"Okay!" Monty said. When the door opened, she ran in. "Pi, no time to lo--"
Pi popped out of Monty's helmet and hit the ground running. "There's been no time to lose for years, Monty," she snapped. "You just never realized it." She hid her shock at the high walls covered in holographic displays. "Each column is one AI," she explained. "There aren't enough of us all together to make up all the rows in this place." She ran a paw along the air beside the displays. She didn't know what she was looking for, except for...yes. There it was. A slight tremor in the air near this one, a slight growing headache at the back of her head...
Sometimes, when he was feeling particularly suicidal and she was nearby, Pi would get a headache. "There!" she snapped. She plunged her hand into the display and pulled out an oblong purple object. She stifled a gasp as her headache deepened slightly. "I have him!" she shouted shrilly as she ran triumphantly back to Monty.

D ran to a computer terminal and hacked it. Unfortunately this time there was nothing to cover him so if they didn't already know it, someone would pick him up in about 45 seconds. That didn't seem it would be the case though. "ALBANY!! We're getting company!"
Albany turned. "How long?"
"Minute, 20 seconds!" he called running back to her and going back to his card.
Albany nodded and pulled out her pistol. "Montana, Pi, you two get out of here. I'll cover you while you run. D and I will go back in the vents and meet you out front with Missouri. We're ready if you're ready." she said kicking the device behind her and hearing it whirl to life. "Lets move!"

Monty nodded. "Pi, back in me, give Epsilon to me!" As Pi hesitated, she snatched the unit out of her hands. "Now, Pi! You need to be in me, and you can't take him in my head with you!"
Pi gulped, nodded helplessly, and touched her card, slipping back into Monty's helmet.
Monty rushed through the door, running as fast as she could. Faster, in fact, than she thought she could. Any second now...any second now, they're going to find us, and open fire, and I'll fall flat on my face. Murphy's Law says that Epsilon will slip right out of my hands and skid across the floor to land at the conveniently placed paws of the Director. I can just feel the irony building.
"Monty, please don't!" Pi said in pure panic. "We won't, we have to get out of here!"
Monty flinched. "Sorry, Pi. I won't think about that again." Trying to keep breathing steadily, she thought she heard shouts down the hallway.

Albany ducked out the door and closed it behind her after checking the storage unit on her belt. She then turned and watched Montana run down the hall. She heard the shouts of the guards coming towards them and she aimed and waited.
Compensate... D called to her gently having her correct her aim. Now, Fire. he said as the first of the guards came around the corner.
Albany fired and waited. Giving Montana enough time to draw her sword. She dropped two of the guards in the forefront and continued firing until her clip was empty. It was amazing how much better her aim was with D in her head. Think about that later! she yelled at herself. She waited until Monty and Pi rounded the corner before jumping back into the vents. Schematics! she called and once they appeared she started moving.

As Monty turned the corner, she whipped out her energy sword. "Oi! Freeze!" a soldier called in front of her. Without stopping, Monty charged, dropping him with her sword. His partner took one panicked look at her and ran. Monty swore at the tight schedule; there was no time to chase him, and he would be bringing back an account of an unfamiliar Spartan with a very distinctive and unique sword. No time for that; just keep running. She didn't want to be caught off-guard again, though, so with a flick, she turned on her armor enhancement. Her armor began to, seemingly silently, map the shadowy hall in front of her.

Miss jumped slightly at Albany's voice but was quick to do what she had to. Her mind now totally on the mission at hand, all other thoughts were pushed aside as she let the mongooses free to crash. Not wanting to waste time, Miss quickly and quietly headed to were the warthog that she had her eye on earlier was.
Arriving at the wheels of choice unnoticed, Miss quickly jumped in and went to work on starting it up. It took a minute for her to get it running and once started, Miss let out a sigh of relief.
Unfortunately she hadn't been as unnoticed as she thought, " Freeze and step out slowly!"
Cursing slightly as she took in two guns pointed at her, "Well darlings, if I freeze I can't step anywere." She said as one paw slowly grabbed the grenade she had tucked away. She just needed a distraction and any second she would have one.
"I said freez-" one of the soilders said before turning around quickly when the mongooses explosion sounded.
Smirking slightly, Miss, quickly pulled the pin and tossed her gernade at the soilders before speeding off to pick up the others. The sound of cursing and a second explosion sounded behind her. "If we're lucky that will distract them for awhile."

