Markirus shrugged slighty in self defeat as him and Ark pulled up at the bowling alley. After leaving the car, Markirus looked over the top and Ark and smiled.

"No no! It's fine, I can just catch the bus, thanks for the offer though."

Markirus was slightly embarrased, he wasn't sure if he should tell Ark that he doesn't have a car. Let alone the money to catch a bus.

"I don't see the point of that," Ark said as she locked the doors. "I've already decided I'm not going home tonight and the only place to go, thanks to you letting me know about it, is work. If we're both going the same place there's no point in you taking the bus."

Ark was used to people without cars. Her sisters had to take the bus all the time and she had as well before she got her car.

She pocketed her keys and headed into the alley. This was one of the few places in town where no one would recognize her. Bowling wasn't one of her usual past-times. She hesitated, not even really sure where or what she was doing.

Markirus followed Ark into the alley, he was slightly excited, he hadn't done something like this in a long time. He then thought about what Ark was going to do at work, the boss hadn't been noted, this could cause problems.
"So, uh. Any idea what your going to do when we get back?"

Ark stopped and looked over at him, using his question as an excuse to hide her ignorance. She shrugged a little, "I was thinking I would just chill in the lobby. You know, like those creepy townies that come in during the afternoons," the thought of them brought a slight shudder. They creeped her out.

As she spoke, she looked around for the proper counter. There was the food counter. Then there were two more she couldn't identify. Her best bet at this point was to wait for him to take the lead.

Markirus smiled slightly, he didn't mind her hanging around while he took the night shift, wouldn't be bad to have someone to talk to after all. He slowly walked past Ark and came to a stop at cross section. He looked both ways, seeing which way would lead them to the bowling alley.
"This way." He pointed to his left, leading past the food counter, although he could never really remember the bowling alley, he had a gut feeling that this was the right way, he hoped.

Ark was willing to take the chance. SHe shrugged a little and followed after Markirus. He didn't seem as confident as she would like... maybe he didn't go bowling often either. "I hate to admit it, but I have no real idea where I'm going in here. I don't go bowling to often, so you'll have to lead the way."

"Oh? Same here really."
Markirus pulled a petty laugh, mainly out of the embarrasment, he guessed he might have to ask around, maybe back at the food counter.
"Hold on a sec, I'll ask around."
He walked back towards the food counter where an old woman could be seen bent over dealing with the crops and meats. Markirus gentily placed his hand on the counter and peered over.
"Um, hello?"
The old woman looked up, he face wrinkled with age, her expression was that of a slight frown, maybe because she had to stop from organising her stock. She didn't say anything, all she did was just stare at Markirus with her weary eyes. Markirus smiled slightly.
"I was wondering if you knew where the bowling alley was?"
The woman looked down for a second, then she slowly raised her left arm, shaking as it went and pointed back to the right. Markirus almost sighed out of his mistake, if they had kept going the way they had, they might have gotten lost.

Ark stood there for a second after he left feeling awkward. When a man came by and passed her, she realized that she was standing in the middle of the hall. Looking around to see if anyone could see how awkward she was being she moved over to lean against the wall.

A couple of young girls passed by next. As usual they were whispering and looking at her. She knew that all girls were like that and the likelihood that they were talking about her was small. Still, it made her want to crawl into a hole and die. Her sisters were that type and they were cruel.

"Ah, right thanks."
He gave a slight nod to the woman and walked back to Ark, he smiled slighty, finaly knowing where hey were going, he nodded back in the direction he had just came from.
"Uh, looks like I kinda led us the wrong way. Sorry about that."

"It's okay. I would've done worse. If I had been leading, we'd probably be in with the pins or something," Ark smiled a little, still uncomfortable with their surroundings.

Once she started bowling, she knew she'd be fine, but until she had her head in the game, the people here were going to keep making her nervous. They were all so happy and they were all talking to brightly and happily. She barely even knew the guy she was here with and what little she knew of him she hadn't enjoyed being around until this evening.

Markirus turned back and started to lead Ark through the winding alleys, usualy adding a short funny story to lightne the mood. He could tell something was bothering her, but knowing Ark she would never tell him at all.

Ark laughed at the stories Markirus told her, but it was a distant laugh. She could tell he was trying to get her to loosen up and she appreciated the effort, but her mind wouldn't seem to settle. This was so unusual for her. She never went out with people... she rarely went out at all.

It was with a sense of relief that she realized they were near to getting their shoes and such.

Markirus rounded a corner and was slightly suprised by how brightly lit the area was, it was full of shops and casinos, right at the end was a luminated sign, a symbol of bowling pins running away from an animalised bowling ball. He smiled at the sight.
"Now this is better! No more dark alleys!"
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 11:01 pm
Ark laughed outright, "This place isn't that dark. That place is just overly bright. At this time of night though, it's only the front desk that'll be lit. They like to have blacklights over the lounge areas in front of the lanes."

As she got inside the main room, she looked around and saw the desk that must be for shoes and buying a lane.

Markirus followed Ark in, checking out the area and smiling at how cosy the place was. Watching Ark walk up to a desk, Markirus pulled off his jacket and pulled out his wallet once more, he held out a couple of notes towards Ark.

"Here, this should do the both of us. Maybe even get us a few drinks."
