back to Alexia expectantly. Such a pleasant girl. And she already had the motherly role quite pat.