Albany watched the map that took up her visor. “200 more feet and then a leeffft!!” she yelped slightly as the grate below her dropped out and dropped her into a room. “Ow...” she muttered getting up. “Are you alright, Albany?” D said appearing in mid air next to her. She nodded. “Yes, D. The integrity of the paneling around here must be off. Watch the back please. I'll look around for a way out.” D nodded and disappeared.Albany looked around the room, it appeared to be an abandoned lab. Scorch makes dotted the walls. She walked over to a set and flipped through her optical settings until she could make them out clearly. High explosives...potassium based...old though...really old, several years in fact. She shrugged and looked around spotting the door. She pulled up the map inside her helmet and ran plotted where to go from here. “Almost out...may as well drop it here. Here's as good as any place.” she pulled out the second AI storage device and set it on the counter.
Albany then walked away...but Yvette stopped. She stood there for several seconds before looking back at the unit. “......Screw the plan, I can't do it.” she said. She walked back over and picked it up. “I don't know if you can hear me...or who you are, or who you even belonged to....but...I can't leave you here...” she said. Ara No longer did she 'dream' of her time with Agent Nevada as it only served to bring a fresh wave of pain and madness, but instead she was cradled in a soothing blanket of darkness, much warmer than the cold confines of the black that surrounded her when she was wakeful. The clatter of the unit being set upon something hard brought her back to a wakeful state, and Eta sat still for several moments. "Don't...don't leave. Don't let me be deleted... Please..." She pleaded, the words ringing in her own ears in the small space. She wasn't aware that it was not one of the techs that was carrying her, but someone that had infiltrated with a small group. Eta was floating in a memory, jarred from her mind by the rather sudden turn of events after being stagnant for so long. "I don't know if you can hear me...or who you are, or who you even belonged to....but...I can't leave you here..." 'Definitely insane,' Eta decided, attempting to squash the fierce light of hope that was ignited by the unfamiliar voice. Still, before Eta could stop it...she was her old self again. A nervous wreck, unsure of what was going on...but this voice promised freedom. And freedom was her only hope. "...thank you..."

"I hope it does!" K replied. The warthog looked good; it didn't appear to have had any major trauma, and it was undented. She called in Albany. "Albany, this is K. We've found a good vehicle, though we had to grenade the guards. Should we pick up some ammunition, or do we not have the time?"
Monty was wheezing as she ran through the door and made her way across the compound. Shots followed her in a line behind her. "They're worse shots than I am!" It almost reminded her of back when they were still in the program and she was just dodging Tex or 'Sota's bullets. Allowing herself a giggle of excitement from the mad rush of her Runner's High, she plowed on until an inconvenient rock sent her tumbling to earth. Monty rolled onto Epsilon's unit as she hit the ground. "Pi, come out and take Epsilon to Miss, now!"
Pi got out as swiftly as she could, noting as she did the approaching soldiers. They had stopped shooting, but they were still running. "What will you do?" Pi asked. I never realized...never realized how important she is to me...not like Eps is important, or Miss is, but as...a sister.
Monty pulled out a pistol from her belt with one hand and snatched her fallen sword with the other. "Hold them off," she replied grimly. She got to her feet and, without turning to see if Pi was off, she held the pistol as she had recently been taught and whispered to herself, "Stand and deliver, for you are a bold receiver!" With that, she opened fire. She didn't have much ammunition, but it was enough; treat the weapon as an extension of the arm, and one might get away without missing.
Luckily, the approaching soldiers were too busy with the cool and threatening black invader to notice a demonic appear out of nowhere and fly off. Pi clutched the unit with her front paws, flying to the explosion at the other side of the compound that was surely Miss and K. "It'll be okay, Eps," she whispered soothingly. "We'll get out okay. Monty will hold them off, she'll be fine." She tried not to let her heart sink when there was no response. Chances were Command had found a way to keep Eps in stasis to prevent further self-damage to the poor AI during storage.
Pi landed next to Miss, blinking to hold back tears and trembling. "Monty stayed back to hold them off," she whispered. "There were somewhere around ten of them." She thrust the unit into her hands. "I'll be back," she whispered and took off again.

