The police cars, ambulances and soon even the press appeared a couple of minutes after Liam had killed two of the three suspects upstairs. Forensics and detectives were all over the place looking for clues as to why this event happened. Liam was sure they would all come up with something, but he was up on the secound floor after he was questioned about what had happpened when he arrived at the scene.
At the moment he was concerned about the two people he had killed who were without a doubt hired proffesionals and why they were here. As it was it looked like a standard fight between two sides ... so why were the these two and their still free friend hired to come in and kill everyone in this backstreet chopshop.
"Sorry about your partner Liam ... the kid looked like he could have lasted a while ..." The voice came from behind him and Liam didn't have to look behind to know who it was. Her name was Sara, liuetenant Sara Harrison to be exact.
Standing up he turned around to look at his superior, a woman who stood just under 6 feet with long dark black hair, blue eyes and lightly tanned skin. Alongwith her rank she was also a couple of years his senior, but he looked older than she did, the strees saw to that.
He merely nodded his head at her, he was not on good terms with her not becuase he hated her personally. It was because like most of the precinct he worked at she was a 'bad' cop. Some crime lord out there would pay her a little extra to omit a little information here or there. Or in some cases have her used against other rival boss in the city. Personally he found her to be quite likable, he would even put her as someone who hated to give into her greed, although he was sure she has her reasons. She was a decent person, kind, considerate. good sense of humour, but she was still a bad cop.
" Want me to drive you down to the station? Rob's car is gonna be towed down to the station ... Their bringing Rob's wife down there to break the news to her ... the captain was thinking you should tell her ..."
" No thanks Sara ... I'll just walk home"
" Are you sure? Its not safe on the streest fo-"
" I know Sara ... I just feel like walking home tonight. Have someone else tell the wife, I've done that enough ... "
With that he left the crime scene and headed off down the streets, knowing full well that that they were not safe ... espeacially for him. Afterall, he was one of the best cops and still a good cop. After putting alot of big names behind bars, he could think of a few crime boss's out there who would want him dead.

*He looks off in a distance, before walking up the street a bit, he noticed people walking down the street was well, by him he can see people talking to eachother* *He sighed deeply and lightly to himself before finding the sidewalk, he sat down on the end and pulled out a cigerette, it was a long time before he had one of those things in his life* *He looked about before lighting it and having himself a smoke, he shook his head as his long dark brown hair fell over his bright pale, blue eyes* He took a drag before looking around once more, he found himself looking upon other peoples faces that we're almost or like him, he could see things that other people could not see as well, Depression, he found himself in depression* *He noticed that also he looked different from before, he noticed that he was being looked upon, he sighed once more, taking another drag off his cigerette, he threw the cigerette down the drain* *He looked up at the bright blue sky, he noticed the clouds were moving, he didn't like that, he looked back at the streets, he saw that it was nothing more then something he didn't want to particapate in, he closed his eyes for a moment, losing himself in his mind and dreams as he thought, he thought about his old life, and his old friends, he had ran away from his love and his nesice you could say, he hated it but needed to be gone* *He got up and put his hands in his pockets, looking down and then up as he continued down the streets on bear foot*

Thakorise had turned her head back to retort when she saw his hand. Dread filled her face and she turned away. She continued to walk until he cut her off. She stepped back twice and looked at him as though he was nothing but the devil himself. She did not calm much as he spoke. She did take a cell phone out of her purse but it had no service where they were. She held it up at arms length to show him.

Carlos had scared Thakorise back to her own world. She did yearn for adventure but the thought of being alone with someone like him scared her out of her own skin. She found herself trembling with the phone still extended in her hand. She spoke in a cold, off and trembling voice, "Take it. Perhaps it will work further up."

What scared her was the yelling. Her father and mother neglected to yell at her on any occasion simply because she never needed to be reprimanded. She was frightened when she had walked away from him because he had become angry. Along with the fact that he lied freely and seemed to have a hidden life, she summed up that he could be dangerous. She had also assumed he was from around there when he yelled at her, You can go home and be all safe, you don't know wha hell you just brought me. She felt slightly guilty as she was judging him from absolutely nothing. Tears formed in her eyes but her cold and trembling body did not drop its cold facade. She was horrified but guilty at the same time. She knew she had been selfish, very selfish and she was more afraid of becoming that than what he could do to her. She was afraid of becoming a true uptowner. It took a stranger to show her that regardless of her cold, uncaring town brat, she was still young and had a lot to feel before she would become one of the snobs she lived around.

Carlos saw her fear and then slightly stepped back. Looking away he finally said, "No. No, I'm leaving anyway I have to get back." In a sorrowful low voice he said, "Just follow this road until you see your yellow cab, then just head home." He looked back at her to see the tears forming in her eyes. Stepping back again he ran off. I didn't mean to hurt her, he thought to himself, Damnit! I didn't want that to happen. He continued to run not looking back, I have to get back and tell Kevin we're leaving. Anything could happen now. Turning a corner he slowed up to look back right before she was out of his line of sight.