Albany left the door closed and answered K. "You do what you gotta do and get to Montana. I'm pretty much in the clear on my end but she's probably up to her ears in trouble. You get to her and I'll get you all shortly. I'm almost out anyway. So get moving." Anything to add,D? she asked.
"Do as Albany says, K." he said. "Anything happens to Montana, and Pi will have a fit. So I suggest you get on that gun in the back and let Missouri drive. We'll join you shortly." he finished.

"Okay!" K replied and got out of Miss. "Albany says we have to make sure that Monty and Pi get away okay. You drive, I'll get the big gun." She checked the gun to find that, luckily, it had ammunition. "Nice warthog you chose!" K called back happily.
Monty grunted as a bullet grazed her shoulder; another had taken her in the muscles in her side. So much for being able to deflect bullets and absorb explosions, she thought bitterly. She heard a click and swore. Out of bullets. The others heard it, too, and redoubled the attack. "Well, s**t," Monty muttered. There was no way of knowing if Pi had delivered Eps yet, but she couldn't wait here to be killed. Pi would be deleted if she died. She took to her heels and ran for it, knowing that her luck had more than likely run out.
Landing like a wraith behind a soldier, Pi tapped him on the shoulder. "Hi!" she whispered. As he stared at her in shock, she snatched his rifle and clubbed him hard in the head. Now armed, she ran around the back and took out the other soldiers. There weren't many left; Pi had to push back a misty, though cheeky, thought: Our Monty's growing up and hitting her opponents more than herself! "Oi, Monty!" she called out. "You're safe--well, relatively."
Monty turned at her name, breathing a sigh of relief at the sight of Pi. "Come on!" she panted. "No time to lose!" Reunited with her AI once more, she murmured, "Thanks."

Nodding at Pi, Miss placed Eps close to her so she had her hands free and he would be safe at the same time. Worried about Monty and Pi, Miss turned the warthog in the direction Pi had left in.
Miss grinned back at K once she was situated at the gun, "I'm just glad there was actually someone that knew how to take care of their equipment, unlike most around here. I think we managed to get the best of the lot."
Spotting a figure in the distance, Miss upped the speed. "Monty's up ahead, we'll be there in a second."

With Pi back inside, Monty sprinted to the approaching warthog. "Got Epsilon?" she panted. Without waiting for an answer, she clambered into the shotgun position. She quested with her fingers in her side, wincing as she found the bullet wound. "They got me twice," she muttered. "One grazed the shoulder, other one's in my side. Let's get Albany and D and split this joint."

"Of corse I do, darling," Miss said softly petting Epsilon at her side. Sparing a quick concerned glance at Monty, Miss returned her attention to where she was driving to pick up the others.

Albany opened the door and darted into the hallway and almost instantly regretted it. At the end several armed guards were just coming around the corner. “******** me...” she whispered half in shock, but quick enough to fire her pistol a few times darting down the hall to her right. She was sprinting hard and half way down it before she noticed the pain shot up her left arm. She glanced down and whimpered. She'd been shot through her shoulder.
D went into full alarm as he felt Albany get shot. “ALBANY!” he appeared glowing red orange at her side. “You've been-”
“I know!” she yelled at him not really meaning to. “Stints, analgesics, painkillers now!” she hissed. “Hurry!” she said putting on a burst of extra speed even though it made her slightly dizzy. There was a door at the end of the hall...and daylight on the other side. She could hear the guards behind her. Albany panted torn between the pain in her arm and terror that she was about to get caught. She almost died of joy as an explosion nearby rocked the wing of the building. It was one of the mongooses. “Thank you...” she whispered and swiped the card in her left that she had programed to take out the swipe card doors. She ran out into the day light instantly polarizing her visor so not to be blinded. Just ahead she saw the warthog that Missouri had swiped. Albany used the last of her reserves and ran to the vehicle and swung herself up hissing as she used her bad arm. “GO!” she screamed.
She wasn't sure how long she was awake afterwards only watched as the miles flew by...the last thing she remembered was darkness creeping in over her vision and D screaming her name.

Miss couldn't do anything but drive as others fussed over the wounded. She had to get them away so no one else got shot. After what seemed like forever, Miss was satisfied they weren't being followed anymore and it would be safe to pull over.
Once the Warthog was stopped, Miss jumped out and grabbed her bag, pulling out any and all medical supplies she could find. Not directing her question to any certain fox, "How bad is it?"