Thakorise put the phone in her bag once he had gone. She looked back to see him running. She turned before he was out of sight and walked briskly away. Her hair threw itself around her as she walked on. The few cat calls from men and rude gestures from women did not take her out of a reverie she had fallen into.
Once she was on familiar territory, she went over to a bench to sit down. Looking at it, she decided against it and took out her cell phone to call a cab. She got the only one she knew but it would be a while before they got to when she was. She felt alone and afraid as people passed her. She stood with her arms crossed over her chest looking around nervously as she awaited the cab.

"Your funeral," she said before taking a small pen out her pocket. She took out her phone as well. She began to press a few buttons before looking up at him. "I need some information. Be truthful."

She fiddled around with it ignoring the food that had been placed before her. "So, first and last name, age, gender...I hope you're male, and a number to the person responsible for your body if you were to die. If you have no one, I can see to your burial."

Carlos quickly ran down a couple more blockings, fatigue now starting to kick in. By the time he had reached his destination he was almost entirely worn out. Banging on the metal door before entering, Carlos yelled out, "Kevin! Hey, we're getting out of here."

"What are you talking about?" Kevin called back smoking his cigarette. He was currently working on a new scam as Carlos approached him. "We've only been here about two weeks, and the biggest scam we've had since our 'incident' is coming soon. We can't leave" He turned from his seated position and saw the horror in Carlos' eyes. Standing he placed his hand on Carlos' shoulder, "What's wrong man?"

Still trying to catch his breath Carlos managed, "I may have been identified. You see there was this girl that needed help at a diner I fleed to ealier..."

"A girl?" he questioned, "You screwed up our whole scam for a girl?"

Ignoring him Carlos continued, "Well it was nothing at first, but she called me on my lie. I acted cool and kept it all going, but when she approached me a second time and had enough to tell her that I was indeed lying...I don't know, I just felt I owed her something, or something like that." Carlos now realized that his actions were completely illogical. "Well anyway she's from the other side of the city, and didn't know exactly where to go. I offered to help her out and then we met her old friend from the diner with some of his buddies. I tried to stay calm, but she pulled out a gun. Yes a gun, licensed and everything she says. But you know out here nothing is 'licensed' without a gang lord's approval. Turns out she's connected to Chen. If those guys identified me with her actions we can't afford to stay here too long." Carlos finally sat down and continued to catch his breath. "Hurry and pack, I've got somewhere to go.

"Where are you going?" Kevin asked as he watched Carlos run out the door. Better pack this place up.

Carlos was now trying to get any energy he had, while talking to Kevin about Thakorise he had a bad feeling something bad was going to happen...if it wasn't already.

As she stood there, a beaten Mercedes rolled up. Thankorise looked at it suspiciously. There were two middle aged men inside with a woman that looked to be about thirty. They all stopped where she was and observed her. She looked around pretending not to notice them. The man called out to her asking if she was looking for business. He obviously mistook her for a prostitute.
Thakorise barely nodded her head when the woman jumped out of the car. She glared warily at the strange woman that had dirty blonde hair and the darkest eyes. The woman circled her like a cat before coming close enough to feel her breath.
"A cute thing like you is good for business. I can find you customers."
"Not interested."

Thaorise was plain and to the point. The men were stepping out of the car and before she could move, she was surrounded. She figured they were all pimps looking for a new prostitute to beat around. She looked straight ahead, not seeing them. They were so close they didn't see here hand reach into her purse. They were busy whispering promises of riches in her ear and telling her what a good entertainer she would make. They asked her where she got such good looking clothes and asked if she was interested to work as a theif. She closed her eyes momentarily and prepared to draw her gun. She knew she could be overpowered with them so close and did not want to risk it. Scared out of her wits, she froze.

The young actress continued to stare out into the street. Was it really pathetic that she was drinking tea alone? She sighed and stood up, sliding her hair in. Pulling an emeradle green jacket up around her, she exited the cafe with a small ding of the bell at the top of the door. She didn't feel like going back to her hotell room, so she began to simply walk around. It was a nice night, she supposed. She never got out by herself like this. If her sister found out, she'd get one of the biggest lectures of her life. Shelistened to the sound of her two-inch heels click against the pavement. In her head she sang a little tune to keep herself occupied.

Ray gave her a quizzical look, and then faked a laugh... horribly. "This is a joke, right?" He looked at her for a bit, and then shrugged. He had nothing to lose.

He yawned again, and then began to say it. "Thought I told you most of this crap. Ah well."

"The name's Raynor Corrado. I'm nineteen, I am a guy and I can prove it if you need me to, and I don't have nobody to look after my body if I die... not that I will." He said sternly.

"And if this is a joke, there's easier ways to squeeze information out of me." He chuckled, and then ordered himself a soda when the waitress returned.

Liam had his hands in his pockets as he walked back home. He was not walking at a fast pace despite how dangerous it was for him or anyone to be walking around at night.
As he rounded a corner he spotted a beat up looking mercedes and a group of men surrounding an attractive looking woman. The scene screamed that there was something wrong and so being the cop he was he walked over.
Nearing the group, one of the men spotted him and gave him a look suggesting he should get lost. Standing his ground Liam pulled out his badge and showed it to the group of men who were no doubt all pimps of some sort. They all looked over at him, whispering to each other and even a few daring to reach into their jackets at concealed weapons.
Liam merely whipped out his gun before they could get their hands half way to their weapons.
" Alright gentlemen, I do believe the young lady does not want your sort of company. I suggest you all get in your vehicle and get lost."
Seeing some defiant looks he took several steps closer, " Listen assholes, I have no problem with killing every single one of you! I take care of trash like you for breakfeast! Right now I am not in a very good mood so I suggest you leave now!"
His harshly spoken words, the gun he held firmly and the cold look of a killer made the men loose their defiance and meekly got into their vehicle. Without sparing a look at him they drove off ... Liam made sure to memorize the liscence plate.
Turning to the woman they were victimizing he noticed she was reaching into her purse for a weapon of some kind. He could see she was freightened, so he put his gun and badge away and stood in front of her, making sure to speak to her in a calm soft manner.
" Are you alright miss?"

Carlos was slowly losing all energy he had as he approached the corner he had last seen her from. Looking down the way he had told her to go he didn't see anything. Trying to push himself he kept going, on a usually quiet rode a mercedes drove past him. Not paying any attention he just kept gong, soon he could see Thakorise in the distance and a silhouette of a man in front of her. As he got closer he called out, "Thakorise." Getting closer he identified the man talking to her and slowed up some, You don't have to be from here to know cop. Not only that, he was Liam Venerous, known all throughout the city as it's last 'good' cop. Approaching the both of them now he noticed Thakorise's hand in her purse, "Thakorise is everything okay?" he asked as he looked up at the prestigious officer.

Hearing soemone shout out a name he noticed a man approaching himself and the young woman standing infront of him. As he came closer Liam could not help but sense as though the man recognized him. Although he had been mentioned in the papers before he made a habit og not getting his picture taken. He had no doubts that the criminal underworld had his picture and name like a wanted photo.
He could tell thee was something shifty about the man, but he was not getting a dangerous vib from the stranger. Besides, he was not in the mood to deal with any more common criminals.
Hearing the man address the young woman he got the woman's name, Thakorise ...
Looking at the stranger he figured that he was a friend of hers, " She just had a little trouble with some of the locals, I gave them a little scare and they took off."
Turning back to Thakorise he gave her a little advice, " Next time your down her miss, don't walk around alone ... better yet don't come down to this part of town."

She punched in the information quickly. She really wasn't trying to scare him off. She was just being her usual pessimistic self. Still, she would not neglect to tell him, "this is not a joke of any kind. All those names were the names of dead bodyguards in the recent past of mine." She smiled as she put the phone away and looked down on her food. "I'm starving." She took a bite out of her sandwich. it was rather small but dissapeared quickly. She ate very fast and in small bites. It was a habit her father instilled in her. He said to always think of things that way. If you can't destroy something, take it apart and it will fall on its own. That was how he gained his empire ad eluded the legal system in every case and accusation. He never lied to them, always told the truth, but was never convicted. He told her that was because they could not take him apart.

"You're still a kid you know," she observed when she stopped to take a drink. "I may be only two years above you, but I can see that you're still young. When you're experienced with the world I live in, things get provocative and dangerous." She drank lightly, another habit her father passed on. Drinking deep gave too much trust to the person you received the drink from. It was best to be light and on your feet than heavy and laying down. It hurt more laying down.

"I've got something to deliver to my father after this. You will accompany me and we'll set your pay."

She had received information from his lawyer, via the daughter. Thakorise was younger than Kali but much more of a woman. She was smart and did not envy her for anything. Kali like the girl very much and they were close to some degree. Kali trusted her dearly but she was always on her guard. She noticed that the other woman was the same. Both their fathers were power hungry and honest men that made it to the top having others tell lies for them. The lawyer and the crime lord were not different in many ways and Kali liked to think that her and Thakorise were very alike. She envied Thakorise's body to endless degrees and she admired her knowledge. Thakorise was an engaging actress but to save face, when she had entered the diner ealier, Kali pretended that she did not know her. Acknowledging her in that area of town would have meant danger for her.
